Victor Dan and Kathryn-Haha:D

It's 11:27AM And I just finished doing the salt and ice challenge. It hurt so bad LOL

message 2252: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Victor-My brother made me do that once...It was awful.

Dan-Hope your MRI goes well. I found out yesterday, I'm going to have to have an MRI on my head in the next few weeks. :/

11:29 AM. Missing my husband while he's at work....He texted me to tell me he should be done by three....:(

message 2253: by Victor (new)

Victor It is awful. I think the after pain is worst than the original pain. Hope your MRI's go well Kathryn and Dan:D

My Grandma gave me her copy of Angels & Demons by Dan Brown. She said she didn't like it and already saw the movie so she never read it.

I'm a bit lost here, what is the salt and ice cream challenge?

message 2255: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments It's where you put some salt on an ice cube, and see how long you can hold it to your skin. Supposedly, it makes it really cold and painful.

You are one crazy dude. :-)

3:19 PM. Still enjoying Sushi, beer and The Walking Dead.

@ Victor- I am worried about you. What you did is a cry for help.

message 2265: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments That's a weird time for an MRI, Dan. I hope it goes well.

Victor, you didn't actually try to do that, did you? You'll be lucky if you just experience pain; if you're not lucky, you'll frostbite yourself and end up losing skin or even a hole in your hand, maybe developing an infection, and eventually DYING. Yup. So, best to stay away from silliness like that. If you want to play with salt and ice, try this: put a glass of ice water on a table and then put a bunch of ice in it. It'll freeze to the table. That's good, clean fun.

3:36 p.m. EST Just finished clearing out e-mail, so now I'm off to read. The dog is fussing, he knows it's almost time to go out, so he's saying he's tired of waiting. I didn't want to wake up today, but finally the sun made me crawl out of bed, and now I'm guzzling Coke to try to wake up.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 6:52 p.m. EST Just ready to take a nap. Found out from one of my childhood friends that the lady who taught us in 3rd and 5th grade - probably the best teacher I ever had - just passed away. :-( She was an amazing teacher, and we all loved her. Just another reminder that I'm slowly growing old. *sigh* This is the 2nd of my grade-school teachers to pass away, and oddly enough they were both among the younger ones. So weird.

message 2270: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Janie, you're fortunate to have your grandbaby over so much! You must enjoy it. I know my mom loved living near her grandchildren (my brother and his wife live only two miles away from the main ranch).

Holly, sorry to hear your back hurts.

10:11 p.m. EST Had a nice little nap, just clearing out e-mail now and then will read for awhile. Once I finish this book, I have a few upcoming guest posts on my blog I need to schedule, since I have the materials for them.

message 2271: by [deleted user] (new)

10:33pm. Sitting here with an abscessed tooth for which I will need a root canal next week. Thank God for pain meds. Everyone on GR is falling apart! Victor, are you OK dude?? Dan, hope your MRI turns out OK. Katy, sympathies for your loss. Holly, hope your back feels better. Janie, you're in the best shape! Enjoy your grandbaby and the good feeling that comes from working out. I'm not going to be able to sleep any time soon, so I plan to read for a good long while. At least the puppy will keep me company. Night, all.

message 2272: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Thanks, Terri. I hadn't been in touch with her in recent years; I'd tried reaching out when I found her on Facebook, but other than accepting my friend request I never did talk to her. But she was my favorite teacher in grade school, with a strong influence on my current tastes in books (moved me past Tarzan and the children's mysteries into epic fantasy, and began my obsession with Celtic mythology) and continues to influence me in my editing today. She had a son one year older than me who was one of my sworn enemies back then; we never understood how such a jerk could have such a cool mom. Heh. Then again, pretty much that whole class hated me, and the feelings were mostly mutual. Anyway, sorry to hear about your tooth. Pain meds make a lot of things more bearable, eh?

10:50 p.m. EST Just finished with clearing out e-mail and ready to read more of this really awesome book.

Alondra Miller 8:24am ET. Making coffee and toast. Finished reading Bad Moon Rising last night; which makes it the 1st book of March that I have read. I am soooo behind on my reading. Real life just keeps getting in the way. By the time I get off work, I am whooped. Hopefully this is a better reading month. I only read 4-5 books last month. :/

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 11:22AM I couldn't sleep last night for fear I wouldn't wake up on time to get to work today due to the time change, so I am dragging. After 2 horrible days at work I am really hoping today doesn't follow that trend. Either way it is a shorter day, and I am off tomorrow. The countdown begins 5 hours, 37 min till I am scheduled off. Now I hope that I don;t get stuck here past that.

Pancakes and bacon for Dinner tonight, can't wait!!!

message 2281: by Dan (new)

Dan (dan2345) | 304 comments 12:30 PM. I usually hate sundays. Wait...no I don't because that's when The Walking Dead is on. LOL. I can't wait for tonight's episode. I had my MRI last night and am waiting for them to send the results back. My shoulder popped out again last night. I think I'm going to have to have surgery again on it. Well, I'm off to get lunch. Hope you all are having a good day.

Did you try the soup last night? How was it if you did? If you didn't like it you can tell me it's no big deal.

I know what you mean, my Son's favorite right now is either Over the Hedge, or Despicable Me. Now I love both of those so don't mind watching it, but after the second time in one day I am done. Good luck with the tantrum. I know your pain. :-)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Chris, hope today is better. Dan, sorry your shoulder is giving you trouble, hope things go well.

2:07 p.m. EST Did NOT want to crawl out of bed today, so tired! But finally did, however, there is intermittent cloud cover so when I tried to sit outside clouds covered the sun. It's out again now, but I'll bet if I go outside the clouds will come again. It's always like that. Anyway, just clearing out e-mail so I can then finish this book. Tomorrow it's back to editing! I have a few blog posts to set up for this week, too, but I'd like to finish this book first.

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Thanks for the well wishes Katy, So far so good, but I still have 3 hours, and 29 min to go till the end of shift. It is raining pretty hard here and all I want to do is sit out on my covered balcony and listen to the rain and read while my son colors at his little table that we can put out side. I love the rain and how calming the sound is. Maybe I will sit outside for awhile tonight after dinner and do a little reading. Sounds like a nice idea.

LOL Chris to be honest I completely forgot to tell you, but the family loved it! Was a huge hit. I asked them first what they thought of it. Then told them how it was prepared. I love that it cuts through some of the acidity of the tomatoes. Looks like we will always have it this way.

2:55PM Saddened by The Dark Tower's turn towards grief. But can handle it. It is heartbreaking. But it has turned out for me to make the story. We can't always have happy endings. Hub will be home in about and hour and a half. Meanwhile I will still be reading. Grandbaby is entertained.

Cindy I too feel obsessed with reading andI love it.

message 2295: by [deleted user] (new)

I have heard mixed reviews about this book. Most people seemed to have really liked the movie but many say the book is somewhat lacking. I am not that far into it yet but so far I like it. Definitely not a five star as of now, but still liking it.
