5:27am EST. Up with hub, drinking cinnamon hazelnut coffee and enjoying the heck out of it. Stayed up reading till 2:30, I may have a nap in store for me today. I'm on the last book in my stack, desperately need a library trip (hub will probably go for me tomorrow). Happy Friday everyone!
Cindy, great news!
Cindy, great news!
7:35AM Did not go back to sleep even though I was awake till 2:30 this AM. We are planning another day out. This time with my Daughter Amy. So last night my sweet hub took us out to dinner and then we went to Best buy and he bought me the Paper White Kindle. I always said that I did not want one, but that was before Net Galley. Which is where you can get approved to review Authors new releases. And I love writing reviews and discovering new Authors. But they only do Ebooks on Net Galley, and I don't wanna have to read them on my phone. For some reason they cant be sent to my laptop even though it is listed for my kindle app. Either way I am pretty excited that I will have this to use now instead of my phone.
So now I am enjoy my coffee and catching up on GR. Hub got my desk top puter back up and running! YAY! Will be headed out about noon today, so not sure when I will get back here so everyone have a good day!

5.40pm Spent most of the day sleeping, had a really bad headache, I think it's because of my jaw. Managed to see the doc and now have some diazepam. Hopefully that will get me through till I see the consultant next week.
Feeling a little better now so might try and read after some soup, out of a can today though!
10:59 am
For all of you who may not be feeling that great I hope that you get better soon and for those of you dealing with nasty weather I hope you are all stay warm and safe. Not much going on with me today except homework.

For all of you that are freezing, keep the fires burning and the good books streaming. Take care and stay warm.
Katy, good luck sweety, hope all goes well and that you have a very speedy recovery. Soft hugs.

3:18 pm
Stopping homework for today and I am going to read for pleasure now. I have too many books going right now that I will not bore you all with a list of them. Hopefully I can finish one of them soon.

Hi Susan! Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm looking forward to participating in the group! :)
10:33PM Had a great day out today with my family! It is always fun to spend time together. Gonna be calling it a night early! Night everyone!

11:42AM About to paint our bedroom. I want it done, but I wish I could just snap my fingers and it was done.

All that snow!! Must be global warming. Lol. Hope you have a fun day Kathryn.

What color are you painting Janie?

12:21 pm
Having lunch with my dad and nephew right now. I am a little tired today and I need to recharge my batteries so after lunch I will probably walk the treadmill and watch an episode of Scrubs plus a movie or two

Global warming doesn't mean there won't be local cold days. It's a long-term trend of rising global temperatures.

Chuck, I don't believe in "global warming." My dad's a geologist and says it doesn't exist.

Spent 3hours on a train this morning to come spend some time with my aunt who I hadnt seen in 4 years til today. Been reading Black House, but my son was being a bugger so couldnt read much today x

How are you feeling after your jaw/mouth surgery? Are you doing okay?
10:57PM Got the bedroom painted, but the room is very large and we decided to do the bathroom and closet tomorrow. it looks good though.
Susan the color is like a burnt orange. Look great in there. Sent you a pic of it. LOL

Had a pretty good day. I'm off of both jobs today so I had a few errands to run. My son and I played in the snow and went sledding today which was a lot of fun but my knees are killing me now. Right now my wife and I are relaxing together. We just watched the season finale of Sherlock, and now we are watching the Pilot of Bosch. This is a show based off of Michael Connelly's books and I'm excited to see how this is. A blog post review will be coming once we watch this.
I hope everyone is doing well, I do miss talking with you all.
I haven't been on that much either Chris. Been extremely depressed and just struggling with lots of things. I have been making some effort because I fear the outcome if I totally isolate from the world. Good to hear from you and glad you got to spend some quality time with your son. Awesome stuff!

I'm totally with you, Chuck. I think climate change is very real and there is much scientific evidence to support it.
Chris, so glad to see you post! Glad you're getting some family time.
Cindy, I know exactly what you mean about depression and isolation. It's good to see that you're trying to resist it. How's your pain been?
1:03am EST. Can't sleep so it's a good thing I have 4 good books I'm working on. My leg and hip are killing me tonight. I have an MD appointment for the 17th to address the pain issue. I just can't understand why the doc cut my pain meds in half. I think chronic pain is so misunderstood. I was a hospice nurse for 6 years, and I learned a lot about pain control in that job. Hope all my GR friends are having a peaceful night!

12:40AM So Amy came for a visit for a bit, she went home about midnight. I am gonna stay up a bit longer and catch up on reading. I did not get to read much today at all.
Chris glad to see you post, I miss having you around with all of us. Hope you enjoyed your day off today. Nice for you to get to spend it with your family! Nothing better than that for sure.
Cindy just keep on keepin on is all you can do most of the time. Takes a strong person to be able to persevere through life when all we have are struggles to deal with it. Always nice to see you posting with us!
Terri hope you get to feeling better soon and get your medication squared away ad fixed up. Pain is no fun that's for sure! G'night Good Reads!

Chuck, It was just a joke about our crazy current snow storm. Not meant to be serious or start a debate.

:) Good. Great! I've actually known people to put that forward as a serious argument.

Blessed sleep: it's the only way I can ever get rid of headache. Of course sleeping too much can cause headaches as well.

Teri, I have missed posting and it's nice to get back here when I can. I hope you were able to get some sleep last night. Good luck with your MD appointment. I can't imagine how difficult constant pain is to deal with.
Janie I have missed cheating with all of you. I hope you and the family are doing well. I did enjoy my day off yesterday. Thanks, but back to work today.

There you are stranger, miss hearing from you, sounds like you are sooo busy. Hang in there. Nice to hear you had some quality time with your Family. Take care, and I know it almost impossible for you, but try not to work to hard.

Terri, I hope you can get this all straightened out on the 17th. I'm so sorry.
My sister has chronic pain due to Rheumatoid Arthritis. She has been fighting the system ever since Oboma Care regulations started just to keep using the meds she was on. The ones they want her to take are morphine based and she is allergic. What a mess. It just breaks my heart on top of everything she deals with, she has to fight the establishment too, (who don't have a clue to what she needs), just to get what she has to have to function.
Okay, I've gotten down off my soap box. You are in my thoughts, I hope you get what you need.

My mother suffers unbelievable bad. She called at 4Am this morning crying--just another day. Wants God to take her. I'm talking immense suffering day in, day out, all day long. I know they don't have a clue when it comes to treating pain. The drugs she's been on--for going on two decades-- basically just keep her on the edge of withdrawal.
The War on Drugs has done nothing but hurt every facet of society.
Hope it works out for you, Terri.

9:38AM Its back to painting, have to get the bathroom and the closet painted today, but those wont take as long. Enjoying a cup of coffee first though.
Chuck sorry to hear about your mom. That is horrible to be in that much pain and they don't even seem care about it. It is sickening really.

Susan wrote: "It is horrible to have to watch the people we love suffer. It cases like these that are going to drive people to self medicate and then the proverbial flood gates ..."
I don't ever talk about it to anyone really, but yeah it's absolutely horrible. And I'm not even the one in pain. There's just nothing I can do. It just makes you feel so helpless. Doctors just don't give a damn anymore. These days they have their guidelines and if you fall out of them you are screwed. Chronic pain patients are screwed because they will build a tolerance. And doctors are just not going to risk being audited by the DEA. It's a nightmare you can't wake up from. The only thing that keeps me from losing my mind is knowing it could be worse. She could have no medicine or something. It can always get worse--that's how I learned to deal with it.

Hope it goes fast for you Janie. The bedroom looked awesome!

Thanks Susan.

Thanks Janie.

I have a request: Can you all please leave the politics off of this thread? My degrees are in Political Science, so it is REALLY hard for me to keep my mouth shut. I don't want to offend anyone with my politics (I know my politics would offend every single one of you), even though I feel offended sometimes by others'. All of you are my friends, so for the sake of our friendships, please create a Politics thread (you have my permission), and discuss there? Thanks.

"
Yeah, really. You should've seen it a couple hours before the sun came up.

Well, I haven't heard your political views. I can only hope they're more informed than your science--something tells me they go hand in hand, though. ;) Luv ya, Kathryn, if you can teach me something do so.
