Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments Lucky you Cassie - I've always wanted to visit NYC :)

It is 12:27 a.m. and I just got home from work not long ago. Have been sick for a week now and only missed one day from work. The reading is a little slow going right now because I am so drained. Think I'm going to back off to three instead of four at a time for a bit. Gonna read for about an hour and go to bed. Hope you have a great time in NYC Cassie!

message 2354: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Enjoy your trip, Cassie. Sorry to hear you've been sick, Cindy, I hope you feel better soon!

12:36 a.m. EST Just popping on to let folks know the guest post I had scheduled went live, and add the review!

message 2355: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you Katy. It has got to end soon. I just feel really drained.

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments Get well Cindy - lots of rest and keep up the fluids, as my mum would say lol ;)

message 2357: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments I recommend Vitamin C and/or zinc and/or Echinacea. There is this juice by Knudsen's I like to drink when I'm sick that is called Lemon-Ginger Echinacea; the ginger helps with sore throats and fevers, the lemon gives you the vitamin C and the Echinacea helps build the immune system. Also, garlic is very good for that. I do hope you feel better soon.

1:16 a.m. EST Just finished swapping some e-mails with my 2nd ex-husband, catching up (we're still friends) and filled out some surveys; I've not been keeping up with my various survey sites. I'm ready to log back off and start some more reading!

message 2358: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks folks for the tips! Think I'm about to drink a cup of hot green tea and go to bed. Goodnight all!

Did you name your pet "Gizmo" after the creature from Gremlins??

@ Alondra. Well I had the surgery back in 2007. This time if I do do it they would have to cut the shoulder open and go in instead of making a little inscision.

1:52 PM. Man, I passed out before and just woke up. Must be that mexican food. LOL. I suppose I should go pass out again.

1:09AM Reading my book, Jack & Jill, really enjoying it so far. I did not read much today after finishing The Dark Tower. Had a great workout about 7:00 and then watched a movie and played a bit online. So now I got a late start on the book. Will be up a little longer though.

message 2363: by GeneralTHC (new)

GeneralTHC 1:23AM I love this time of night. This is probably my favorite time to read. The world is quite.

11:06AM About to get some lunch and then a day of reading. Will be out tomorrow so will prolly not get much read time in. Would like to finish Jack & Jill today.

Rachel that happens a lot with series which is why I like these by Patterson, they can be stand alone books. Makes it so much nicer when series go on forever.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 12:14 p.m. EST GAH, passed out and only reluctantly crawled out of bed about 1/2 hour ago. Hate feeling so tired! Heh. Tomorrow is my monthly doctor's appointment, so I'll probably nap tonight so I'm not half-dead in the morning, when I'd normally be sleeping. Clearing out e-mail and then back to reading!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 1:23 p.m. EST Just ordered my new Kindle! Yay! Decided on a Paperwhite. So it'll be here next week. I expect the old one to turn up now in a couple days... O.o Hehe. We'll see. I haven't removed the old one from my account, because I keep hoping it'll turn up. Anyway, just about done with my e-mail and then I'll go back to reading.

message 2373: by Dan (new)

Dan (dan2345) | 304 comments I like good old fashioned books, but I suppose I'll be getting one of those e-readers in a few years.

message 2374: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments I prefer books as well. I don't think I'll ever buy one of those things. Unless I have to, that is.

message 2375: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, I love having the e-reader. If you saw this places, with the boxes and piles of books that I have to wend my way around, you'd understand the need to stop adding to the clutter! LOL I still buy physical books, a lot of them, but having the e-reader has saved me a lot of space and I always have something right at my fingertips to read. Plus it's easier on my hands than holding a physical book.

1:44 p.m. EST Oops, I really need to log off. cya

message 2378: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Sorry to hear that, Jordan; I just lost my lunch, too. Yuck. I hate that. I think I'll try to go to sleep and hope the nausea is gone when I wake up.

3:51 p.m. EST just popped in to clear out e-mail, going to try to sleep since I feel sick.

3:52PM Have dinner in the oven, after that will do my work out. Then read read read. I am loving this Patterson book. Very good! Would love to finish it tonight.

message 2382: by Shell (new)

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments That's exciting that you've ordered your Kindle Katy - I'll be interested to hear what you think of it.

I never thought I'd buy an e-reader but the Paperwhite is so small and light - its perfect for carrying around in my handbag so when I'm reading a book I'll read the actual book when I'm at home and then pick up where I've left off on the Kindle while I'm out and about... stops my books from getting ruined by carting them around in my handbag.

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 9:09PM and I missed a lot on here today. Well, I have had a busy day today and now I am enjoying a little quiet time. My wife is at book club, and my son is asleep. Have a few reviews to write, and watching Live Free or Die Hard. The only Die Hard movie I own and I need to fix that asap.

Hope everyone is doing better.

9:22PM Hey everyone! *waving* Had a great work out, then shower, then reading, now talking to y'all on here, and then gonna read some more. I often sit here and think about how addicted I am to reading. And it seems that the older I get the more I addicted I am.

Lucy just keep plugging away at your book, you will get there.

Alondra have you read the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series? That series is really good. I saw you post about reading The Alchemist and it made me think of that series.

Live Free or Die Hard is a great film, Chris.

message 2391: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 10:49 p.m. EST I had hoped to sleep a little longer, but it just wasn't in the cards. So now I'll be up way too long ,since my appointment is at 8:15 in the morning. Oh, well. It's to an exciting point in the book, where the unbeatable villain shows up and kills a bunch of people and takes off with an important hostage ... AGAIN... and no one can do anything EVER to stop the jerk. Which is the only part of the series I don't like; if the villain is going to be unbeatable he should at least be PERSONABLE and entertaining, and this guy is just a jerk that I want to have die, so that's no fun... Heh.

I agree, the franchise reboot defiantly came back with a Vengeance. Yes cheesy pun intended. You can insert "Groan" here.

I had the first 3 movies on VHS, but have nothing to play them on. I have to get them on Blu-Ray soon because after reading Nothing Lasts Forever, I have to re-watch all of them.

Good luck with Physical therapy Dan, I bet that will be rough at first.

message 2394: by Dan (last edited Mar 13, 2013 07:59PM) (new)

Dan (dan2345) | 304 comments It won't be rough, Chris, I've been through it before. I'm just hoping for a speedy recovery this time.

So you've read the book? I am a big fan of the Die Hard franchise. What do you think of the new film?

P.S.- "Yippie Kayae, mother fucker!"

message 2395: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments I always thought it was "Yippie-ki-yay"... *shrug* LOL

11:37 p.m. EST Collecting links for the Internet radio shows I missed earlier, will have to give them a listen tomorrow. Tonight I'm still feeling a bit ... bleargh.

message 2396: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Dan, I sadly will have to wait till video to see it. We don't get to go to the movies much, but I'm planning on just getting it when it comes out. Good or bad, it is still Die Hard. The book was really good and it was cool to see that the movie held so close to the original book.

message 2397: by Shell (new)

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments 2.10pm - at work and feeling like I could fall asleep at my desk. I felt the same yesterday - maybe it's the big bowls of lentil soup I've been having for lunch! Looking forward to a relaxing night tonight. I should be going to yoga, but I'm pretty keen to curl up on the couch with a book and a glass of wine instead.

message 2398: by Chris (new)
