Corey | 1411 comments 10:22AM Got some sad news today, I got a call from my Dad and he said he had to have his cat put to sleep, I think he was about 15 or 14 years old, he lived a good life but in the end he just wasn't doing well. but he's not suffering anymore. My Dad doesn't like to see his pets suffer, and nor do I.

Alissa Patrick (apatrick12211) so sorry Corey! It's so sad when an animal passes away, they are definitely part of the family. a 14-15 year old cat is amazing! What great memories your dad must have of him. I hope your dad's heart heals quickly =)

7:54AM Kay off to school and I am about to read. This book has been great. After I finish with this one I am going to pick up One Rainy Night by Laymon. I feel like it is tme for a laymon read.

Corey I am so sorry to hear about your dads cat. It is so sad to lose a pet. We lost our cat earlier this year as well, he was almost 11 years old. They are truly a part of the family.

Holly I hate when I can't decide on what book to read. Sometimes I will just choose the shortest one so instead of putting me into a slump it gears me up for the next one to read. I have a lot of great scary books for this month. I am hosting a spookfest read-a-thon Oct 25th-30th and here are the books I will be reading for that.
Dolores Claiborne
The Ruins
Spirit Walk
Trauma

Plus I am reading other non scary books this month like Code Zero that I already read, Afraid to Die, also read, and The Iron Daughter. I might be reading One Rainy Night as well. Good luck on choosing your books.

Can't sleep. Got a horrid cough, and whenever I lay down I have a coughing fit /: I hate being ill. My 2yr old has the same cough at the moment, too :(
On a plus note it meant he wanted lots of cuddles today and I can read during cuddles :) So it's not so bad in that respect. I should finish Murder on the Mind on my kobo tomorrow, and aiming to finish The Quick on Monday :)

11:28PM Well had some storms come through last night and it knocked out internet out from 1:00AM till 6:00PM this evening, what a drag that was. I now know that I would not do well w/o my internet. I did get to read quite a lot today and I will finish this current read by tomorrow. I also got a Mega Monday book Haul recorded and then uploaded one we got our internet back. So now I am headed off to bed. G'night GR friends.

7:21PM Well I have a cranky knee today. Can barely put weight on it due to the pressure I feel when I do. It is uncomfortable. Finished One Rainy Night, it was written Laymon classic style and I enjoyed it for the most part. Some of it got pretty graphic. I picked up Between the lines by Jodi Picoult and her daughter. I have had this book for ages and finally got to it.

8:57AM A beautiful morning here this morning and is supposed to reach 83 today last I heard. Plan on doing some reading today while trying not to make that the only thing I do, it is hard, I find once I finish a book I go right to another one. Really? So now I am reading Blue is for Nightmares. I found the first few pages very odd, but creepy at the same time. Not sure how I feel about at this point.

message 12442: by Corey (new)

Corey | 1411 comments 7:52 p.m. Had a busy day today, I had signed up for a First Aid and CPR training session and I went to that today. I feel like I learned a lot from it, it was a great experience for me. We talked about stuff like what to do if someone for example cuts themself or if someone passes out, what you do to help that person until help arrives. It was certainly a lot of information to absorb and take in, but like I said it was a great experience.

Now I'm just getting ready to settle in for the night, I might read for a minutes, not gonna be up too late tonight, hope everyone has a great night.

✨Susan✨ (suswelch) | 904 comments Awaken 6am today. Nightmares. Eek. Not even from a book. Cooked most of yesterday, Southwest Pasta Salad, Frosted Banana Bars, Meatloaf and a rice and cheesy medley. 3 lb. meatloaf all Gone. I never follow a recipe, it must have been a good one.

Our fridge went out last week so I am shopping for replacement foods today. Argh.

Hope all have a great reading weekend!

8:27AM Wow this thread has been really quiet lately. This morning my daughter came early so she could get her Queso warmed up for a work pot luck they are having. It is the same recipe they had when she worked at Freebirds world Burrito. Tastes exactly the same and she promised she would make it for us sometime. So I finished Iron Daughter in the wee morning hours and LOVED it. My review is up. For my vlog though I think I will do a series review once I finish all of them. This has ben a great read along so far. So today I will read more of Chocolate Covered Forbidden Fruit until my Spookfest Read-a-thon starts on the 25th. If y'all would be interested in joining in on the read-a-thon, please feel free. Here is the link t my vlog for more info. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lro6L...

✨Susan✨ (suswelch) | 904 comments Good morning Janie, hope you are enjoying October! For me it has just kind of blown by. Fall is really falling away too quickly. I am so happy that our Boys are rocking it this year, hope they all stay healthy. We are suposed to go to the 11/2 game against the Cardinals with my Father-in-law. Excited for their visit and the game.

Glad you enjoyed the Iron Daughter. I too am reading a book in a fantasy series Clean Sweep. It's pretty good. Different enough that I will probably read another. I am trying to go through my library and read all the spooky kind of books that I have, similar to your spookfest week reads.

What is Ave going to be for Halloween? I remember his great light costume from last year.

Alissa Patrick (apatrick12211) At work. Boo. how is it only Wednesday? ;-)
I'm juggling a few books now- Fangirl and 2 ebooks American Psycho, and In Cold Blood, which I had started and gotten 40% through, but then had to return it to the library in late August and I JUST now got it back. Sheesh. Haha I hope I can remember it! I'm planning on reading that on my lunch break today.

Amelia is going to be a cupcake for Halloween. I can't wait. <3
