12:25 p.m. and I'm reading. The grandson didn't come home until 2;30 a.m. this morning and had me worried to death. I guess I'm gonna have to ask the courts to put him into foster care. I love him dearly and hate to do it but lately he refuses to follow any rules. Makes me sad. He did so well for a while.

12:46 p.m. and a change of plans. My daughter called and said I could come over and wash clothes. Money has been really tight since I haven't been working and since I have about eight loads - guess where I'm going? Have to go by the doctor's office to have blood drawn also. Should take up the majority of my day. Maybe I'll get some reading done tonight.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 2:15 PM. Hey, GR! Well, it looks like I was wrong. It is suddenly overcast, and there are sort of heavy storms to the immediate west of me. I think I hear thunder now. We can use more rain. Anyways, I'm eating some macaroni salad and a sandwich with ice water before I head out the door to run a few errands. I read a little earlier, ordered some shorts off of Old Navy, wrote my Grandma's best friend a card because I've been thinking about her, and got the dishes going. I'm looking forward to getting back home because I want to read and get started on laundry.

Alissa Patrick (apatrick12211) 3:27PM EST. im at work. blah. but leaving at 4 for the day. Then I'm going to pick up my daughter from the sitter's and we'll do our nightly routine: go home and play until Daddy comes home, then eat dinner, play some more, bathtime, bottle and bedtime at 7. then it's getting my work stuff ready for the next day, plus get Amelia's stuff ready- re-pack diaper bag, make up bottles, etc. Then I have to study and do work on an assignment from my online class- Medical Terminology. and hopefully once that is all done, I will have time to start a new book

Frankly, I find this so heart warming! Nothing silly about it at all. I hand written letter to a friend is an incredible gift as far as I am concerned."

Well, we've known one another for a long time, and she's one of the few people who can read my handwriting relatively well. I used to ask her what I had written in my own notes because even I couldn't read it... *laugh* I have several more letters I want to write, but I have the shakes really badly today and trying to write would not work well. It'll be bad after chemo for several days, but hopefully by next weekend I'll stabilize and can write the others.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, Cindy, I'm so sorry. Can you effectively ground him, or some other form of punishment for misbehavior that might work? My parents used to ground me over every little thing (seriously, I was grounded for a month because Mom heard me say "damn"), but then again we lived 30 miles from town, so it wasn't like I could sneak out my window and go out and about without them knowing it... And we were long-distance from everyone, so I couldn't make phone calls. Really the only reliable source of communication I had back in those days was to write a letter.

3:59 p.m. EDT Managed a fair bit of sleep today, which was good, but I'm feeling sort of "off" today, and my hands are shaking. Not sure what the problem is. Just clearing out some e-mail before I return to reading and finish The Six-Gun Tarot The Six-Gun Tarot by R.S. Belcher by R.S. Belcher. He's a pretty cool dude, and this is a super weird book. Very Lovecraftian in the Weird West with a bit of steampunk influence. The county is here trimming tree branches away from the power lines. I'm hoping they won't come over by the house - we have The Thistle that Ate Wyoming growing here by the duplex and I want to have a picture of me standing by it. The thing is seriously taller than the eves of our duplex, must be almost 10 or 11 feet tall, and several buds on it - one is open. I did take a picture using my camera phone, but it turns out that I can't e-mail it to myself because I don't have a data plan and I don't want to end up paying for the usage charges. Erasmus is sitting here on my Kindle. Oh, he's now on my lap. It was funny, he sort of stretched like he was just stretching and moved one foot at a time over to my lap. My silly boy. And now back to the Kindle. This lap desk is freakin' awesome (it was a gift from one of my authors shortly after I was diagnosed since with the ostomy bag holding the computer on my lap was a bad situation). It even has a little drawer on the side for stuff. I have it full of pens... :-) This is it:

Right, off I go!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 3:42 PM. I was at Home Depot and the storms hit as I was walking to my car. It is dark, POURING rain, and windy. I had to pull over and wait out the rain a bit and calm myself before I felt like I could make it home. I got home a few minutes ago, safely, and now I'm watching the storms and checking the weather reports. Scary stuff.

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) I need to write back to my pen pal and best friend soon but a lot has been going on lately. It's almost 4 pm and going to go read, watch a movie, and prob write my best friend leslie back as well as journal later on tonight and work on more of my web serial. I'm writing chapter 12 of it right now.

21:18 EST The nice thing about reading is that when the world has exhausted you, reading will always (well, mostly always) relax you and take you away from it all. Enjoy, Cindy. :-)

Hmm... could be!

10:49 p.m. EDT I forgot to mention earlier that we did not go have lunch today because Dmitry has been feeling under the weather for a few days and he needed the extra sleep. I see he bought some hamburger, so I'm hoping he'll make some Hamburger Helper tonight so I can have one decent meal before chemo tomorrow. I sure hope he comes home soon, 'cause already I won't have enough sleep before the alarm goes off in the morning... Re-reading one of my favorites, Vengeance Vengeance by A.J. Scudiere by A.J. If not, not...

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:20 PM. I'm laying in bed and getting ready to read. It seems I mildly sprained my ankle when I slipped in the storms today walking to my car. I'll be fine, though. I did my grocery shopping, came home and put the groceries up, and waited for Mark to get home. When he got home, I made spaghetti. It was so tasty! I cleaned up the kitchen, then we relaxed a bit and talked. It's nice what we do with our evenings since we don't have cable. I'm going to read for a while. Goodnight, GR.

Katy, good luck tomorrow. I will be praying for you. The lap desk does look neat, by the way. I used one in college which had a black plastic top and a purple felt-like material with foamy beans in it, like a bean bag.

8:10AM Wow I was not hear at all last night but I was a very busy girl. We swapped rooms with my son. So now the library is in his old room and he took the library. When he told me he was all for it, I was shocked really because the library was smaller. So well finally made the switch although it took all day to get it done. I am glad we finally did it, so now I can fit in more book cases which is awesome. Good Morning GR!

Corey | 1411 comments 12:35 P.M. Hey everyone, last night I got back from my Grandmother's last night, we spent the day packing everything and stuff she didn't want to keep we gave to charities. Hopefully if everything goes as planned we'll get her moved down this weekend, last night I got home at about 8:30, one of my Grandmothers friends gave me a lift home. I've had hardly any time to read because I've just been so damn busy, and last night I was so tired that when I got home I went right to bed. My Grandmother's really anxious to get moved down.

Accompanied by sliced tomatoes with feta cheese, olive oil, Modene balsamic vinegar, and early spring thyme from my garden (it's the only thing in there currently :-).

Having coffee, dreading work today because we are having construction in our offices. So, in addition to having to pack my office up and move furniture out, there will be dust and noise for the next two weeks or so.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 8:20 AM. Good morning, GR. I have actually been up since about 6 this morning. For some reason, I was just wide awake. After I make some coffee, I plan to finish Fangirl. I almost don't even want to finish it because I like it so much. Oh well! At least I own it and can re-read it. :) Gizmo is still in bed, (that's normal), Pepper is looking outside and is happy, (normal, too), and Mark is at work, (also, normal). So, the house is quiet and in good shape to read to finish my book. :) Happy Wednesday, everyone!

3:27 p.m. EDT Too lazy to log in yesterday. The doctor who read my scans sucked, he left off a lot of info that we need. He did point out that my pancreas ans spleen were good, but the tumors in my liver have grown some. We switched out one medicine for another, and I'm quite happy about that because the one we switched out had the potential to cause permanent nerve damage, made my hands and feet cramp and spasm and have pins and needles, and made me hyper-sensitive to cold. So, I don't have any of that to deal with anymore and can again have popsicles and frozen yogurt! Yay! I need to call my doctor's office to see if she managed to contact dumbass and find out about the other places where I have tumors... *sigh* I spent about 12 hours sleeping, then have been up cuddling cats and going through e-mail and having some cereal and drinking Gatorade and a Guru energy drink. Very exciting day! *laugh*
