3:07 p.m. and I'm actually making some good progress with my reading. I guess the pain was slowing me down more than I realized. So happy to be reading 100+ pages a day again. Only thing is - sometimes I forget some stuff because of the pain meds, but it's not that bad.

6:17 PM. Working on adding books, etc. until Mark gets home. I miss him, and it's Friday, so I miss him even more. This weekend we will be cleaning out the garage. FUN. NOT. I had a lot of fun with Susan and Janie, and I actually got several books today. Most of them were books which are on my TBR shelf, so knocking a few off of the list is good. Now I've just got to read them. haha! :) Happy Friday, y'all!
8:00 p.m. and I'm gonna find something to read. Think I will start early on one of my May reads.
9:03 p.m. and I'm gonna watch some TV with Jeff and just kick back for a while.
10:34PM Wow what a great day today! Just got home from the Arts & Jazz festival. Had beautiful weather! Just being out with my family is amazing in itself! So now with achy back and feet I sit here relaxing and checking in my friends on GR!
8:13 AM. Good morning, GR!! Today looks like a beautiful day! We are going to clean the garage, and some other home stuff. Since it is mainly The Boy's stuff we are doing today, I think he should A. Make me coffee. (Which I hear him doing), and B. Take me out for breakfast. Lol. Going to need the fuel to clean that messy garage!
10:13 AM EST Glad to hear you have a nice day ahead of you Kathryn. Here it is gloomy, grey, and raining. Perfect somber day to finish my income taxes. When it rains, it pours.. money out of my pocket into the deep abyss of government treasury.
Or at least that's how this saying should end. :-)
I am attempting to read a bit but having quite a bit of pain today. Just taking it slow and resting when not reading.
9:41 HAHA who knows and likes the song from Wizard of Oz? "Ding Dong the witch is dead the wicked witch is dead...." That is my theme song for the day because now it is stuck in my head. Having a rather crazy morning, but a good one I must say! Today is gonna be an awesome day! I can feel it haha! Taking our Son in law out for his birthday dinner today! I have been waiting for this for a long time since we are going to Texas Roadhouse! But before that I must do my book haul vlog and then read for a bit and try to get through Brother Odd today!

5:54 p.m. and just got back from the zoo. My daughter took us and she even bought me a train and tram pass so I didn't have to walk the whole way. Don't think I could right now anyway. It was a fantastic day and the grandkids pretty much behaved. Plan on reading for a short time but I might dose off. We'll see. I'm just playing it by ear today.

7:22 PM. Good evening, GR. What a weekend! I'm sorry I haven't been around these last two days. Yesterday, we cleaned the garage for 6 1/2 hours. It was so humid, ugh...It made the task worse. We were beat afterwards. We did go to Half-Price Books and I bought The Light Between Oceans and a really neat Masonic Bible. My grandpa is a Mason and Shriner, so I thought it would be neat to have. We sold some books to the bookstore, so the money we got back actually paid for the Bible. Last night I worked on my owned books list. I had lost the book I put them in for when I go book shopping so I don't get duplicates, but we found it when we moved. I had gotten several new books since I had lost the notebook, so I had to work on putting my new books in it. We actually went to bed kind of early for us because we were worn out. Today, we got up and met Grandpa to eat barbecue, listened to some of his Air Force stories, (which were funny!) and went over to his house to pick up some things of my grandma's he wanted gone. He seems to be doing better, which is good. I think having us closer will help him. When we got home, we went to get a bird feeder for the backyard, which we set up. Now Mark is installing the new toilet we bought a few weeks ago. It's for our master bathroom, and the old toilet ran, which wastes water. And lots of it. While he has been doing that, I've been working on laundry and catching up on GR a bit. I really want to get some reading done before the weekend is over because my dad is supposed to come over tomorrow and stay the night because he is going out of town. Anyways, I better get back to my laundry, otherwise Mark won't have anything to wear to work this week. hahaha! I hope you all have had a great weekend! Pierre, sorry to hear you have had overcast skies. The sun being out is nice! However, I'm in Texas, and it's already getting warmed up. So, maybe here pretty soon, I'll be begging to trade you weather! :)
Rachel, we didn't get breakfast yesterday, but Mark did buy me dinner. haha! :)
8:41 p.m. and I think I'm gonna call it an early night.
8:59 p.m. Another great day gardening. Planning a gardening trip with my buddy. I am so excited. Going this weekend for some good old plant shopping, visiting historic gardens, and good food. Yea!!
Hi Bookworm Buddies! It's 9:41. I see that there were some great hauls this weekend! Good job :^) I just wanted to holler at you all. Have a great evening!
2:25 a.m. EDT Well, I last posted on the 18th, when I mentioned I was tired. I went to bed and basically stayed there until the 20th, only getting up for basic functions and to take medications. Saturday morning I was sick and my body went into some kind of purge state. By Sunday night I was so dehydrated that even standing made my heart race and I would feel like I was about to pass out, so I called Dmitry home from work and had him take me to the hospital. They admitted me because my electrolytes were way imbalanced, and I was in until Thursday evening. Since then I've just been trying to catch up, but my social media file has almost 1200 messages in it, so... it might be a lost cause. I might have to just delete most of them. We'll see. Anyway, I didn't do any reading while in the hospital - just watched TV and slept. Just finished I, Lucifer and started By Blood We Live. This is a hardcover book the publisher sent me and it's quite a sensual treat. The dust jacket is sort of rough, except for the foil moons, which are shiny red and slick like blood. The pages are edged in dark brown like dried blood, and under the dust jacket is a gorgeously bound book. I hate to sully it by reading it, but what I've read so far has me hooked! This coming week will be a busy one. I have an appointment tomorrow with the clinic that provides me anti-depressant and anti-anxiety meds. I hope I'll still be able to receive them now I'm on Medicaid. Tuesday is chemotherapy day. Thursday I go to see my surgeon because there is a sort of lump all around my stoma and I'm a bit concerned about it, then in the afternoon I turn in the infusion pump once the 5-FU is done (it is started on Tuesday after the rest of the chemo, but because it is so toxic it has to be dribbled in over 46 hours), then Friday I see the palliative care nurse at the oncology clinic for refills on my pain medications. I also need to call my primary care doctor and set up an appointment for refills on the meds he prescribes. It makes me tired just thinking about it! Anyway, I think I'll be logging off soon, read for awhile and then go to sleep. Thanks for asking after me, Terri. You take care of you! I did post up pictures of the various wigs on my Facebook page if anyone is my friend there. My new profile picture is my shaved head, and I also posted a status update earlier today with my favorite wig; it should be fairly easy to find if you go to my updates and click "all updates". I'd just put it here but I'm feeling a bit lazy at the mo... can't imagine why (It's the cat, he's sucking my will to stay awake...).
9:26 AM. Good morning, GR! I have quite a few things I need to do around the house because housework got neglected this busy weekend. I need to do dishes, laundry, clean the kitchen, etc. It shouldn't take me long once I turn up some music, but I also don't mind cleaning. :) After the housework is done, I plan to read, go to the grocery store, and by that time, my dad should be here or at least some time this evening. I better get busy! Have a great Monday, everyone!Alondra, I wish I could be your gardening buddy! Mark is actually putting in an irrigation system for his garden. I actually go out and water my stuff. LOL.
Jen, thank you! I love good book hauls!! I didn't expect to get that many books! I also have three coming this week or so in the mail. :)
Jaell, I think Janie has read Angelfall and World After. :)
10:08AM So we are at the start of a new week and I cant believe that April is almost over. I got my laundry just about done and had my breakfast. Finished Glimmer last night by Annie Waters. I discovered a few days ago that it was a signed copy too. So that is awesome. Gonna either not pick up another book till may or I will choose a light read. I have my Dracula read along May 2nd so I don't wanna read anything to heavy.
Katy keeping you in my prayers.
Alondra that will be an awesome time for you. My best friend in Jersey is crazy for gardening, I however am not. LOL Well except for pumpkins. Which is quickly approaching planting time.
Jaelle, I loved the Angelfall series, one of my favorites for the year. I can't say enough about them. Hope you enjoy them.

Kerstin wrote: "Katy - just wanted to send you a virtual hug. Keep your chin up !"Thanks, Kerstin. As you can see from my picture, I usually do... *laugh* Thanks also to Janie for your prayers.
11:45 a.m. EDT Was supposed to go to have my mental health meds filled today but early this morning my husband went to the store and when he came home he said one of his brakes was acting up, so instead I had to reschedule and he had to take the car to the shop to fix that brake. *sigh* So much for this month's cushion! I fell asleep reading this morning. I woke up a few hours later, still propped up on my bed chair, book in lap (and luckily bookmark in place; I tend tl just keep the bookmark in and move it as I go), glasses on my nose... Had a heckuva time staying awake long enough to call to change my appointment. I have finally managed to wake up, which is a pity because now I could take a nap... Oh, well, I'll go to bed early tonight. Chemo tomorrow, so I don't want to go into that overly tired. Hope y'all have a great day!
