Holly | 1184 comments Lol Chris, maybe he has. It's gotten a bit better though. She used to cry when I vacuumed, now she just kind of whimpers. Maybe she'll be over it soon. I hope she will, anyway. Lol

message 2702: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Good luck, my son doesn't cry any more but he rushes to either the couch or his bedroom when ever the vacuums comes out. Happy cleaning. We are doing the same thing. I'm just taking a break before I clean the bathroom.

message 2703: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments Thanks; happy cleaning to you as well. I can't wait to be done; I'm kind of tired.

Hi Janie, I hope you find some awesome books at your used book sale when you go. That sounds awesome.

message 2720: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, Dan, I've been wanting to read 30 Days of Night for ages. Is it as good as it sounds?

1:18 a.m. EST Just finished London Falling and about to start the newest Jutta Profijt. I love her writing style, so really looking forward to it!

message 2721: by [deleted user] (new)

It's 1:24 a.m. and I'm a little later than usual getting on GR tonight because I spent a little quality time with my honey. Gonna read for an hour or two and hit the sack. There are SO MANY books I want to read. Wish I were one of these super readers that can finish a book in a matter of hours, but unfortunately I'm not.

message 2722: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 1:34 a.m. EST Okay, ready to read! I'll talk to everyone later; right now I have to disturb Erasmus so I can put away the laptop as he is ensconced on my lap...

message 2723: by [deleted user] (new)

Tee, so glad to hear you're enjoying new baby girl and your wife. What a special time! Immerse yourself in this happiness!!

4:21am. Woke up awhile ago and am so unsteady, walking like a drunk! Sometimes this happens with all the meds I'm on (13!) Decided to just sit awhile and check out GR. Then I'll do some reading if I can think straight. TGIF everyone!!

message 2724: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 6:04 a.m. EST Okay, just finished that book... Ummm NEXT! LOL Need to decide what's next, though. I really didn't mean to sit and finish it all in one go, but it was just too fun to put down! Turns out my husband has probably brought the FLU here, since his coworker was just hospitalized for it. DAMN it... I escaped it for 12 years, I do NOT need to get sick. I guess we'll see... maybe I'll be lucky.

message 2729: by [deleted user] (new)

Christine, I have not heard of that one that I can recall. Glad you are enjoying and I might have to look it up. I've got so many on my to read list now that it will take me a couple of years to read them all :).

It is 11:05 a.m. and I'm enjoying some coffee. Doing my typical routine today and reading for an hour or two before work. It's FRIDAY!! Lovin it!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:06 am. At working waiting for my computer to finish updating. So ready for the weekend. Not sure what we are doing yet because it looks like the weather is supposed to be cold and dreary. Might see if my husband will let me go to the bookstore Janie goes to because they are having a big sale. Can't wait to go home today. Hopefully it will be a painless day as far as frustration goes with my job, and hoping I don't get any emails to do any work this weekend. I have the alternative rock station on in my ear and that makes me happy.

message 2731: by [deleted user] (new)

Now that is what you call multitasking :)

message 2732: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Janie, have fun at the book sale, I love those and we should be having a big one coming up sometime this spring. I hope I can get out to it.

Kathryn, I am thinking good thoughts for you and hoping you have a good enough day at work today. At least you have some good tunes to keep you going. I left my headset at home so no music or audio book today for me.

10:19AM and I am working, had to be here at 7:30 for a meeting and got maybe 2 hours of sleep last night. I need coffee, soda, or energy drink asap. Early to bed tonight. Hope everyone has a good day today, I'll be checking in all day if I don't fall asleep at my station first.

11:27AM Ok so just got back from that book sale in the Mall and OMG it was awesome. But since we were working on limited funds this week I stopped at 7 books. But the paperbacks were $1 Hardbacks $2 They had a lot of great books. I decided that since I wanna try Nicholas Sparks, that was what I got. Hub got Dan Brown, Lost Symbol, and I bought a Sara Dessen book, Lock and Key for my oldest daughter. The Sparks books I got are: The Lucky One, The Guardian, The Rescue, Dear John, and A Bend in the Road.

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Sounds like a great haul Janie. It has been so long since I have been to a good book sale. I didn't get to go to our last year because I was working all weekend. I love finding great books I am missing from my collection for cheap. As always I will look forward to your reviews on them.

message 2736: by [deleted user] (new)

Our local library always has a table set up with books for sale ($2 hardback, $1 paperback). It is supposed to benefit the Friends of the Library foundation which helps to keep our library stocked with good books. I have bought some really good books from the table, but just not real new ones. Still, a very good way to build a decent library at home and most of the books are in really good condition. Glad you got some goods ones Janie. I love Nicholas Sparks.

Chris I was happy at the finds. They had so many good hard backs, but you know me and hard backs, we just don't mix well. They had 2 tables together with just Horror, thiller, suspence, and a lot were hard back. It really was a great sale. I was amazed actually. I am sure I will be reading these sparks books soon.

Cindy this sale benefitted Denton ISD so it goes for a good school system. I have been wanting to try Sparks so I figured today was a good time to start. I am excited to read them. I loved a couple of the movies I have watched that were his.

message 2741: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Ah, book sales, used books... every once in awhile, if I have some extra money, I go on a huge book-buying binge at the local re-sale shops. Goodwill, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity and a local one that provides it's revenue to a church. Last time I came home after spending about $120 with three BOXES (about the size of the boxes in which you buy copier paper) of books plus a couple bags. That was a huge haul. I still haven't sorted through them all; some are still out in the car and that was ... three or four years ago! LOL Anyway, when our local Borders was closing we bought a lot of stuff on clearance there, too.

1:42 p.m. EST Finally crashed out a bit after 7 a.m. and gave in to the fact I was awake a bit after 1 p.m. The new book I picked up to read (doing Amazon Vine books this weekend) looks like it might be somewhat romanticish, but so far it's bearable. Of course, I'm only 50 pages in, but it's only 264 pages, so ... Anyway, I'm hungry, so I think I'll go grab the bag of carrots to have something to munch on while I read and wait for the time to come to wake up Dmitry to go to work. But first I need to finish with my e-mail!

message 2748: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 10:22 p.m. and I am steaming mad. I just found out that one of my earliest friends on Goodreads, who subsequently has published several books, Cambria Hebert, has been attacked by the trolls here on Goodreads and is considering leaving the site due to the rudeness and negativity. This is going too far; Cambria is one of the nicest people you could ever meet, and has never, ever done anything that is less than professional, so she is not a Badly Behaving Author, so these hypocrites had no reason to go after her in the first place! I'm so sick of this all. Every single person on Goodreads who has treated another individual on this site less than kindly? I am ashamed of you. Go hang your heads in shame... GAH!

Folks, if you are ever subject to a troll or Internet bully attack, flag the comments, report them, and then block their ass and IGNORE them. They thrive on attention and drama. This has worked well for me for the past 8 months.

Other than that, I'm up from a nap, eating some pistachios, having a Coke, and once I finish my e-mail I'll be going back to reading.

Cassie the Sale was at the Golden Triangle Mall in Denton. All proceeds went to the Denton ISD. It goes till Sunday, and then on Sunday they are having specials, 5 books for a dollar O: I almost wish we would have waited.

Katy sorry to hear about your friend.
