Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 6:06 PM. Got home from work about twenty minutes ago, and had a nice talk with my Grandpa. Now, I'm just waiting on my sweet husband to get home from work. Thinking about picking up Under the Dome to get me out of my reading funk. :)

Of all the books to pick up to get out of a funk that seems really daunting. Good luck with that Kathryn. I really liked it, but I would have to work back up to that one. I might re-read it at the end of the year, I want to get closer to my reading goal first, but it was a good one.

6:09 PM and this night will not end. Time seems to run backwards when I get to work and it just isn't fair. Got a little of my audio book read, now just surfing the web trying to keep occupied.

@ Kathryn-you're reading Under the Dome? Are you going to finish it, that things huge! LOL. They showed an add during the Super Bowl last night and they are turning it into a TV movie I think.

Haha, usually when I'm in a funk, it takes a certain book to pull me out of it. Usually it is something which is peaking my interest, and just sounds like what I want to read at the moment. I have never read it, but I would like to before the show comes out.

I'm thinking about reading it. I never have, but it just sounds like something interesting to read right now. I'm in a bit of a reading funk, and for some reason, all of this talk about the Under the Dome series is making it peak interest in me.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Chris, what do you do that you can surf the web and read? That sounds like an awesome job! :-)

11:11 p.m. EST Up from a nap and clearing out my e-mail. Hubby brought home some Dominoes, so full belly of pepperoni. Had weird dreams and didn't rest very well... once e-mail is cleared, I'll be back to editing while drinking my gas-station cappuccino.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 1:29 p.m. EST waiting for hubby to return with lunch, went to pick up the mail and paid our power bill before we were disconnected, which means I needed to transfer money out of PayPal before we went into the red, which means I still don't have enough for this month's medical expenses... augh!! It never ends. Anyway, just taking a bit of a break to read my e-mail and such, then back to work!

Well I am in a retail setting and it is pretty slow, I'm a technician so I am left to my own devices for the most part. I sneak reading and web browsing when the boss isn't around. We have found a way to use Firefox so we can get around the web filters, but even without it our company web lets me get on GR.

I will not say anymore, because I don't want to be asked how to fix things here, and I don't want to be in trouble with my company for not talking favorably. I am not happy in my job and having down time to read and surf the web is the only perk. I am and have been trying to find a better job for years, the economy just sucks a bit.

1:18 PM and I am working the closing shift again so I will be here all night. (Well till 9 PM central anyway). :-)

message 1519: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Ah. I used to work in the tech support division of a place that created electronic test banks for textbooks, and we could do whatever we pleased as long as we took care of business first, so I did a lot of web browsing and e-mailing and IMing back then, but since then most of my jobs have been pretty "focus on what you're doing." I had a temp job once where they didn't mind me reading, and I was doing research for a project, so I loved that and desperately wanted to be hired, but the temp place screwed up my application. *sigh*

3:34 p.m. EST Wanted to e-mail my stepmother and Dad and let them know I received their card today and tell them we're hitting an upcoming gun show to spend the money they sent (for guns ... LOL They won't send me money for insurance or medical treatments or bills, but I tell them I want to buy a gun and it's all "here y'go!"), so decided to clear out e-mail while I was taking a break. 39 pages left to edit, and then it's on to my 2nd editing project of the week. I love "my" authors - they keep me busy!

It's 2:47am and here I am again, checking out GR in the middle of the night. Taking a break from my book, having a good buddy read with this one. GI upset and leg/hip pain, not a good night, so I identify with you Kyle and Dan. Here's hoping it gets better for all of us...

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 5:01 a.m. EST Well this is annoying. I couldn't fall asleep. now I have to finish this editing when I'm really not completely with it... 'cause there's no point trying to start a book. When I feel like this, odds are the only way I'm fallin' asleep is drugging myself, and I'm not doing that right now. Nope. There is fog out there and I wanna see it when it lightens up a bit, there will be sun later and I wanna enjoy it. so... here goes nothin'... :-)

6:25 a.m. EST Okay, setting up my next book and reading. I'm heading outside soon to see if the fog is as thick as the weather map says. I love fog.

10:54AM Thinking my happy rays did not pass very quickly to everyone. Quiet here this AM no pitter patter of little feet. Grandbaby went home last night. I love the breaks, but miss him horribly when he is gone. Gonna put a bigger dent in my book today! I am loving it.

Dan dont read 11/22/63 too quickly, I will be reading it soon lol. Hope you get back to yourself soon.

Kyle back pain sucks. Hope it does not get worse. And hope you are feeling better soon.

Terri same to you girl. I feel for you! I know it must stink. For me it is usually my knees that kill. And mostly wet weather time which we are having so much of it right now.
