Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments I don't know that we have it here in Aussie Dan :( I'll have to find a friend that has it on DVD so I can borrow it.

message 1553: by Dan (new)

Dan (dan2345) | 304 comments LOL...I thought it was just us Americans that called it Aussie. Are you sure you guys don't get it?? Well, I'm sure you can find it on DVD. That's actually what I did. I didn't start watching it till this year and I went out and bought seasons one and two on DVD. Now I'm hooked, I watch the DVDs all the time.

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments Haha nah we do too! I'm pretty sure it's not on free to air, but it's probably on cable which I don't have :/

It's 1:48am. I slept from 8pm till a little while ago and I actually feel really good. Ready to hit my books. The house is quiet, I love being up in the middle of the night.

It's almost Friday, guys. Hang in there.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 6 a.m. EST Laid down yesterday sometime between 3 and 4, fully crashed out around 6 last night, and while I've been up a couple times, feeding the cats, shooing them off my dresser and clothes, etc (they hate when I'm not awake and paying attention to them), I more or less just finally woke up about 20 minute ago. After basically being awake for 30 hours, I needed that! I also dreamed all night, crazy dreams! The one I remember best was from two wakings ago where I was at some sort of school - not sure if it was just boarding school or a university - but didn't realize what kind of school it was until in a class when something freaked me out and I was staring at a torch to calm myself down and when I calmed, the torch went out, and I thought "cool, wonder if I can relight it" and when I concentrated this HUGE plume of fire shot up and then the teacher accidentally was caught in the magic and lost his glamour and transformed into his normal appearance, and I have no idea what he was. He was about twice the size of a normal person, and his legs and one arm were coated in fur of some kind. Crazy. I'd like to go to that school, though, 'cause they let me keep my cats in my room... :-)

And also? While it was gorgeous and warm yesterday, it's freakin' cold again this morning. now I have to turn the heat back up again... *sigh*

Courtney | 73 comments 8:18am. Kids are off to school, and I'm about to make another coffee. First day of my week off to read A Storm of Swords... I mean study. Kidding of course... it won't take me a week to finish A Storm of Swords ;)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 9:43 a.m. EST Just finished Gone by Randy Wayne White and it. Was. AWESOME!!!! Now I'm trying to decide which book to read starting with the letter "I". I was going to read another Vine book, but the only one I have starting with "I" sounds too depressing and I'm not in that mood right now... So, it's between one I've wanted for almost 2 years and finally received in September, or one that's coming out next week that I could post an early review... and I ... I can't decide!!! I'm also hungry, which isn't helping things. Yesterday's lunch is all digested and now I want something to eat but I don't know what, and it's not like there's much around here anyway. Guess I'll have some carrots. And it's cold and raining. I want yesterday's warm sun back!! So, that's where I am...

Michelle I hope you feel better soon, Kickboxing, Wow. That sounds like fun, but I think I will keep to my books. Paper cuts hurt less.:-)

In the book buying mood, but still can't seem to focus on reading much of anything, even audio still. Got to get back into the swing of things. My challenge widget is going to start mocking me soon.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 10:16 a.m. EST Decided on Christine Amsden's The Immortality Virus. I noticed I have a second book of hers in my review queue, so I'll follow with that even though it will duplicate a "T". Oh, well. Other than that, just crunching on carrots!

1:45PM getting ready to read some more of N&D. This is a collection of king;s shorts that I am really not enjoying that many of, so far I really enjoyed about 4 of them. I feel dread when it comes time to pick the book up again lol. Thank goodness for my other buddy reads this month. I love King but his novels are always so much better.

message 1566: by Holly (new)

Having a good day, it's really nice so I thought I would share. Hope all are well out in Goodreads Land.

What happened, Michelle, did you get hit?? What did your Sensei say? Hope you feel better.

7:18pm EST. Just got home and am about to eat dinner. Apparently there is a major blizzard coming in my area and it's going to be really really bad!
Well, hope to get some reading done tonight. LOL.

message 1570: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments Uh-oh Dan! At least if you get stuck inside, you have your books, right? Lol

We've had rain here all day.

message 1571: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Chris, glad your day is awesome! Dan, stay safe, stay warm!

7:50 p.m. Finished The Immortality Virus and it was AWESOME! Man, I've picked a couple good'uns this week so far! I'm overbooked for editing next week, so need to enjoy reading while I can! Heh. It's so cold and damp today, everything aches. I put some Sore no More on my hand, which helped, but used a more generic brand for my legs and it isn't working as well. Guess I'll try the Sore no More on my leg, too... but the roll-on bottle is almost empty and I can't use the stuff in the tub myself because I have bad eczema on my hands and don't want to end up with cayenne pepper (I can't remember the name of the actual active ingredient, but it's the same thing as in cayenne pepper and burns almost as much in open skin) in the chafed skin. So might have to wait for my husband to come home for that... Anyway, I have one more book by the same author which is up next, so we'll see if my luck holds! But first... clear out the e-mail. Wheeee!

@ Holly...LOL, yes that would be a good time to get some reading done. I'll probably end up having to shovel the damned driveway though.

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I'd still have to go to work if we got a blizzard. I have a Jeep and live close to work, but the idea of being snowed in with firewood, and some great books sounds great. My boy loves books so I'm sure we all could read all day and be happy. Good luck Dan and be safe if the Blizzard gets bad.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hey, Dan. I've blown out my knee on 3 separate occasions; first when I was 12 being thrown from a horse I was training for 4-H, then when I was 16 in volleyball, and again at 23 with a fall. When it's cold and damp, it acts up. thanks for asking!

2:05 a.m. EST just finished my 2nd Christine Amsden book, it was also very good. 3 for 3 this weekend so far! Now to clear out the e-mail, wait for husband to bring the pistachios I'm craving, and figure out what to read next!

message 1589: by [deleted user] (new)

It's 6:01am on a rainy and warm (60 degrees) morning. The temperature is supposed to fall all day, but we're still not expecting snow. Good luck to all you guys in the blizzard zone! (Snow is beautiful but only if you don't have to deal with the consequences like shoveling or no power.) Today's a day to do laundry and clean house. That won't take too long, though, so I plan to do a lot of reading. I'm almost done with my "X" book for the alphabet challenge. Also doing a buddy read that's good, so I have more than enough to fill the day.

Hope everyone on GR has a great day!

12:31PM taking a break from N&D and reading one of my free books from Amazon. It is really very good. I feel like I need to take breaks all the time while reading this King collection. UGH! I refuse to not finish it though. I am hoping to come across A LOT more good short stories in this collection to maybe give the book back some redemption.

Kathryn and Teez sorry you guys are in a slump. I hate when that happens.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 4:09 p.m. EST Woke up a bit over 1/2 hour ago, just clearing out all the e-mail that had collected, and will then finish my "J" book! Things are going to become intense for the next month, as I have a very heavy editing schedule (3 novellas next week, two the week after, potentially a full-length novel the week after that) and ABNA judging to boot, so I might be scarce on the ground for awhile.
