Ah, Dan, I'm sorry you ended up sick and missing the parade :-( I hope you feel better soon. 9:16 p.m. EST Wow, today was gorgeous. I'm very pale-skinned, so I have to work up a tan slowly, so I was outside maybe 40 minutes. Wanted to stay out but didn't want to burn, so I came back in, but I was also very sleepy and relaxed by then from the warmth, so I went to sleep for a few hours, then up to put the dog out. Something is wrong with his foot, and I felt so badly because he wanted to come in here and sleep on the bed, but I haven't let him do that since he was a puppy because he would always end up peeing. Anyway, I carried him back to his crate, and then I had fleas everywhere 'cause his flea collar is missing. He's awake again now, though, so maybe I'll put him out a bit and then let him come in here anyway, now that I"m awake and can watch him. I hate that he's hurting and I have no idea what to do, 'cause we don't have the money to take him in to the vet. Our vet will let us make payments, but he wants half of it up front and the other half in two weeks, and we have exactly NOTHING right now... *sigh* Anyway, it's Saturday night, so ... the emergency vet's REALLY out of our reach. I'm going to have Dmitry try to line the bottom of his crate with cardboard and extra cushioning and see if that helps; he doesn't want to be in there, so I assume it has something to do with whatever happened.
Anyway, that was a digression. I then went BACK to sleep for a few MORE hours. Heh. I'd been up too long and that always knocks me down. So, I've started on this book, but it's a long 'un (my copy is 819 pages), so it might be into Monday before I finish, but I think that will still leave me enough time to have the whole Angelaeon Cycle finished by Friday. I hope.
According to the tracking, my Kindle has left Atlanta, which means it will hopefully arrive here tomorrow and be delivered on Monday. We'll see, here's hoping! I miss having a Kindle, even with my Nook.
You know, I talk a lot about spiders, and watching spiders, and Betty with her brood (she's laid FOUR egg sacs so far this year, two of which have subsequently hatched, and the 4th of which she just laid a few days ago; she's incredibly prolific!), but if a full-grown spider ends up on me, I'm flailing to try to push it off like anyone else... Heh. They're just so darn fast. I have no idea what sort of spider it was I found running across my arm earlier, but I did eventually manage to convince it to jump on the bed, but then I couldn't convince it to leave the bed. I finally had to literally shake it off, so I hope it wasn't hurt, but I don't want a random spider on me in case it bites. If I could have told for certain it was a funnel weaver I wouldn't have been too worried, they seem fairly harmless, but ... I had no idea. Couldn't tell. And those brown cupboard spiders like Betty are all over in here. While they're not dangerous, if they are enticed to bite, it can hurt, so I'd rather it not happen.
8:39 p.m. I think I might do some studying. I'm quite happy with the reading progress I've made today.

10:12 p.m. EST Have the dog outside and while he's barking some, he seems pretty happy. I'll have to ask Dmitry to work on his crate bottom when he comes home from work, and I hate that 'cause he's had such a long day. Almost through my e-mail, a lot had gathered up during the day and more keeps coming in!
9:41PM and I'm beat. Had a family thing right after work and we just got home. Tucked little ,an into bed and now my wife and I are relaxing on the couch watching one of our favorite shows Psych. I've got a cold frosty beer and ready to take a deep breath. Kathryn I hope you are feeling better after some rest. Dan I hope you are feeling a little better as well. I'd hate for you to miss out on all the St. Patrick's Day festivities. Hope everyone is doing well.

Holly I am reading Incarceron, totally out of my comfort zone, but amazingly good right now.
Chris, Psych is my daughter Kay's favorite show right now LOL. Grandbaby is being entertained with Aunt Kay and a cartoon they found on TV. Tomorrow we will prolly take him to the park, we will see what happens.

Janie we love Psych, it is so funny and the characters are great. My wife read Incarceron, and really liked it and the second one. Hope you continue to enjoy it. Not my cup of tea either.

10:58 p.m. i have the dog and all his fleas here on my lap. He has never, ever cuddled before, so now I"m seriously worried... At least I can keep him still so he's not yelping every few minutes. Damn it, I hate this... I hope Dmitry is home soon. I'm done with my e-mail, so I'll log off and read now.
I appreciate that Holly, I think you are an awesome friend too. I'm so lucky to have found so many amazing people here I can connect with. Where else can an antisocial person such as myself make so many amazing friends. Uh oh, here goes the love feat again. You all rock and I'm in awe.

So I'm a little emotional today. Apparently I forgot to take my man pills today, but I have learned to appreciate good friends. It sucks I have to work tomorrow, but tonight is turning out well finally. Glad I can share it and chat with everyone here.
10:38 PM. Still sick. Sometimes I feel better than other times, so maybe I'm starting to get over it. About to watch a movie with my boy and keep resting. OOOOOH, apple juice sounds good right now....(Haha, wow...can we say distracted?!) Anyways, hope everyone is having a great evening. :)Chris, I love soup! Baked potato and leek and potato are some of my absolute favorites. Tonight, we got Chinese food, and I got egg drop soup. Too bad my Daddy is out of town working on an oil rig, otherwise he'd come over and make me some homemade chicken and dumplings soup. It cured me last time I was like this. Not kidding. I actually have some leeks, so maybe I can make some leek and potato soup tomorrow. Dad makes it MUCH better than I do, though.
Chinese food sounds awesome right now. So does that chicken and dumpling soup. I have never made potato leak, but my mom makes an amazing potato leak. I'm going to give it a shot and see how I can do. I make a lot of things very well but those are my old favorites so I have had time to improve those. This is my first attempt. I hope you feel better, I'm sure your husband is taking good care of you. Try to enjoy your weekend besides being sick

I love soup you guys!! And my favorites to make are Chicken noodle, Potato, and bean. The whole family loves soup too!
I'm a big fan of potato and chicken noodle. In the next few weeks I will be making homemade chicken stock and then chicken noodle soup with that stock. I have just had a craving for homemade chicken noodle. Weather is getting warmer but I still love some soup. Soups and chili are some of my favorite comfort foods.
3:39amEST. Just got up, waiting for coffee to brew. Chris, by coincidence I'm making chicken stock tomorrow. I use it for chicken vegetable bean soup and chicken noodle. Yum. I save wing tips and other chicken bones to make a really rich and gelatinous stock. Also making some garlic confit which will be new for me.
Katy, so sorry to hear about your dog. It really sucks when they're hurting and you can't help. They look at you with such trust and love...

Thanks, Holly and Terri. Dmitry borrowed some money today or something, and he went and bought a new, cushy bed for Fritz, and we lined the bottom of his crate with some cardboard so he would have a smooth base. He sat in here with me resting for about 3 hours and then went outside and had some food and water, and then into his new bed, and seems fairly content. He'd only yelped once, so I guess he's feeling better. My husband reminded me that Fritz has a very low threshold for pain. I suspect that he somehow wrapped his chain around his foot and neck and pulled some muscles, and a day or two of taking it easy should help him feel better.4:11 a.m. EST Just taking a break from reading to clear out e-mail, send out some well-wishes (lots of birthdays today!) and check my Kindle wishlist for freebies. My cat has forgiven me for letting the dog sit in here and is back on my lap now... LOL

It is 11:55 a.m. and I got a surprise visit from the apartment maintenance man this morning. He will be working on some things while I switch back and forth between cleaning the house, reading, and checking posts on GR's. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

11:48 am. Wishing my sweet boy would hurry up so we can get breakfast/lunch. Really need todo some major house work and laundry. Going to read while I wait for the boy. Still a little sick, but doing quite a bit better today. Yay!
Glad to hear you are feeling somewhat better Kathryn. I am going the same today for the most part. Reading a chapter in one book, taking a break to clean a bit, and then reading a chapter in another book. Not gonna push myself too much today because I have a trainee at work and tomorrow is going to be a beast.

Happy to hear you're feeling better, Kathryn. Dalu, were you at the nightclub all night and into the morning? Is it a 24-hour club? Crazy! Hope you're well-rested!4:28 p.m. EST I started waking up around 10 in the morning, but was having this awesome dream so I kept going back to sleep. I finally crawled out of bed about an hour ago and went to sit outside. It's mostly cloudy, but warm, and I needed the UV. Tomorrow it's supposed to storm, and then start cooling down. By this time next week the highs will be in the 40s again. GAH! Still, there will be a couple days this week in the upper 60s and sunny, so I'll take what I can. Had to turn on the AC, though, which is annoying because I'll just have to switch it back to heat in a few days. *sigh* His Royal Fluffiness was keeping me up this morning, so the cats were locked out. Erasmus gave me a piece of his mind over that, and now he's sitting at my feet scratching angrily. He'll forgive me once the computer is off my lap and he has his spot back, though... Slowly working my way through this final book in the series. Tomorrow I'm giving the entire series away on my blog, so be sure to stop by! LOL Off to finish clearing my e-mail, and start waking up the hubby.

Just a bit more e-mail and then... I dunno. Dmitry wants to go out, but I hate to spend what little money we have on anything but food. We'll see.

Hi Kthy nightclubs here are open from 1 am to 9 am i suppose, so i left arround 8 and went to a friend's house where i slept for an hour and came home, it's 7:41 pm now and i slept since i got here until now and i feel like a zombie.
It's so cute you name your cat His Royal ii always wanted to name a pet like that or something similar!
I love waking up and knowing i have the chance to going back to sleep almost all day :) I'm looking forward to stop by your blog!

8:47 p.m. Just finished The Brothers Karamazov....what a fantastic read!! Now I'm trying to wait patiently for my hubby to get home so we can watch The Walking Dead.
11:08pm ET. Just finished watching The Walking Dead and am saddened that this season is almost over. Long, but fun day in the yard gardening and I really don't want to go to work tomorrow..... i just wanna play in the yard!!
1.45pm I'm struggling today... must be because it's Monday. Really looking forward to finishing work for the day. I think I might go back to Savers tonight and see what book bargains I can find. I found some cheap bookshelves last weekend (which I have already filled) and the shop is right near Savers so maybe I'll go and get another couple - for $39 each you can't really go wrong. After that I think I'll spoil myself and make spaghetti carbonara for tea - one of my all time favourite comfort foods :)
