What time is it and what are you doing?

yes, you do! so far that crap hasn't hit the fan yet.. but it is getting there. i feel the creepiness settling in... :O

10:19 p.m. EST - just up from a bit of a nap, although I didn't actually sleep that much, but I did rest my eyes and that's what was important. Clearing out e-mail and then back to editing.

It's 7:00am on a bitterly cold morning. Cuddled up under my great-grandmother's quilt with a cup of hot coffee and the puppy by my side. Having trouble walking today even with my cane (hip/leg fracture 1 year ago), so this will be a day of sitting on the couch reading (oh, torture me...). Make it a good one all my friends on GR!!
(Kathryn, can't wait to hear how you're doing!)
(Kathryn, can't wait to hear how you're doing!)

Terri, so sorry to hear you have so much pain; the cold does make it worse, doesn't it? I know I'm hurting a lot today, too, but my meds are keeping it mostly managed. Take advantage of your reading time and enjoy that puppy! I was looking at a Poodle rescue site today; I would love to have a standard poodle someday, but right now it's just a dream. With three cats and a dog already in this tiny place, we couldn't fit a full-sized dog. But maybe a tiny pocket pup... I would love to have one of those really tiny little dogs I could carry around in my pocket or a small bag... :-)
9:53AM Sipping my coffee and checking GR. Hope everyone is having a good day so far!
Terri so sorry you are in so much pain. Its no fun to be hurting! Get well wishes to you!
Kathryn the new job sounds exciting. I hope you continue to enjoy it.
Alondra, I love when we have great books to read! hehe takes the mind off of other things.

Teri, I hope you enjoy your day of reading, and also hope the pain gets better that must be terrible.
11:19 AM and I'm waiting for my lunch break in a few hours. My stomach is rumbling and visions of cheese burgers are dancing in my head.

We miss you too, Kathryn!

FB makes it so easy to remember so many friends' bdays, doesn't it? I'm sure it has saved a lot of people!

Terri, I'm sure that's very uncomfortable, sorry to hear that. Have you tried stretching to ease the stress on your bones a bit?
It's 4:05pm and I just want to say thanks for the concern and suggestions from my GR friends. The pain is manageable with medication, it's the diminished mobility that's so frustrating. And Tee, stretching definitely helps. It's important to move as much as possible and not get frozen up. Katy, I worked the night shift for many years and know how frustrating it is to try to sleep during the day. I used to try total isolation mode--blindfold and ear plugs--but I think I went years without feeling well-rested!

glad the job is going well :)
gizmo and pepper just need to get used to the new schedule and they'll fall back into their routine (of course they will still miss you)

katy & terri
hope your day has improved- this cold weather is horrible- can't wait for spring

JANIE!!!!! So good to hear from you, too!!! I MISS YOU! :)

1.46pm Trying to have a quick bite to eat and checking out GR - I've been so busy for the last two weeks, I haven't had any time to keep up to date with what's going on with everyone! Hope you are all well :)

Trying to catch up with everything now but our grape vintage has just started which means work is extremely busy and will only get busier and this unfortunately eats into my GR and reading time :(
Well that is understandable, life must come first! I will be busy myself this weekend helping my daughter into her new place. So not sure how much I will be around.

Sorry if you've already mentioned it, but I haven't been on here much for the last week or so so I'm a bit out of touch, I'm curious to know what you're doing in your new job?

Hope the move goes well! I always dread moving house :/

Let me add my voice to your birthday wishes, Michelle; your birthday was last week? 30th? I sort of remember my 30th birthday... X-D That was a lifetime ago for me... different husband, different state, different lifestyle. That husband had a really good income and we were living in a huge apartment in a really nice complex, so I invited everyone I knew to a party, but only about 5 people showed up. Still, we had fun, even though my husband forbade smoking in the house and it was really REALLY hot out on the balcony and there were grumbles of discontent over having to go outside to smoke... Heh. Two years later and I was celebrating 32 with a new husband and a new set of friends in a new state, new city, new everything. Crazy life... that was over a decade ago and I'm still down here, so can't be too bad.
I'm sorry to ramble at you, but I was hoping the internet would be up by now, and it is not... this post will have to sit and wait for it to come up before I can post it. Finished at 12:28 a.m. EST
1:05 a.m. EST *throwing a tantrum* DAMNIT IT IS STILL DOWN... grrrrr. Have been reduced to attempting to content edit the earlier part of this manuscript since I don't have access to the dictionary for the last bit... although I don't need to use it often, I'm certain since I don't have access to it there will be the need every other sentence... grrrrrr
Posting at: 1:52 a.m. EST (lot of wasted time!)
It's 6:31am EST on another frigid morning. The coffee is so comforting this morning! So good to hear from you Kathryn! Glad things are going well for you. Happy 30th, Michelle! For me that also seems a lifetime ago...Katy, what a frustrating night! Janie, good luck with the move. It's so good to come on GR and catch up with everyone! It's a special part of my day. Plans for today: laundry, make bread, lots of reading!

Terri, I used to make homemade bread all the time when I lived with my parents. I would even grind fresh wheat and mix it with white flour to achieve the perfect consistency for my bread, and would sweeten it with honey. It was awesome. Very good for taking our your frustrations, too... :-)

P.S. I have so many messages and junk to catch up on on GR!!! AH!
8:45AM Checking out GR and then have to go run errands. I will take some more time to read hopefully today as well. Oh and yes
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELLE!
Have a great day everyone!

Have a great day everyone!

Thanks, Holly - I'm used to having difficulty sleeping. I just hate when I'm moving this slow on a manuscript when I have another scheduled for next week, and I also don't like working past 4 a.m. on Friday mornings, to give myself a couple days to read. Still, I'll make due.
Chris, so nice of you to fix dinner! :-)
