GeneralTHC I'm SO SORRY, Terri. It's only human to think that if you'd just done this or that differently it wouldn't have happened. I know for a fact there's nothing anyone could have done to stop me from using. And going on 10 years straight in MMT this May alone and meeting literally hundreds of people, I'm convinced that's true for every one of us. So I hope you don't blame yourself. If you want to talk please don't hesitate to PM me. ((((((((((((((((((((((((Big, Big, hugs)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:45 a.m. EDT Was so shocked before I forgot to post my own update. D had to work a double today. I did not accomplish much of anything, not even really e-mail because I wandered off into Oddee and Buzzfeed and just couldn't escape... Then I would fall asleep and nap. Then be up again. Tomorrow he has off so we need to go to the medical supply store to put in my prescription for ostomy supplies and find out what I need to do there, and then we'll have some lunch and then probably come home and sleep.... Speaking of, sleepy now, so probably be logging off. Have to have D come and rub my shoulders a bit, though, they're all tight. Good night to all.

Angie | 76 comments My condolences go out to both Terri and Heather, my prayers are with both you and your families:) Cindy its great that you've been approved for food stamps, its one thing you don't have to worry about now. Good look with the CPS today, and I hope all goes well with your grandsons therapist:-)

Its 11.45 am here and my sons trying to get me to go see Captain America with him. Not sure if I feel up to it though.

message 10759: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Angie, I've heard Captain America is even better than the Avengers. And you MUST sit through all the way to the end of the credits. My husband wanted to go opening night but I wasn't feeling up to it (too soon after chemo) and he didn't want to go without me.

12:04 p.m. EST Need to start working on waking my husband soon so we can go to the medical supply store and have some lunch. Not sure what I want for lunch today... The sun is back out now, although it is supposed to cloud up later. It's gradually warming through the weekend, and then, just in time for my next chemo treatment, the temp is dropping again and there is rain forecast. Yay. Just what I need. Well, that's about it for me. Nothing exciting over here.

12:05pm Just has lunch. Made myself a burger with the works. Been reading Assassin's Code today too and have about 70 pages to go. Sorry it will end. It is so good! Actually the whole series is good and I decided I might like to make a Tshirt that says 'I love Joe' ha! And then wear it all the time!

message 10761: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 1:33 p.m. EDT Finally pried my husband out of the bed. We'll likely miss all the lunch specials, as I think we should go to the medical supply store first (he's always sleepy after eating, kind of like a snake; he just wants to come home and lay on a hot rock and digest).

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 5:36 p.m. EDT Well, as it turned out Medicaid will only cover generic ostomy supplies - single piece pouch and wafer that has to be cut to size. I have no idea how to use something like that. So I've called the social worker at the oncologist's office and she'll call me back tomorrow to see if there are any other options for me. We went to Red Lobster for a late lunch, and now I'm considering a nap.

7:22 p.m. OMG what a day! I couldn't sleep last night and had to get up at 5:30 a.m. so I could get the grandkids on the bus then had 10:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. apts for in-home visits for grandson that is living with me. I am tired, but relieved at the same time. Things went well and I even found time to go to the grocery store. Needless to say, I have not had much time to read today. I'm taking the rest of the night for me and plan to read/relax. However, I may not last past 10:00 p.m. or so.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 11:20 p.m. EDT Up from a nap about an hour ago. Feeling weirdly ambitious. Will likely start the H2O2 therapy at midnight. Although I'm a little freaked out by some of the things they say might happen as the body expels toxins, like, y'know, boils... O.o Still, if it helps... it will be worth it.

Teri, I've tried to catch up on as many posts as I can and I hope you are feeling better. I also wish I could help make you feel better. It is always nice to see you post.

Kathryn, congrats on the new house. Now all the fun starts. I'm hyper organized and unpacking and finding a place for everything is a lot of fun for me. Good luck.

10:34 PM Been cleaning like a mad man. My wife has started a play group for the kids and tomorrow is the first meeting. We haven been cleaning like we are moving. Here's hoping it goes well for her and the kids tomorrow. Have a good night/ day everyone.

message 10769: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Chris, keeping me in your thoughts, and your support and encouragement, is one of the most important things you can do. Having the positive energy flowing my way will make an enormous difference in my ability to fight this thing.

12:57 a.m. EDT Well, had my first dose of H2O2. You start off small, 3 drops in 6-8 oz. water three times a day the first day, adding one more drop each day until you reach 25 drops. For people who are just wanting to prevent problems, they then decrease by one drop a day until they're back at 3 drops and then take that as a maintenance dose. For people like me, with a severe problem, they suggest taking the higher dose for a few weeks. My husband says I really need to touch bases with a pharmacist to make sure this won't negatively impact any of my medications... Think I'll go back to watching some Dollhouse once I've finished with e-mail. Hubby has to work a double again tomorrow. Making up for lost time during my chemo weeks.

message 10771: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 10:39 a.m. EDT About to go to sleep now that hubby is off to work. Readjusted my medication schedule so that I'm not taking something every four hours, which is such a pain. Now I have meds at midnight, 8 a.m., 4 p.m., 8 p.m. and midnight... instead of midnight, 4 a.m. 8 a.m. noon 4 p.m. 8 p.m. midnight... I actually have the schedule written down with which meds to take when, and also am keeping track in a little notebook of when I take which medications. I'm hoping this will keep me from missing doses or accidentally taking an extra. Sleeping now!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 8:22 PM. Good evening, GR! Just finished up some gardening. I planted a window planter with zinnias, and another with floral herbs; I planted a pot of basil, and we are going to get a rosemary for another pot to go opposite of that on my porch. I have another ivy to plant, but realized it was after 8...oops! I can get carried away...Alondra knows that all too well. I also pulled a weed out of my front yard. Looks like the rest will have to be pulled tomorrow. I still need to cook dinner. Haha! Things are really coming along with our home. I got a lot accomplished today, but my poor feet are killing me. Ever since about the week before we moved, my feet hurt so badly at night from being on them all day. Any suggestions? Lol Anyways...I can't wait to read tonight.

message 10782: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Chuck wrote: "Katy wrote: "Well, had my first dose of H2O2."

It's something my dad put me onto. There is this 35% Food Grade H2O2 that you dilute (a LOT) and drink the mixture three times a day to increase the oxygen level and that is supposed to stop tumor growth and even kill it. I know that people who need to be able to hold their breath for a long time, like escape artists who do underwater escapes, will drink H2O2 mixtures to hyperoxygenate. I figure won't hurt, might help, so I'm trying it out. Today I put three drops in 6 oz. water, and am supposed to increase by one drop per day until I reach the max of 25 drops a day, then go back down the same way. Once back to 3 drops, that is kept as a maintenance dose. However, I haven't bothered to look into it myself - I just haven't been thinking straight. So I'm off to see what I can find out. This particular statement is discouraging...
Having said all of these things, let’s be logical. If you are Stage IV, the chances of you surviving your cancer without alternative cancer treatments is VIRTUALLY ZERO. If you take both prescription drugs and alternative cancer treatments, you are in a paradoxical situation. Here are two of the several possible options:

* the combination can do severe damage and shorten your life or
* the alternative cancer treatment can cure you.
Looks like another night of surfing for me, but at least it's with a purpose. And I think I might try out the "hold 3 percent H2O2 in the mouth for 10 minutes then spit out" remedy for my tooth. The pain is pretty annoying on top of everything else.

9:52 p.m. EDT Had a nap. Clearing out e-mail and then doing the research I should have done weeks ago...

Well, I'm not sure what to think about that. I think I would speak to my oncologist about it.

message 10784: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments You're probably right, Chuck. My dad can be pretty overpowering with his "opinions" and I was basically trying to appease him. When I called to let him know I had cancer, it was as if he was saying it was my fault; he was really angry with me, and then started ranting about a conversation I had with my stepmother on Facebook last fall and when I stopped answering him (because I was about to cry), he hung up on me. So, he tells me to drink H2O2, I drink H2O2. But I'm going to hold off now to do some more research, and my next chemo is this coming Tuesday, so I'll ask my doctor about it.

12:15 a.m. EDT Online research...

9:47AM Good Morning GR friends! Today I am attempting to read a book today and finish it. I feel like I am so far behind this month. I am only on my 4th book. Oh well. So I am gonna read Six years, it is very easy to read so I should be able to read it all today. We will see. Amy is off of work today so I wont have Aeverie. Here to everyone getting a quiet moment in there books today.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:23 AM. Good morning, GR! I have decided to treat myself to a little reading time because of all of the work I've done, and the work I still have yet to do. I need a little motivation. Lol. I didn't read last night. I pretty much crashed when my head hit the pillow. I am disappointed because I feel like I have had too long of a break in Rot and Ruin, even though I really like it, I am going to have to pick up something of a quick read to get back into the groove of reading. So, I am going to read Tricks by Ellen Hopkins. Janie and I both love Hopkins, and her books are definitely the type to get you back into the reading mode. I will read for a bit, then get back to house stuff. I bet I will finish it all today. It would make me very happy!

Katy, I didn't even know it had a jacuzzi tub in our bathroom until the house was inspected. Haha!!! It was very nice and relaxing. I like it much better than a hot tub, which I can't stand. Lol.

I am going to work on hanging up and organizing clothes, while doing laundry. I am looking forward to doing a bit more planting and pulling weeds. Yeah, I know....I never thought I would look forward to pulling weeds. Haha! I also hope I can relax a bit tonight and read more of Tricks. Only about 30 pages in and it's already a bit messed up. And I am well thank you! :) Happy de-weeding!

7:05pm dinner done and watching some Big Bang Theory with my hubby. Our daughter was just telling us all about her experience at Johnson & Wales University..participated in a 2 day shadow program on campus. Happy to hear she is excited and can't wait to go there in the Fall. Definitely helped her overcome some anxiety about college.
