8:43PM Got to feeling a bit better as the day went on today. Had my Niece Shelby over for a bit today, so it was nice to see her again. We flew a kite again today, Kayla wanted to try out Aeverie's and it did so much better. She has been doing it because they are constructing their own in Geometry this week. If it flies they get a 100 if not they get a 0 does not seem fair but it's whatever so Kay is trying to learn the right way to fly one.

That don't see very fair Janie. They don't get any points at all for effort?

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:34 PM. It was another busy day/weekend, but it was great! I am worn out! I have a nice reading day planned for tomorrow, so hopefully something doesn't come up to spoil my plans. I really want to get through at least half of Gone Girl tomorrow because of not reading this weekend. Goodnight, GR!

7:50AM Still not quite up to par but had a cup of tea and that always soothes and makes me feel better. I plan to read read read, I keep saying that and then something happens. LOL But I wanna finish this book by tomorrow. I first wanted to finish it today well that's not happening. So gonna shoot for tomorrow now LOL.

Cindy I don't know what the teacher is thinking. Maybe she told them that to get them all to try harder. First she tells them ok you need kite string and only Wal-Mart sells the stuff that works. Only problem is no one found it at Wal-Mart. WTF? We ended up buy her a dollar kite just to have the string. Then she says they need straws, but no bendy ones. Good grief everywhere sells the bendy straws. Luckily Randy had been saving straws at work and they had a whole drawer full. So that worked out. They seem to wanna make things so hard these days.

Kathryn I hope you get your relaxing day of reading today. After everything you have been doing, you certainly deserve that much. So kick back with your coffee and open that book! hehe

5 Best ways to avoid something spoiling your plans:

(5) Hide:
broom closets are kind of tight for space though

(4) Don't answer the front door:
even better, put up a sign up saying "House under quarantine. Go away!"

(3) Don't answer the phone:
If someone complains later, tell them your service was unexplicably down.

(2) Don't go outside the house:
A pesky neighbor might see you and rat you out!

(1) Don't catch up on GR:
I know. That's the hardest one of all.

:-)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:10 AM. Good late morning, GR! I have been a busy bee this morning. So I can enjoy my extra long day today, I have been busy starting laundry, dishes, sweeping, and I'm about to leave to go run three quick errands. Then, when I get home.....I'm going to get into a nice comfortable spot and...and....and.......READ!!!! ALL DAY LONG. I would love to get through most of Gone Girl today. I already have my dinner planned out, (veggie fried rice), which I am very excited about because I've been wanting fried rice for about two weeks, and I'm just hoping the rest of the day goes as planned and I get a lot of reading done. Okay, off I go! I will, of course, check into GR. :)

Thanks, Janie!!! I hope you get lots of reading done, too!

Pierre, haha!!!! I like your list! But, you are definitely correct. I'm going to run my errands, so I won't have any distractions. Except the two cats. :) And yes, #1 on your list is the hardest of all. Wait....I've already broken rule #1!!! Oops! ;)

2:00 p.m. and I want to read a bit, but might not last without a nap. Didn't sleep one single minute last night for some reason. No pain, not sick. Just couldn't sleep. Might lay down for a bit and try again.

message 11213: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Sorry you couldn't sleep, Cindy. It's so aggravating when that happens. I hope you continue to improve and be free of pain.

Janie, sorry about the cold. Hot tea with lots of honey always works well for me.

2:49 p.m. EDT I spent all of yesterday in bed. Mostly sleeping. Have some stuff going on that makes it uncomfortable to sit up right now, so prefer to recline, which means using the computer is something I'd prefer to avoid. So rushing through e-mail and then back to reading.

message 11214: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh Katy. I'm sorry to hear that you can't sit very long. Hopefully, the recliner is comfortable :D

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 7:15 PM. Good evening, GR! I'm taking a break from reading to cook dinner, which is actually a pretty quick dinner because I made the rice for veggie fried rice last night. I have been enjoying my reading, but of course, the day is going by quickly. Mark has a work meeting tonight, which was mandatory, so I'm not sure when he is going to be home. I bet it will be before I know it. When it gets a bit darker, I need to go water our plants outside. Dinner is almost done, so I'm going to read, read while I eat, and wait for The Boy to get home. I sure do miss him! Hope you all have had a great Monday!

Pierre, I love Peanuts! I was sad when they stop putting it in the paper. :( The Peanuts holiday videos for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are my favorites to watch during holidays. I'm such a kid at heart. :)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 9:04 AM. Good morning, GR!!!!!! Last night Mark told me I should go find a nursery today and get some plants to plant behind our deck outside in the backyard. He has been researching plants which detract mosquitoes. Sounds like a good idea to me! I plan to read for a few hours, then go look for the things Mark wants, then come home and read again. It looks like another beautiful day here, but steadily getting warmer. I am really enjoying Gone Girl, so I am really eager to get back to it because there is much mystery in it. Plus, I keep saying to myself in Alondra speak, "WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!" haha! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Pierre, loved the Peanuts cartoons! I've always loved Charles Schultz.

Katy, I think about you every day and hope that things will improve for you. It seems like so many little (will, not little really) health things that can get you down. I love your positive attitude, I'm sure it helps on a cellular level.

Cindy, I also think about you every day. I'm glad your surgery is over. I hate renal stents!! I've had them several times (lots of kidney stones), and one was so bad I pulled out the stent myself. (Nurses are such bad patients! I wouldn't recommend this course of action.)

Kathryn, I would love to come and see your yard!

Janie, a very belated Happy Birthday! Sounds like you had a great day, which you deserve!

2:07pm EDT. It's a beautiful day, just got home from taking Charlie for a walk. I never could have survived the last few weeks without Charlie. He knows that Larry and I are grieving, and he is so solicitous. He keeps coming to us for extra cuddles and extra playtime. The other day I was sitting on the couch just staring off into space, and Charlie got his tire (favorite toy) and actually maneuvered my fingers around it! I'm slowing trying to establish some routines, it's difficult, but I'm also slowly getting back to reading. I just take what comes moment by moment. I'm glad to have GR as a distraction and a support.

3:38 p.m. and I won't be on GR's at all today. No reading. I have been in the hospital and dealing with broken back, heart problems, and kidney stones for damn near five months now. Last couple of days I've felt really good and I'm ready to tackle the house. It hasn't been cleaned REALLY good since Jan. Will be back to reading and chatting tomorrow.

message 11229: by Corey (new)

Corey | 1411 comments 8:15 p.m. Today I've been really busy helping my mother with a lot of things. Right now we're working on getting my grandmother down to live in the same neighborhood as us, and I should mention that she is also my mom's mother, and so we're getting her to move into our neighborhood because her memory is really starting to get bad and she's getting to the point where she can't live by herself anymore, and the big problem is that she lives 3 hours away, so this way if she needs something she's just a few houses down, it'll be easier for her and us. Our plan is to go up next week and have the moving company load up all her furniture and stuff, and hopefully she'll be settled in by the end of the month.

message 11230: by Pierre (new)

7:44PM Went to the playground today and played a little basketball. We just had a fend day with dinner so I had a couple of Tacos that we had left over from last night. Finished Dracula today, it was a great read. Next I will read Incarnation.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 7:52 PM. Hey, hey, hey, good evening, GR! I'm sauteeing some onions and mushrooms for burgers on the grill for dinner. We are also going to have some watermelon. I went and got the Miracle-Gro and rose food. I was so happy this morning when I saw one of my beautiful yellow roses had bloomed. When I checked this afternoon, a second yellow rose had bloomed. They are very beautiful. When I got home, I read a few chapters in Gone Girl, and my aunt stopped by because she was in the area. It was nice seeing her. She said she is thinking of checking out this huge nursery this weekend and wanted to know if I wanted to go. I, of course, said "YES!" haha! I think I will update my blog quickly before dinner, then I need to do the dishes. I'm hoping to have kind of a relaxing evening....with my book...and lots of reading. haha!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:20 AM. Good morning, GR!!! I have been up for a while, but I had some things to take care of. When we moved, we transferred our electric service instead of canceling and getting a new company. Basically, they set up a new account for our new home, and we were charged $250 for an early termination fee, which we weren't supposed to be charged. Mark got our bill last night and needless to say, he was PISSED. So, I told him I would take care of it today. It was easier than I thought, but it was as I suspected and we weren't supposed to be charged the $250. Yay! I need to do some general cleaning, but I want to finish my coffee and read a little before I get busy. I really wanted to stay up and read Gone Girl more last night, but my eyes kept closing. Okay, off I go to read! :) Happy Wednesday, everyone!
