Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments Oh I hate it when that happens Janie! Lol I guess that's why I always tend to buy things in bulk amounts when I find them at a good price - drives my husband nuts!

LOL Michelle when we bought them last time we bought 4 lol. I just never thought they would go up so high. ugh oh well I guess I will have to put the money out for them because as of right now, all my shelves are full. :/

message 2603: by Shell (new)

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments I have the same problem Janie, all my shelves are full... as well as all the wardrobes in my spare rooms lol

message 2604: by [deleted user] (new)

Heck, we recently moved from a four bedroom house into a one bedroom apartment. I had to leave three of my bookshelves behind. Now I have some of my books double stacked in the top of the bedroom closet. Even had to leave some of my books behind. Talk about traumatizing.

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments OMG Cindy - that's terrible! I feel for you, I don't think I could bring myself to do that :(

message 2606: by [deleted user] (new)

Didn't have much of a choice. I ended up leaving mostly my college textbooks because they take up the most room. I am in the process of building a digital library. Great storage if you know what I mean :)

Sorry to hear that Cindy, that is horrible. I don't know what I would do if I would lose any of my books.

3:25amEST. Been enjoying GR for the last hour or so. Writing reviews, catching up on everyone, enjoying the posts. Feeling kind of yucky so it's been a good distraction. Had a really great buddy read on The Brothers Karamazov with Holly and Chuck. Made asparagus tempura and fried sweet potato chips with dinner last night. Both were really good, but I think it was just too fatty for me to tolerate. Making chicken stock today so a comfort meal tonight sounds good. I may even try some homemade noodles, Janie!

Have lots of laundry to do today. I will enjoy the time in the kitchen. I'll also have plenty of time to read. Starting 2 new books that look pretty good and finishing up a fantastic cookbook. Looks like a good day! Hope for the same for all my GR compatriots!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hey, Dalu - Fluff's full name isn't really His Royal Fluffiness, but if you knew him, you'd understand... Our dog, however, has an ostentatious enough name to make up for it: Emperor Frœderich der Groß, Lord of Beasts.

The giveaway is now live, here: http://katysozaeva.blogspot.com/2013/...
Everyone feel free to come on over, I'm giving away 8 books to two people, and one person will also receive a $25 gift certificate to either Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

3:57 a.m. EST Just finished the Guardians of the Word series and it. Was. AWESOME! Heh. I have to read the Angeleon series this week. First I need to clear out my e-mail, and then I have another guest post to put up for tomorrow, and another coming for the day after, and I think another later on... O.O It's crazy over on my blog lately. One thing after another. If it ever settles back down to mostly just reviews, I think people will become bored. So... pretty normal day...

5:28AM Ugh woke up at 4:30 and could not go back to sleep. Aeverie is still sleeping he had a good time last night with his feet in his Mimi's back lol. I did not go to sleep till after midnight. I am sure he will be up soon, then maybe we can nap together later LOL. We had a good weekend together, he is my sunshine. His mom and Dad will come and get him today.

So now I am doing laundry, had a little breakfast and will be getting Kay up for school in about an hour. Then I have a day of reading planned. Good morning GR!

message 2614: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 7:21 a.m. EST Probably be going to sleep fairly soon. It's supposed to be rainy most of the day, with thunderstorms for a couple hours this morning, so good sleepin' weather... Just making a start on the re-read of the first book in this series, since it's been so long since I read it, before I go on and read the next two.

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 9:41AM and I'm so glad to have the day off. I need a day of relaxing. Went to dinner with my Dad last night and enjoyed some excellent food and beer. Going to enjoy this dreary cold day. My favorite kind of weather.

Terri, I hope you feel better as the day goes on. I'm looking forward to making my own chicken stock this week or next. I've never done it before. I'm making potato leak soup for dinner tonight with cheddar garlic biscuits. I am looking forward to doing some cooking later.

message 2618: by [deleted user] (new)

Grrr! Hate when I wake up late on a work day. Got some lunch fixed, took the dog out, fed both cat and dog, and washed dishes. Still have to eat and take a shower. Very little time to read before work. Might have reading withdrawals today or MAYBE I will have some time to read at work tonight :).

message 2619: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 1:07 p.m. EST Was dozing when the mail arrived earlier than normal and MY NEW KINDLE IS HERE!! Yay! LOL It's really cool, no problems with the screen, and the cover I ordered for it is great. It's a bit of a hassle to navigate the library because it doesn't give you the option to scroll through it, you have to go one page at a time and enter each page individually, but I usually "search" for book titles anyway. All my NetGalley books are downloaded. So, happy day! I have two physical books to read and then I'll test it out on the 3rd book in the series. I'm just charging it fully right now, as it was maybe a quarter down when it arrived. So, I guess I'm awake! LOL After yesterday it feels so chilly but the promised thunderstorms and rain have not arrived, so I'll be checking the weather map soon to see what's the what there.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:04 p.m. EST I have discovered that when I put this computer into hibernate, it automatically ejects any device I have charging on it, so I have to wait until my Kindle has finished charging before I can put aside my computer. This is very annoying. So I'm just sitting here just wastin' time...

message 2631: by GeneralTHC (new)

GeneralTHC 3:06AM I love reading this time of night. Just started Water for Elephants. This seems like the soul examining type of book I've been wanting forever, so far.

message 2632: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Michelle, I hate to break it to you, but ... it was still Monday when you posted... at least in the US. LOL

5:32 a.m. EST Yeah, I was off-line for way too long. Husband stayed home sick, he's getting some sort of cold. I tried to snap in the afternoon but couldn't so ended up going to sleep about 9 p.m. and sleeping (mostly) until around 4 a.m. Finished the first Angelaeon book and it was a good as I remembered. Once I clear out e-mail I'll read the 2nd. Supposed to be sunny and upper 60s today, but then again the thunderstorms we had last night were supposed to arrive in the morning, so it's possible things have changed since the last time I checked the weather. Still, I'm hoping for some sun today, need the warmth on my back! Good morning, all!

message 2633: by Shell (new)

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments Lol Katy! Well thankfully Tuesday is nearly over and done with here in Aussie!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Ah, Michelle, Tuesday is just beginning in the USA... at least you're hitting Hump Day sooner! LOL

6:16 a.m. EST Have had my laptop on too long, I think, as it's starting to heat up a bit. I'll have to turn it off when I'm done here. Just finished with clearing out that huge pile of e-mail from being AFK for 15 hours... *Sigh* Still hoping today will be sunny and warm so I can sit in the sun, but haven't checked out. About to log off and I'll talk to you all later today!

7:42AM YES! Had a great nights sleep! Kay left for school about 40 min ago. It's quiet, a great time of the morning for me. Been skipping through Amazon picking up some freebies. I love that! Currently reading Among the Missing by Richard Laymon. Started it just before bed last night. So I should be able to whiz right through this, will finish it today or tomorrow depending on my appetite to read. LOL

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hey, Chuck, I know once it's in hibernation it's okay; my old one I hardly ever turned off. BUT (and there's a but).... BUT... we have a cockroach problem, and if the computer is left on, and warm, they find ways inside. I think that's why my old laptop finally died, since I'd only had it about 5 years and from the sounds of it those Toshibas should last closer to 7. This one was starting to make that rattle sound I recognized from a little cockroach crawling inside, and I had never felt any heat coming from it before until today, so I don't want to run any risks. I'll be turning it off when I go to bed each morning from now on, just to be safe. I want to keep this thing running for as long as possible.

2:37 p.m. EST Have been waking up every couple hours, finally crawled out of bed around 1:30 when the pain in my hips wouldn't let me lay down anymore. I sat outside for about 45 minutes - until I started to feel like I was burning - then came in. I wish I could have lasted longer, because starting tomorrow it'll be cooling down. Lower 63s tomorrow, two days of rain, then 50s for a few days, then 40s for a few days... *sigh* So, this was my last chance for awhile to catch some rays. I might be able to tomorrow if I find a place out of the breeze, since it was just 63 when I was out but it didn't feel bad at all, so... Anyway, enjoying this 2nd book in the series well enough, but there was a thing right at the beginning that set me ranting almost immediately, so ... that might end up counting against the final score for it. Am I out of line here? If you run across people who you consider to be enemies, and they attack you on the way to your honorary dinner and you end up late because of it to find them sitting at the king's left hand, do you... TELL SOMEONE?? Or do you pretend it didn't happen and not say a word? Ummm ... to me it's fairly obvious, but apparently I'm an idiot or something, because the dude pretended nothing had happened and now it's too late. AUGH!!! Man...

Then again, I guess if they'd thrown the antagonists into the dungeon right at the beginning a lot of the tension would have gone out of the plot, but still... *sigh*

3:27amEST. Woke with a nightmare so up for the day. Too scary and realistic. This has been happening a lot lately. Just put the coffee on. Started and rejected a book last night, so chose a new one to start and I have some short stories and a cookbook to finish up. Need a trip to the library. Starting the day in a poor frame of mind, hope it improves. I'm going to start to read now so that should help. Hope your pain is better, Katy. Have a great day everyone.
