5:27am EST. Up with hub, drinking cinnamon hazelnut coffee and enjoying the heck out of it. Stayed up reading till 2:30, I may have a nap in store for me today. I'm on the last book in my stack, desperately need a library trip (hub will probably go for me tomorrow). Happy Friday everyone!

Cindy, great news!

7:35AM Did not go back to sleep even though I was awake till 2:30 this AM. We are planning another day out. This time with my Daughter Amy. So last night my sweet hub took us out to dinner and then we went to Best buy and he bought me the Paper White Kindle. I always said that I did not want one, but that was before Net Galley. Which is where you can get approved to review Authors new releases. And I love writing reviews and discovering new Authors. But they only do Ebooks on Net Galley, and I don't wanna have to read them on my phone. For some reason they cant be sent to my laptop even though it is listed for my kindle app. Either way I am pretty excited that I will have this to use now instead of my phone.

So now I am enjoy my coffee and catching up on GR. Hub got my desk top puter back up and running! YAY! Will be headed out about noon today, so not sure when I will get back here so everyone have a good day!

Sarah Katy I am thinking of you x

5.40pm Spent most of the day sleeping, had a really bad headache, I think it's because of my jaw. Managed to see the doc and now have some diazepam. Hopefully that will get me through till I see the consultant next week.

Feeling a little better now so might try and read after some soup, out of a can today though!

✨Susan✨ (suswelch) | 904 comments Hello GR Buddies, here's wishing you all a great weekend and some quiet reading time. Started the last unread book of my favorite Walt Longmire series:(. I really want to find another to take its place soon, and hopefully in the same genre. I have been frequenting the favorite series thread and wanted to thank you all for the great input. You have definitely put a few on my radar.

For all of you that are freezing, keep the fires burning and the good books streaming. Take care and stay warm.

Katy, good luck sweety, hope all goes well and that you have a very speedy recovery. Soft hugs.

It's always a conundrum. Anyways, I really didn't sleep very well last night. Between snuggly kitties wanting to be warm and my husband's constant rolling over to my side of the bed and his long legs kneeing me, ugh..definitely not a comfortable night. I made up for it, though, by taking a nap after I ate breakfast and did a little GRing. I got quite a few pages read so far today in XO, but stopped to do the dishes and go workout. I just noticed it's snowing again. What's up with that, Texas?!

Global warming doesn't mean there won't be local cold days. It's a long-term trend of rising global temperatures.

There, I got 8 books, and after his hair appointment, we had lunch together. After lunch, we headed over to one of our newest thrift stores, and there, I found two more books. I will post them in the appropriate thread. Later, we are going to dinner with my dad, but for now, I think I will try to read. :) Hope everyone is having a great Saturday!

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 11:12PM I'm sorry I haven't been on GR much lately. I'm just so tired I hardly ever do much on my computer or iPad. I also haven't really been reading all that much. I'm kind of sad about that because there is a lot I want to read in 2014, but I don't have the time.

Had a pretty good day. I'm off of both jobs today so I had a few errands to run. My son and I played in the snow and went sledding today which was a lot of fun but my knees are killing me now. Right now my wife and I are relaxing together. We just watched the season finale of Sherlock, and now we are watching the Pilot of Bosch. This is a show based off of Michael Connelly's books and I'm excited to see how this is. A blog post review will be coming once we watch this.

I hope everyone is doing well, I do miss talking with you all.

I haven't been on that much either Chris. Been extremely depressed and just struggling with lots of things. I have been making some effort because I fear the outcome if I totally isolate from the world. Good to hear from you and glad you got to spend some quality time with your son. Awesome stuff!

I'm totally with you, Chuck. I think climate change is very real and there is much scientific evidence to support it.

Chris, so glad to see you post! Glad you're getting some family time.

Cindy, I know exactly what you mean about depression and isolation. It's good to see that you're trying to resist it. How's your pain been?

1:03am EST. Can't sleep so it's a good thing I have 4 good books I'm working on. My leg and hip are killing me tonight. I have an MD appointment for the 17th to address the pain issue. I just can't understand why the doc cut my pain meds in half. I think chronic pain is so misunderstood. I was a hospice nurse for 6 years, and I learned a lot about pain control in that job. Hope all my GR friends are having a peaceful night!

Terri, I hope you can get this all straightened out on the 17th. I'm so sorry.

My sister has chronic pain due to Rheumatoid Arthritis. She has been fighting the system ever since Oboma Care regulations started just to keep using the meds she was on. The ones they want her to take are morphine based and she is allergic. What a mess. It just breaks my heart on top of everything she deals with, she has to fight the establishment too, (who don't have a clue to what she needs), just to get what she has to have to function.

Okay, I've gotten down off my soap box. You are in my thoughts, I hope you get what you need.

My mother suffers unbelievable bad. She called at 4Am this morning crying--just another day. Wants God to take her. I'm talking immense suffering day in, day out, all day long. I know they don't have a clue when it comes to treating pain. The drugs she's been on--for going on two decades-- basically just keep her on the edge of withdrawal.

The War on Drugs has done nothing but hurt every facet of society.

Hope it works out for you, Terri.

I don't ever talk about it to anyone really, but yeah it's absolutely horrible. And I'm not even the one in pain. There's just nothing I can do. It just makes you feel so helpless. Doctors just don't give a damn anymore. These days they have their guidelines and if you fall out of them you are screwed. Chronic pain patients are screwed because they will build a tolerance. And doctors are just not going to risk being audited by the DEA. It's a nightmare you can't wake up from. The only thing that keeps me from losing my mind is knowing it could be worse. She could have no medicine or something. It can always get worse--that's how I learned to deal with it.

I need to get laundry going, possibly go to the grocery store (not really excited about that prospect, LOL), and I want to get some reading done. I need to get some coffee and breakfast first....

I have a request: Can you all please leave the politics off of this thread? My degrees are in Political Science, so it is REALLY hard for me to keep my mouth shut.
