Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:32 PM. Good evening, GR! Mark brought home pizza for dinner as a surprise. He worked outside for a bit, while I read, did dishes, and then we watched a little tv. We had our pizza, and after we ate I had some anxiety, and I have say....my husband is the best...He talked to me and calmed me down, made me feel better, and just talking to him made me feel better. I played with the kitties a bit, then had a little ice cream. While Mark was on the phone, I have been reading. I'm tired and ready to go read in bed. Goodnight, Gr. Going to try to finish my book by tomorrow.

Took my little man to playgroup this morning, then came home, and just finishing today's disc of the audiobook of Silverthorn and then going to head off and read Eldest. Got a support worker coming to see me this afternoon, but planning to get a lot of reading done both before and afterwards :)

9:32AM Well last day of school here! YAY! Will be nice not to set an alarm. No plans but reading for today, maybe a walk later we will see. Patiently waiting for my iphone arm band to arrive. They are so nice to have when walking or running or maybe if I choose to play basketball. Gonna be very warm again today but that is ok with me.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 9:43 AM. Good morning, GR! Well, I have been up since Mark was getting ready for work. I have been messing around on the internet, catching up on notifications, messages on FB, and the like. Breakfast was two Eggo waffles and orange juice. I plan to finish my book and start the new one. I think I can do it! I just need to focus, Focus, FOCUS! It shouldn't be too hard, though. Anyways, I hope you all have a great day!

Cindy, you accomplished more than i did in AGOT. I read over 100 pages and threw in the towel. Too many people, too many things going on for me. I really wanted to read it and get through the rest of the series, but I think fantasy just isn't my thing.

Janie, WOOHOO!!! I always loved the last days of school, knowing a summer of reading was ahead for me! I actually kind of miss it! :)

4:30 p.m. and I'm keeping an eye on the weather. Forecasters said that if the sun came out, even for a short time, that it would significantly increase our severe threat. I'm not the type of person that freaks out or anything, but I'm not stupid either. Just keeping an eye out.

Kathryn - Please don't give up on fantasy. There are lots of wonderful books in this genre that don't have as much stuff to keep track of.

Corey | 1411 comments 8:30 p.m. Just got back home, I went out to dinner with my Dad, we had a fun night, now I'm gonna crawl into bed and read for a while.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 7:53 PM. Good evening, GR! I just finished getting cleaned up after having a nice walk on the treadmill. I finished The One and Only earlier today, got my review written up, and it ended up being a four star read. I am waiting on the oven to heat up to stick the casserole we are having for dinner in the oven. Mark ended up eating a bunch of stuff after he got home because he didn't eat lunch, so dinner was delayed tonight. LOL. I am going to start Red Dragon by Thomas Harris tonight. I need some darkness in my life!! haha!!!!

10:42PM So my desktop motherboard/CPU crapped out on me and my laptop is about to I think, so my sweet hubby ordered me a new one. YAY! So that is exciting! Just had sandwiches for dinner and then took a walk. I have gotten to read quite a bit today. Started The Vow this evening and will no doubt finish it tomorrow, it is a pretty easy read.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 8:07 AM. Good morning, GR. I foresee a nap in my very near future. I have had a weird couple of nights where I wake up at about 4:30-5 AM, and am up until 6 AM, or so. It's kind of wearing me out, especially since I try not to take a nap during the day so I can sleep better. Anyways, I'm eating a bowl of cereal, drinking a small glass of orange juice, and listening to some music while I catch up on GR and the like. I ended up not starting Red Dragon last night because I was tired, so I will be starting it today. My dad said he read it years ago and thought it was boring...but he doesn't normally read fiction. LOL.

Cindy, yeah, I will have to try something else in the fantasy genre. Maybe when I feel adventurous enough to try it again, I will ask you for a recommendation. :)

message 11662: by Alissa (new)

Alissa Patrick (apatrick12211) I agree with Cindy- give fantasy a chance!! It's a genre that has grown on me!! =)

8:59AM It was SO nice sleeping in today YAY! Gonna finish The Vow today. I wanted to finish last night but I got really tired so I went to bed instead. It is a pretty good read. I had Hub get me the movie so I can watch it when I finish the book. Only like 60 pages to go. And I will finish that before he gets home.

Kathryn I really liked Red Dragon, I liked pretty much the whole series. Hope you are able to get into it.

6:45 p.m. and I'm jealous. I have to get up at 5:30 a.m. every morning to babysit. That's OK, at least it's a little cash since my health refuses to let me get anything else. Besides, I love kids (most of the time) - LOL.

Alondra Miller 7:03 p.m. I am already sleepy. I have been in bed by 8, every night this week and my reading has suffered. Hopefully, I will have something read by this weekend. Both Rook and Assassins Code are fantastic, but I just want my Blankie! :/

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 7:05 PM. Good evening, GR! I had a nice walk on the treadmill earlier, got a shower, and shortly after, Mark got home. He is outside cutting the wood for my bookshelves! I wish I could help him, but I really would be in the way. Plus, I am quite scared of the saws he uses...I'm afraid I will cut a finger or hand off. LOL. I'm going to make breakfast for dinner tonight...YUM! I also did some things around the house, so I haven't done much reading today. The computer has also distracted me, so I'm thinking I should get off of the computer and go read. :) Anyways, I hope you've all had a great day!

Lucy, I love productive reading days like that! :)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:05 PM. We watched the last half of the Spurs-Heat basketball game after dinner. The Spurs won, so I can't complain. Breakfast for dinner was yummy. Especially the potatoes I made. Anyways, going to lay in bed and try to read a few pages. I'm kind of sleepy. My Gizbaby better get her cute butt to bed and snuggle!

message 11672: by Kit★ (last edited Jun 05, 2014 09:26PM) (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 345 comments 12:26 p.m had a busy day carting boxes of junk over to my grandparents for our annual huge yard sale. Setting up took forever, got everything over there and started unpacking it at like 4 or so, and before I knew it, it was almost 9. The sale's tomorrow and Saturday, hoping to offload some stuff and get me some book money xD
Since we were over there so late, I debated running through a drive-thru for dinner, but decided to wait until I got home. Then I had a pb & j with some chips. Was no cheeseburger and fries, but it was tasty enough, and it worked, lol.
Anyway, off to finish catching up with everything, then to bed :D

Alissa Patrick (apatrick12211) 9:51a. at work. its a bit slow so im been pecking away at Lolita. So far its a good book, but the subject matter is obviously disturbing.
We will be a bit busy this weekend- taking Amelia to her swim class, shopping at Target (which never goes as planned... go in for 3 items come out with 25 haha), and my nephews 3rd birthday party at 3p. We have nothing planned for Sunday though, so lets hope for some relaxation and reading time!

message 11678: by [deleted user] (new)

Alissa, I have the same problem whenever I go to Target! I also seem to come out with more then one item and most of it is stuff I don't really need but was just too good to past up:)

I plan on reading some after I get off of GR. I have quite a bit of laundry to fold, so I will probably turn on one of my favorite movies, and have a laundry folding party. (I used to hate when my dad said that! haha!) The kitties are watching some squirrels out in the backyard. I can tell they want the squirrels so badly! Friday is finally here! I decided to fold the laundry, wash and dry the sheets on the bed, and I even put stuff in the dishwasher to get it cleaned. While my food digests, I'm going to read for a bit and load the dishwasher. I really need to get more into Red Dragon. I was going to read last night, but I decided to get the sleep, which was completely worth it. After reading, I am going to get my exercise on! Woohoo!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hi, all! Cindy, sorry to hear your grandson is still AWOL. Terri, how are you? Hope you're hanging in there.

5:17 p.m. EDT Well, yeah... I went into antisocial mode this week and didn't log in for a few days. Oops. Anyway, I managed to do a good bit of reading, and finally had to break down and log in today to write two reviews before I forgot everything I wanted to write about! :-) Saw the first fireflies of the season yesterday, so I was excited about that. However, I was undercatted, so wasn't able to go outside and commune as I like to do. Still, I could see them out the window. Right as the display was ending (they are mostly just active at gloaming, and rarely seen later in the night) a storm broke. It just rained like crazy for a minute, then shut off like someone turned a faucet. Then a few minutes later it started up again. Crazy. Yesterday Dmitry and I went to lunch at DePalma's again; pasta is something I can manage even with the mouth sores. Yesterday in the evening we went to Target - a friend had sent me some gift cards - and I picked up some pretty new nail polishes and a nail treatment, then we went to Waffle House. I just had some sweet tea, while Dmitry had a waffle. I was peeved because at lunch our server didn't keep track of us and we kept running out of sweet tea and having to wait for her to come around, and the last time, she filled Dmitry's glass, but not mine, even though I was almost empty. It really ticked me off... *sigh* It was such good tea, I wanted more! We tend to be big tippers, but I told Dmitry to only give her the bare minimum since she was not keeping tabs on us and hadn't given me a refill. Anyway, nothing too terribly exciting around here. I'm just going through the minimum emails and then back to reading, but since I was offline for several days, the minimum is still a lot!

1:25AM Getting ready to hit the hay but wanted to check in one more time before sleep! I did not read much today, we were out again and I got myself some new summer shirts, so that is always fun. We have pretty much been looking after one of Kay's friends because her dad is too busy with his girlfriend. :::sigh::: some people should just not be parents. So it is like having another daughter. Listening to the audio book. I'm on disc 9 of 14. The OH and the almost 2 year old are watching Pokemon on TiVo, and I'm checking GR while listening :) Got nothing planned today, and I am glad, as the weather is awful out there. OH has to cycle half an hour to work, later, too :( He's going to be drenched!

9:44AM Feeling a little yucky today, not sure why. But my tummy is just a little upset. I am drinking my coffee this morning. Slept till 8:30 and did not wanna get up since I did not go to bed till 2:00AM. LOL No plans for me today since Hub and my oldest daughter Amy are going to the indy car races this evening. They got pit passes as well. He won them at work since DHL had a car in the race. Best for Amy to go since she will enjoy it more than I will.

Katy, it was so good to hear your update. I certainly understand what it's like not to feel like posting sometimes. Just do it as you can, we all appreciate it. I'm glad you can eat pasta!

Janie, hope you feel better!

It's noon and we just got back from getting our hair cut. Larry is playing some great guitar music on his computer (John Renbourne). It's been a while since we enjoyed music together. Charlie and I have had a walk already, he's sacked out in front of the door. It's an absolutely gorgeous spring day. I plan a library trip in a while (getting some great stuff I have reserved) and then I plan an afternoon of reading. Made bread yesterday, so we'll have that and a big garden salad for dinner. An almost perfect day...

Just catching up on a couple of episodes of Revenge after reading another 100 pages of Brisingr and finally getting my almost 2 year old to sleep. I put him to bed at 7 and he's only just asleep now! Looking forward to tomorrow, though, we're off to see both of his Nanny's for a couple of hours. I'm unlikely to get as much reading done tomorrow, but I will try my best to reach my 100 page a day target!!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:47 AM. Good morning, GR! This weekend was busy! We got up on Saturday and went to two state parks, one with real dinosaur tracks you can look at. On our way home, we stopped by to see my Grandpa because we took a different route home and passed by his house. We stayed there about an hour, then came home, and took a nap. Then we rented Ender's Game, which was a really good movie! We also went to Lowe's. Sunday, Mark worked on cleaning the garage, and I worked on cleaning the house and doing laundry. It was a nice weekend. They are always too short. We woke up this morning to heavy storms, which we really need. We both normally sleep through thunder and lightning, but we haven't had any in so long, it kind of freaked us out. haha! Mark wants me to wait to exercise until he gets home so he can start exercising with me. So, the only things I have to do before he gets home are read and do the dishes. I hope it rains more today.

message 11696: by Victor (new)

Victor 10:52 AM I woke up a little while ago. I stayed up until two AM to finish my book. I didn't expect to finish it yesterday since I had about 400+ pages left, but it was so good.
