7:22 a.m. EDT Today is supposed to be warm (high of 72, I think?) but rainy - showers this morning, thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Tomorrow it's dropping, high of only 62. Perfect... *Sigh* It's chemo day and I'll probably feel bad enough without cool humidity making my joints ache. Oh, well, hopefully the doc will at least refill my break-through pain meds!

9:39AM Doing laundry and gonna be reading soon. Very quiet here today. So I need to get cracking on Fractured. Tomorrow is the Coffin Dancer buddy read. Looking forward to that one.
11:16 AM Quebec income tax (impôts in french) blues, big time. It sucks being the most heavily taxed people in North America.

That's it, lol!
2:05pm EST. Finished the Book Thief on my lunch break. big mistake, because now I want someone to hug me, I want to cry.I loved the book but it is a very heavy read. I need something light and fluffy next to lighten my heart
@ 1:05 PMDoing some good reading today. Should finish my first novel today in the next couple of hours for sure. It's definitely going to be a 2-novel day. And boy do I need it for my challenge.
1:06PM Hubster just got home and I have been reading. Will be preparing dinner soon, gonna have some BBQ ribs tonight along with some au gratin potatoes. Sounds yummy. I would love to have my book done by tomorrow, but not sure that will happen. I might have to start The Coffin Dancer a day late, we will see.
Gavin I actually have a book jar but I use mine to add a book to my already picked TBR.

BBQ ribs with potatoes, Janie you're making me hungry and it's not even my dinner time yet, LOL!
1:47 PM. It's been kind of a weird day already. I can't believe how chilly it is, and I was supposed to be outside all day pulling weeds and putting in flowers. However, I decided to wait until this afternoon when it will be a bit warmer. I read a bit this morning and got the dishes going. Enjoying some lunch and I'm thinking about what all I need to do today. It's mainly all outside stuff, so I am glad I got some reading in this morning. When Mark comes home, we will be putting primer on the kitchen walls.Goodbye, mustard yellow! Haha!!!
4:57 p.m. EDT Tried to take a nap because I could not stay awake, but people were calling and texting and etc. and I didn't end up with much sleep. Had a headache when I woke, so drank a Starbucks DoubleShot (little espresso in a can) and that helped. Once I clear out some e-mail I guess I'll be reading.
@ 7:37 PMI've been feeling too sleepy lately a lot, too. It's one reason I'm not reading more. I need to adjust my medication I reckon.
For my second book I've decided to read along with the audio for The Accident which is surprisingly good so far. I'm going to be up late to finish this. The audio just slows me up too much, but I'm really liking it so far, so it's totally worth it. Been wanting to read more thrillers lately. I used to love em. When they're good they're grrrreeeeeeaaat.
9:06 p.m. and I had a doctor's apt today with the cardiologist. I finally broke down and actually told a doctor that I have been having chest pains and been ignoring them. His response "Oh well, your EKG looks fine". I have never heard of a doctor basically telling you it's OK to ignore chest pain. Especially when you have been diagnosed with a heart condition that makes you seven times more likely to have a stroke. Enough ranting. I actually brought my laptop to bed with me. I am tired and irritable today, so I am isolating myself in the bedroom to read.
9:52PM Actually had a bigger dinner than expected. Had our ribs and potatoes and then hub wanted the baked beans too, and then we had hominy also and I reheated the tuna and noodles from last night dinner. LOL A good way to clear out left overs. Amy, Cort and Aves came over for dinner and we played some Sorry. They just left so now I will read the rest of the night.
I'm coming to your house the next time you have ribs :D
1:06PM Counting down the hours/minuts in my work day. I am on Annual Leave after today for almost 2 weeks. Not
going anywhere, just need a rest from it all.
Looking forward to relaxing at the park with a coffee & book.
You should be able to get a few books read like that. And coffee is a must. Enjoy your vacation.
12:43 PM. Worn plum out. I put in a floral garden in a part of our backyard, pulled a crap-ton of weeds just in the backyard, cooked dinner, then we put primer on the kitchen walls! I am sore and pretty tired, but I am going to try to read a little. Tomorrow we start The Coffin Dancer, and I am very excited to have another Deaver read. He always makes me happy. :) Goodnight, GR..

His response "Oh well, yo..."I had doctor tell me that one time. But I was only like 22--if that--then. I went to the doctor specifically because of chest pains. He told me to take some Advil or Tylenol or something and ignore it. I was like, what?!
5.30 PM Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii everyone!!! I've missed you guys!!! I've had so much on the go lately, it's be ridiculous. I don't even know whether I'm Arthur or Martha these days! Vintage is almost over now and the big wedding I've been helping with was on Sunday so I'll have a lot more spare time now (I'm hoping). I'm so looking forward to going home and cooking a nice meal. I haven't been drinking lately, but today my boss gave me a really, really good bottle of red and I think I'm going to treat myself tonight. I don't even remember the last time I cooked a nice meal and put my feet up. I've missed hearing what's been going on with you all... I hope everyone is well? :)
9:36 AM. Good morning, GR! I am sore today, but I think a hot shower will help do the trick! I slept really well last night, which I needed. I'm enjoying coffee and a blueberry muffin for breakfast. I'm going to read and drink my coffee, read and hopefully finish up Tricks, then get back to my home stuff. I have more weeds to pull, dishes to put up, and the like. Tonight we will be painting the kitchen! Yay! :)
12:41 p.m. I am getting ready to read for a while and since Kathryn reminded me of coffee I am fixing some.
Shell - glad to see you posting.
Shell - glad to see you posting.
The library is my favorite place to be Shakirah. Next in line would be the coffee shops, but sometimes they're too loud for me to read. I start paying attention to other people instead of my books.
Libraries are wonderful places aren't they! :-) I know what you mean about coffee shops. Best when not over crowded
Yes, I do best without a lot of distractions for sure. Wish I could just learn to tune things out. I could read much faster.
12:02 A.M. EDT Just fixin' to go to bed. Yesterday was chemo #3 and while I had a short nap this evening I'm wanting more sleep. Didn't do much; tried to read but kept falling asleep. I think I'm finding the book less than engrossing... o.O
Gavin wrote: "1:33 am Reading, looking out to the Caribbean Sea."7:15 AM And I'm in my living room about to leave for work looking out in utter discouragement at the snow covered lawns from the dusting we got yesterday. In other words, I envy you!!! :-)
7:12AM I am debating on whether or not to lay down for a bit or stay up and read. LOL My book has been very good and I need to finish today so I can start The Coffin Dancer. Had a great visit with my brother in law yesterday he was in Texas on business. So that was a nice time. So my reading was cut in half yesterday. I have a little over 100 pages to go. Good Morning GR!
9:00 am lol that owl pic Sorry
11:18 a.m. Jeff is gone to his doctors appointment so I'm taking advantage and reading while I have some peace and quiet.
Gavin wrote: "9:00 am lol that owl pic Sorry not sorry, Pierre Sunny morning, sea glistening. Me and my book. Couldn't get any better."11:20 AM EST Aaah! You drive the knife in and twist it too! Cruel! :-)
Seriously, enjoy the sunshine and the book. :-)
4:39 p.m. and I'm gonna take a nap for about an hour
3:56PM Finished fractured and loved it! Had leftovers for dinner, now gonna go to the playground with Aves and shoot some basketball. Then when I get home I will start the Coffin Dancer. Looking forward to that!

Janie wrote: "Then when I get home I will start the Coffin Dancer. Looking fo..."I think I might join in that one too. Maybe tomorrow I'll read it.
@ 4:25 PM
I'm way behind on my challenge now, but I ain't giving up. I think it's still possible. Those audiobooks really slow you up BIG TIME. I end up pages ahead of the audio sometimes.
6:33 p.m. EDT Third chemo treatment yesterday, posted about it on my blog, a link to which is in my profile if anyone is curious. I'm a bit shaky today, but overall doing much better than after the last treatment. Except I'm super sensitive to cold now. If my fingers or toes are cold, I have pins and needles and can't touch anything until they go away because it feels like a shock. I think I'll need to DNF this book I've been trying to read, it's just not engrossing me and so many spelling issues... I keep falling asleep, I have no idea what is going on, so... maybe I'll try it later, maybe not. I think I'll read
I, Lucifer
. I really like that author. We'll see.

7:31 p.m. Took a nap and cooked some meatloaf. I plan on reading a little more tonight, but I'll probably spend some time with Jeff.
Katy - At least this treatment went better than the last. May not be much, but I'm at least happy for that.

8:11pm-craving junk food but don't have anything great in the house to snack on-will probably start reading soon.Sending you hugs Katy!
7:28PM Had a good time at the playground. I actually played basketball with Aeverie, he is an up and coming star. hehe. So now I think I will start The Coffin Dancer.
Janie wrote: "7:28PM Had a good time at the playground. I actually played basketball with Aeverie, he is an up and coming star. hehe. I hope you enjoy The Coffin Dancer, so far I'd say it's the best book in the Lincoln Rhyme series.
8:12AM I was gonna nap a bit this AM but could not go back to sleep. So got back up and had breakfast and a glass of orange juice. Have to run and pick up my books for WBN. I think this will be my last year. Also have to go out and get Easter dinner and Aves basket! He is uber excited!
Corey, I am glad that you liked the Coffin Dancer. I will get into it more this morning.

9:27am EDT. Hello everyone. The funeral was Monday. Larry took the whole week off, so we're just wandering around the house in a daze. The ceremony at the grave site was really beautiful. It was windy and rainy, the kind of day that Chris really loved. I feel stunned. I don't know what to do or where to go. Thanks to everyone for your messages of caring and support. It's been a very difficult time.
