message 10053: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments I have Facebook, but I'm probably going to be deleting my account.

Christine Hatfield (christinesbookshelves) | 1406 comments Why?

message 10055: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments Because it's too much of a hassle for me. Plus, I'm tired of people finding me on there that I really don't want to have anything to do with.

10:23AM I have been reading Physik this AM Was sitting in there with Aves while he watches a movie and I had to move LOL Can't focus on my book with a movie going. Just enjoyed a cup of coffee and now back to reading.

Holly, sorry it is still snowing where you are. Here in Texas we had pretty unusual winter too with 3 ice storms. Actually the last 2 were just attempts lol nothing compares to the first one we had this winter. I am so over the cold, ready for summer.

2:51 p.m. Went to orientation and it was great. This company is crazy in a fun kind of way. You can take a sharpie and write your name on the walls, can have your MP3 player or phone and listen to music while working. Heck, I can even drink my coffee at my workstation. How cool is that? They stress having fun. I believe this is good (mostly, until people take it too far).

message 10060: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments Thanks Janie. I'm ready for some nice weather too. I've heard that the southern states have been getting some crazy weather this Winter. I know that we were due for a bad one, but this is ridiculous!!!!

Glad that your orientation went well Cindy!

message 10061: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 2:25 PM. I finished (finally) Fallout this morning and started Allegiant. I apologize to those who I was supposed to read this with, but I know you all understand because of what happened. Anyways, I'm feeling a bit better about things, though it is still a bit difficult. I think getting back into the swing of every day life will help take my mind off of things. I've got laundry to do, dishes, and I need to make three videos for my YT channel.

Sorry about the rough patch you're going through, Kathryn. Hang in there, chica.

Heather | 253 comments 4:03 PM I have spent a few hours in Urgent Care this morning trying to figure out what is going on in my stomach. I have had stomach problems for the past 2 months! They did a CT scan and found nothing so now I have to see a specialist about it due to possibly having an ulcer. Now time to relax and read Legacy and Shatter Me!

4:01 p.m. and the temp agency just called with my hours. It will be Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri from 6 p.m.- 4:30 a.m. At least it's a four day work week AND I'm off weekends.

message 10065: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments Awesome news Cindy!

3:56 p.m. At the laundry mat....going to sneak on a little reading time before the hubby and little one get back! :-)

message 10067: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks Holly! I'm jealous Kylie. If we hit a high temp in the 60's later in the week, I won't know what to do. Weather man said it's gonna happen. Hope you enjoy the good weather and warm temps in FL.

KylieAwesome | 12 comments i like the cold and snowfall of my beautiful Alaska! My pro pic is from one of my walks last year... that is the road I walk everyday!

message 10069: by [deleted user] (new)

I like snow and the beauty of places such as Alaska, but darn I'm over it. We've had over double our normal amount of snowfall for the year.

message 10070: by KylieAwesome (new)

KylieAwesome | 12 comments Right right... I love Alaska because I get summer and Winter( my favorite season) about the same amount... I have terrible allergies in the spring... so that kills me.

11:18 p.m. and I am going to make an attempt at sitting up all night. It always takes me 4-5 days to get into the grove of things when I get a new job. Since I will be working from 6 p.m. - 4:30 a.m. and start Monday, I am changing my sleeping pattern starting tonight. Don't know if I can do it, but I'm gonna give it one hell of a try.

message 10072: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Good luck Cindy. That sounds daunting that it's making me yawn just thinking about it.

10:20PM and it's late and I'm hungry. Sitting in the drive thru of Steak n Shake getting a very late dinner. Rough and very late night at the old job tonight.

message 10073: by [deleted user] (new)

Chilling at my place. Texting a good friend of mine, drinking water and about to finish off the rest of "Prodigy" by Marie Lu.

message 10076: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, goodness, Heather, definitely follow up with a GI doctor and have a colonoscopy and further testing. If I'd done that way back in September or October, I might have caught the cancer before it hit Stage IV and filled up my pelvic area.

12:52 a.m. EST Was going through my social media stuff to clear out Goodreads stuff and leaving just Facebook and blogs and realized I had not heard from this particular thread for several days. There were 163 new messages, so please forgive me, but I didn't read through them. Cindy, sounds like you have a cool temp job - what will you be doing? We've been eating and eating and eating some more. When I'm not noshing at home, we've gone to Outback, Olive Garden, Waffle House and Ryan's. I'm trying to be balanced, salads and fruit juices in addition to high protein stuff in order to build my strength.

Well, I mean to watch some Family Guy before I crash, which means I'd best stop messing around and start watching. Take care all!

message 10077: by [deleted user] (new)

12:55 a.m. and I'm still hanging in there. Plan to sit up until 5 or 6.

Thea - I haven't read any of that series.

message 10078: by [deleted user] (new)

Katy - I don't know what particular job I will be assigned yet. Will find out my first day. I hope you are feeling OK. Enjoy Family Guy! I like that show but Jeff hates it. He's been stuck on I Dream of Jeannie lately.

message 10079: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Yes, I agree with Thea. There is also diverticulitis. So many things can go wrong down there. The sooner you test, the sooner you can find out and hopefully fix what ails ya. Having been suffering from problems since August (which turned out to be cancer) I can relate. So painful.

12:01PM Kind of took my time getting here today. Its been a pretty quiet morning. I am thinking we are going to make a trip into Denton today, hopefully to the UBS, that will be fun!

Christine I live in the DFW Metroplex.

Kathryn I am sure you will get back into the swing of things soon. I agree that going back to doing the normal everything day things will definitely help you out. I think that is always the best thing a person can do. Hugs to you!

Cindy how awesome you will start working again. I hope that you end up liking your new job, and having weekends off is always a good thing too! Congratz!

Katy glad to see you post.

Heather hope you get everything take care of and you feel better. soon.

message 10085: by [deleted user] (new)

Katy, good to see you post. You're frequently in my thoughts. Glad to hear you are eating and taking care of yourself. I'm sure Dmitry must be a great support...

Good luck rearranging your body clock, Cindy. I worked the night shift for many years (I was an RN) and it really reeks havoc on your system!

1:09pm EST. Just hanging out with the puppy and spending time on GR. Not much to do today except read (oh hurt me). We're just having soup and sandwiches for dinner. Larry is doing the grocery shopping before he comes home. Happy Thursday to all!

Wondering why my child is in his room blowing raspberries when he should be sleeping.
But, happy on the haul of 30 books I bought today second hand :)

message 10088: by [deleted user] (new)

2:48 p.m. and I am staying logged in so I can update my lists (reconciling hard copies vs ebooks), but I am literally walking away from the computer periodically to read from my hard copies. I'm not ignoring anyone if I'm sent any messages. I will check every thirty minutes or so.

message 10089: by Pierre (new)

Pierre It's 3:12 PM in Montreal. I just came back from shopping downtown with my wife. My favorite part was letting my wife shop for clothes while I lost myself amongst the hundreds of book shelves in the large Indigo book store on St-Catherine street. I could live in there! In spite of the thousands of book in the store, there was only a small section for horror books. A quarter of the space was occupied by Stephen King novels. Good thing we have Internet book stores and ebooks to sate our unusual and twisted appetites! :-)

GeneralTHC @ 2:19

Bout to read a few hundred pages. Hadn't really read that much the past couple of days. Going to finish Blood Will Out The True Story of a Murder, a Mystery, and a Masquerade by Walter Kirn , read a little bit of The Caine Mutiny by Herman Wouk , and tonight I'm starting the latest book by Dan Simmons: The Abominable by Dan Simmons . Got a bunch of others stuff to squeeze in there somewhere like The Lizard Cage by Karen Connelly .

5:24 p.m. and once again I got distracted from my reading. One of these days I'll get out of this hellhole. EMS and Fire dept right behind me at this trailer and have been there for about 45 minutes. I used to be an EMT and know all too well what this typically means. Ahhh!! Enough fussing, back to reading now.

The Goldfinch is slow going for me Chuck. I like the book but I've got four others I'm reading with it. Maybe before I die, I will become faster at reading.

H'm. I think you'll get into it once you get a little further along. A lot people love the first part of it. I, too, thought the beginning was slow.

It's now bedtime!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 8:18 PM. Dinner is cooking. Eating a bit late because Mark took a nap. I got over 100 pages read in Allegiant, and I plan to read more later. I had a great workout earlier, and it made me feel a bit better. I got all of our laundry washed and dried, which I was so behind on, and got the dishes washed. I feel pretty accomplished today. Watching Project Runway, and waiting on dinner.

6:57AM Wow did not want to get up this AM. I do think it is Spring break for Kay next week, so that will be nice. Got to page 300 last night in Physik, I could be a lot further along but Amy came over and we all sat around playing Sega all star racing LOL. I think I will crawl back into bed for a bit.
