Happy Birthday Janessa!

1:42 p.m. and I've got live streaming of the air show of the ipad. Doing some reading and enjoying a beautiful day.

Corey | 1411 comments Hey everyone, sorry I've been quiet on Goodreads all day, I've been busy all day, I ended up seeing the movie Captain America The Winter Soldier and it was awesome, I thought it was slightly better than the first one for those of you who've seen it, then I went to have my haircut but now I'm back home just relaxing and enjoying the nice weather.

message 10853: by Alondra (new)

Alondra Miller 4:15 p.m. Just got in from a day of book-shopping at my favorite UBSs; lunch at Q'dobas; and a few hours of Gardening. I am pooped...

(literally pooped; i have a bunch of composted manure in the front of my house... the neighbors are slightly perturbed!! ...LOL)

4:37 p.m. and getting ready to take dog for a walk. Trying to get some exercise to help my health get a little better (hopefully).

I've heard that it was really good. I'm looking forward to the chance to see it. But then again, I'm a great big geek, so of course I would be... :-)

8:36 p.m. EDT Up from a short nap to find an e-mail from an old friend of mine. I do hope I receive some news from her soon, it's usually just "Yeah, got your e-mail, will send more soon" and then nothing for two years... LOL Did manage to read a bit before crashing, so that was something at least. Clearing out e-mail and then will try to read some more while waiting for the caffeine from the DoubleShot to do its trick and rid me of this headache (how cool is it that my doctor recommends caffeine for my headaches? But apparently the Avastin they are giving me constricts my blood vessels, which can lead to headaches, and the caffeine will dilate them).

message 10856: by [deleted user] (new)

8:49 p.m. and I'm getting ready to watch the fireworks for Thunder Over Louisville via live streaming. You couldn't pay me enough to go down there and fight the crowds. Want to finish a book I'm reading tonight, but I doubt if I'll get to it.

Katy - Wish my doctor would recommend caffeine. She gets on me all the time because I get kidney stones A LOT and apparently caffeine is no good for them.

9:20 PM You should definitely see Captain America then. It's a lot of fun with crazy special effects. I saw it with my son, a high school buddy, and his son who is the same age as my son. We had a great time!

message 10858: by Corey (new)

Corey | 1411 comments 10:00 p.m. I've been reading for about an hour and so far I'm enjoying the book, now I'm turning out the lights and going to bed, goodnight GR.

message 10859: by Victor (new)

Victor 9:38 PM I finally uploaded a real profile picture. Going to comment on other threads and then read City of Fallen Angels.

11:33PM Just finished another book, Witch and Wizard. It was ok. Enough for me to want to read the rest of the series, although it is obviously more middle grade, so its not for everyone.

Victor great picture!

message 10861: by Janelle (new)

Janelle | 347 comments I just finished reading "The Hobbit". I liked it so I'm going to put a ring on it!!

message 10862: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:45 PM. What a day. I won't even post it all, but someone left sheets of glass in our attic and Mark cut his finger so badly I had to take him to get six stitches. He will live. I think he thinks it is cool because he won't shut up about it. Lol. I'm worn out, but we got the paint for the kitchen, which I am very excited about. Plus, we got some other stuff for the house. Okay, goodnight. I'm worn out. I'm so worn out I just repeated myself. Lol

message 10863: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Cindy, I recently read about something that can help with kidney stones; I thought it was apple cider vinegar, but when I went to the page I don't see it. If I run across whatever it was again, I'll try to remember to send you the link.

2:41 a.m. EDT Finished The Collector of Dying Breaths: A Novel of Suspense. I'm back in the reading mood as long as my vision holds up. I didn't mention it before, but during my last chemo treatment, at one point I rubbed my right eye and my vision went completely out for several seconds. It still flashes off and one once in awhile, which might be another reason for my headaches. Anyway, fairly tired, so will try to sleep soon, but first will start on a beta read of Scott Rhine's latest.

GeneralTHC @ 4:23 AM

Well it's about to be Day 13 of my 30/30 and I'm not that far behind, really. Essentially I am 9 books for 12 days. BUT, I've got a few I've been chipping away at that should make the difference throughout the month. Frankly, I was having some serious doubts a few days ago but I almost feel as if I'm about to get in a zone. Picking good books makes SO much difference.

I'm not sure what the weather is going to be like today, but I suspect hot and humid here. In Texas, ya think? What am I, psychic? No but seriously, I can hear it raining now, and I think it's going to be miserable, unless we have some thunderstorms that cool it off.

Happy reading, Bookworm Buddies!

9:28AM It is a rather dreary day today, but we do still need rain. So it will be good for reading! My reading has been great this month after what I thought was a slow month. So that makes me happy. Starting a new book today called Fractured by Karin Slaughter. Should be good, it is book 2 in the Will Trent series and I loved the first one. So I hope to have it finished by tomorrow.

Thanks Katy. I read up on some stuff myself. I was surprised to discover that the old cranberry juice actually can make them worse.

Kathryn wrote: "9:38 AM. Good morning, GR....why do I not have coffee in hand yet....???? :/"

I was just thinking the same thing Kathryn.

message 10870: by [deleted user] (new)

11:23 a.m. and I'm not awake enough yet to know what I'm doing. Gonna drink some coffee and then I'll decide what I'm reading.

message 10871: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments 3:10 P.M. Wish I didn't have to work tonight.....I really want to finish Fade Away!!

message 10872: by [deleted user] (new)

That bites Holly. Makes you want to consider calling in sick for about two seconds.

message 10873: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments Yes, it sure does Cindy!! What makes it stink more is that not only to I work tonight, but I have to work tomorrow morning as well. I can't stay up late and read! Double bummer!

message 10874: by [deleted user] (new)

Yuck! And then you'll be so tired when you get off work tomorrow that you'll probably crash. Sorry :(

message 10875: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments It's okay. I'm off on Tuesday, so maybe I'll be able to make up for lost times.

message 10876: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 4:26 p.m. EDT Hubby staying home today; he has a sore throat. I hope it's not something contagious or I'm screwed. My head is itchy and I think my hair is starting to fall out. Oh, well... I have wigs and turbans and hats oh my! it'll be FUN! :-) And no hair in the summer, well, that can only be a bonus in hot weather, right? Mmhm.

message 10877: by [deleted user] (new)

It will be a lot cooler anyway.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 3:54 PM. Blue taping my kitchen to get it ready to paint! Woohoo!

message 10879: by Victor (new)

Victor Cool Kathryn. When we moved into our house we were excited to start painting and we actually did the kitchen first:)

message 10880: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 6:37 p.m. EDT Went to Chinese buffet so hubby could have hot & sour soup, which is wonderful for a sore throat. I'm feeling sort of faint, dizzy and off-balance. Not sure if it's med side-effects or just my anemia becoming worse. Finishing up e-mail and then reading for awhile, perhaps a nap.

message 10881: by [deleted user] (new)

Maybe the nap should be a priority? *hugs*

message 10882: by Victor (new)

Victor Hope you feel better Katy:)

message 10883: by Alondra (new)

Alondra Miller 7:12 p.m. Tired after a long day of gardening and more gardening. I foresee much sleep in my future. Not sure about how much reading will get done... i have read much this weekend, at all. I guess i can catch up.

message 10884: by [deleted user] (new)

7:18 p.m. and I'm really confused now. Never again will I read three books at one time that all deal with zombies or vampires. Everything is running together.

message 10887: by Pierre (new)

Pierre 19:52 Thunder is rumbling outside and the darkness is broken the bolts of lightning. This is our first thunderstorm here since the fall. If it can rain enough, maybe the few remaining snowbanks on my lawn will melt leaving the bad memory of winter behind at last.

Man, I've wasted this whole reading day being indecisive about what to read.

Gavin (thewalkingdude) | 315 comments 8:48 pm Just watched Taxi Driver, now I'm watching some anime. Later I'll do some serious reading.

Chuck wrote: "@ 9:43 pm

Do what booktubers do, use a "book jar" and choose what to read at random.

message 10894: by [deleted user] (new)

Just think Chuck. You could have already had one read. I do that all the time.

GeneralTHC Cindy wrote: "Just think Chuck. You could have already had one read. I do that all the time."

Glad someone can relate.

Gavin wrote: "Do what booktubers do, use a "book jar" and choose what to read at random.

I have too many books to even set that up.
And I'd probably just keep picking "one more."

@ 10:53 PM

Guess I should just go to bed. I'm tireder (is that even a word?) than I even realized.

message 10896: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:13 PM. Exhausted. Taping to paint, gardening, Home Depot, assembled some stuff, dinner, etc....goodnight, GR..

message 10897: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 12:28 a.m. EDT Tried to take a nap, but couldn't stay asleep. on the plus side I read a whole book yesterday... :-) I think I'll do my random read next. Sounds like hubby has to pull a double tomorrow to make up for today... ehrm, well, technically the double is today and the miss was yesterday now, since it's after midnight. Anyway, Tuesday is the chemo, so he won't be working that day.

Noam, I agree that Frankenstein is sad. It breaks my heart to read it.

message 10898: by Gavin (new)

Gavin (thewalkingdude) | 315 comments Chuck, I don't know if I envy you or feel bad for you.

11:55 pm I was supposed to be reading like from an hour ago, but I watched a movie with my mom instead. Ok, now I'm reading. See ya later, folks.
