Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments It was lovely here today too, Cindy. Felt nice to go out, though I had to keep sun exposure to a minimum. Where can I find a decent parasol, does anyone know?

8:36 p.m. EST Going to watch Dollhouse and paint my nails. Whee!

I hear you on that one Holly. My other half, God love him, NEVER stops talking. I love him to death, but it makes it really hard for a reader.

message 10804: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments Lol Cindy. My other half doesn't read as much as I do, but he knows better than to talk to me when he sees me reading. That does make it hard for a reader. So does work! Lol

I'm the same way Holly, not to be disturbed if I got a book in my hand. Especially if it's a good book, LOL!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Mark, my husband, has learned not to talk to me while I'm reading. He got it finally about the 20th time of me ignoring him until I felt comfortable to stop reading and respond to his inquiry. Hahahaha!!!

message 10808: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments Lol Kathryn. Have to teach these non-readers how it works!! LOL :D

10:46 p.m. and I think I'm gonna call it an early night. Really tired. Been running hard today and got up at 5:30 a.m. Might read a little in bed until I fall asleep.

My husband is a reader, and he becomes REALLY annoyed if I interrupt him while he's reading. But then he will come in here when I am reading and blather on and on about his computer game, like I care... Heh.

11:06 p.m. EDT I forgot to mention I had some good news for a change today. I had gone to try to buy my ostomy supplies at a local retailer only to have them tell me Medicaid wouldn't pay for the brand I wanted, and the generic it would pay for was something I had no idea what to use. I contacted the social worker at the oncology clinic and she told me to call the manufacturer, so I did. I asked about a patient assistance program, but since I have Medicaid, I'm not eligible. However, she did put me through to a medical supply place that WOULD accept Medicaid for the brand of supplies I was used to, with no deductible OR co-pay! Mailed right to me each month. Awesomesauce. I'm still watching Dollhouse. I'm feeling really weird tonight, sort of dizzy and off-balance. Don't know what the problem it.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:00 PM. I'm laying in bed taking it easy and about to read. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow and the weekend. One of my cousins called and asked if I wanted to spend some time with her and her students at the Rangers ballpark. It should be fun! I might even try to find a bookstore on the way home....hehe! This weekend, we are going to clean and organize the garage, and have some other things planned. I hope everything will be finished with the unpacking/organizing by Sunday. Dinner was super yummy and healthy. Going to read a bit.

Chuck, thanks! Everything is just about done. Mainly some painting to get rid of the awful colors, and some picture hanging, plus a little bit more stuff to put away, is all that is left. I'm glad it is coming together, too. It drives me nuts to have to live out of boxes. Lol

Katy, that would annoy the crap out of me. Though, he sounds just like Mark when he is way too into a movie or tv show. Lol

7:03AM Good Morning GR. I am so tired this AM I am definitely going to go lay down. I was up late reading because I was gone most of the evening playing basketball with my kiddos. Will finish Six Years today!

message 10817: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 8:05 AM. Good morning, GR! I was wide awake when Mark got up to get ready for work. I decided to make some coffee and read a little until he left, and now I'm enjoying my favorite cereal, Cookie Crisp, drinking coffee, and will get ready for the day soon. I think I will finish up the chapter I'm currently on first, though. It looks like another beautiful day here in Texas! I think I'm excited about this weekend because it will be the first weekend where I can feel like I didn't just move in and have to unpack, if that makes sense. Happy Friday, everyone!!! Do a jig of happy Friday glee!!!!

message 10819: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 9:35 a.m. EDT I pulled a dummy act this morning and took my meds 4 hours early. Oops. That's a bit too much MS-Contin a bit too close together. But I'm not dead, so I guess it's all good... Anyway, decided to go spend some of my gift certificates for Amazon when I noticed several Joe R. Lansdale books for 99 cents; one of my friends raves about Lansdale, so I figure I'll give him a go. I listed them over on that topic. I also ordered the DVD of Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka. It was only $3.99! Great deal. I became very suddenly sleepy last night, so I had to leave off in the middle of a Dollhouse episode, but suddenly I want to be reading, so as soon as I'm done with that episode, I'll grab my Kindle. Hope everyone has a great Friday! Or had a great Friday for you people on the other side of the world... ;-)

Hello everyone. I just wanted to check in and say thanks to everyone for the messages of sympathy and support. The cremation is today and the internment will be Monday. I still can't believe it. I'm living in a fog of grief and confusion. Haven't checked up on all the posts yet. I'll try to check in with everyone next week.

Pierre Sincere condolences, Terri. A truly terrible tragedy.

10:43am Slow day at the office so I decided to sneak some time on GR. Listening to an audio book while I work. Have a good weekend everyone.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 12:10 p.m. EDT Mail just arrived, have a number of goodies. Fingerless gloves so I can keep my hands warm and still type (apparently it is hoped that keeping my hands warm will stop the spasming. I'll test that theory on Tuesday); wig caps, probiotics and two Danny Kaye movies! Plus some pens I had ordered - they sent the wrong ones and had to reship the correct set. The strange thing is the pens are here but the return label has yet to arrive. I'll have to e-mail the company to let them know.

message 10825: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Sounds like a good haul Katy. I like some of the old Danny Kay movies. The Court Jester is my favorite. Enjoy you fun mail. Hope you are doing well today.

2:05PM I finished reading Six years and finished filming the review vlog and that went well. It has been pretty quiet today and so happy it is Friday! I love weekends! Fixed me a hamburger for lunch and now I am gonna start reading We Are the Goldens that comes out I think May 26th if I got that right. It is from Net Galley and when I get them, I like to get them read and reviewed for the publishers. I also picked up Hollowland, by Amanda Hocking from Amazon, it is free for Kindle guys, at least it was yesterday, so go get your copy. And that is about all that is going on right now.

Terry take care of yourself and take your time with coming back to posts and such. We are here if you need us.

message 10829: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments The Court Jester, The Inspector General and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty are the only ones I've seen. Today I received On the Riviera, which I'm quite looking forward to watching.

3:07 p.m. EDT Just waking hubby up to go to work. Well past the 8 hour mark for my meds, but since I took them early this morning I needed to hold off to even out and go back on schedule. So, taking them now and then I'll be back on schedule by tonight. Time for a nap, that's for sure...

message 10830: by [deleted user] (new)

4:01 p.m. and I'm once again attempting to read and Jeff won't stop talking. God I love him! BUT it gets so annoying when he refuses to take his psychiatric meds and talks constantly. Argh.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 3:30 PM. Sitting here with my Gizmo girl curled up on my lap. I had a lot of fun at the Rangers ballpark tour with my cousin and her students. I learned and saw a lot. I'm glad to be home, though. I actually stopped at a Half-Price books I saw on the way home and bought five books. I justified them because I originally picked up one for Mark and didn't feel like only spending two dollars on my card. Plus, everything I got was on clearance. I'm actually needing to get up and do dishes, and maybe a few things around the house. I feel like a nap, too, or running over to Barnes and Noble to use my 20% off coupon for this weekend. But the nap sounds so tempting...lol.

message 10832: by [deleted user] (new)

Kathryn - I am so glad that the Half Price Books in my city is all the way on the other side of town. Otherwise, I wouldn't be eating many meals for sure.

I spent most of the day on here trying to do that but new messages just kept coming in and coming in and coming in and I'm falling way behind on social medial again and *pants* *breathes into a bag* Okay, so, we'll see what happens.

1:03AM Had another pretty full day today, but I did finish 2 books today which is great! I love when that happens. I just wrote my review for the book I got from Net Galley and got it posted everywhere it needed to be posted and now I think I will either start Fractured or Witch and Wizard before the buddy read of The Coffin Dancer for the 15th. Maybe I will get them both read, we will see.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Happy birthday, Janessa - have a great day!

12:32 p.m. EDT Ended up crashing probably around 2 or 3. I was trying to read but kept falling asleep so gave it up. Woke up briefly several times, but finally gave up on sleeping around 11. I have so many social media messages still to go through, going back at least 3 weeks or maybe a bit more... I try to do a few here and there to clear them out, but while at one point I managed to trim them down to about 650, the box again has over 850 messages in it... *sigh*
