True, but they count on the "uneducated" segment of the American public that is unaware of this and they fully exploit that.

Ironically, I would be making a second batch of homeade chicken soup today if I weren't snowed in at my hotel!

1549 CST. Haven't been able to go home today, nor was I able to get out to the bookstore to get Burn, so I'm here just waiting for the night shift to begin.

Came home and my daughter is cooking, and I am thankful.

My legs are in stiff and painful from working out, and I am NOT thankful.

✨Susan✨ (suswelch) | 904 comments Hello to all GR Buddies. It has been a really cold and gloomy day here. Not much going on, all the family is kind of doing their own thing and its a whatever night for dinner.

Janie, Dawn of the Dinasaurs song is great, loved all the actors voices in that one. The Budweiser puppy commercial, for me, was the best part of the whole Super Bowl, I wanted the Seahawks to win but not like that. Really liking Flyte so far, it has non stop action with some very original, cool characters.

Kathryn, glad you are feeling good enough to take a run.

Shell, put some rocks in your pockets so you don't blow away :)

Alondra, you are lucky to have a daughter that cooks for you, glad you had a break/slow day.

Terry, I'm putting National Soup Day on my calendar for next year. My favorite thing to eat is a spectacular soup. Thanx

Hope Jordan, Lucy and Katy can get some rest and that you are all feeling well soon.

7:53PM Had a great work out, now enjoying some coffee and my book. I should finish this book by tomorrow it is so fluid and easy to read.

Susan glad you are enjoying Flyte. I am as well. So many things I had forgotten. It is like a brand new read for me.

Alondra glad you had a slower day and a daughter who cooks for you. The pain you feel is a GOOD pain, just keep telling yourself that!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 8:25 PM. I just finished cleaning up dinner. I made scrambled egg whites, turkey bacon, and roasted potatoes. I have done a lot of reading today, and am looking forward to getting back into it in a bit. I did a few chores around the house, had a really great workout, and while I was irking out, Mark came home. I got a shower, and then started to cook dinner. Some night coffee sounds yummy, but will wait since I want to drink my big glass of ice water. I hope to finish Insurgent tonight. It is so good!

Susan and Ella, great to see posts from you both! :)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments I meant to comment to you, too, Shell! The wind sounds terrible! I actually run on equipment here in my house. It saves me from getting sunburned! haha! Actually, the last two days have been so chilly and overcast. Yuck!

message 9586: by Shell (new)

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments That's great that you can exercise at home :) My poor treadmill doesn't get much use haha! I prefer to be outside but I burn really easily too so I try to go early in the morning. Your dinner sounded really yummy. I've never had turkey bacon before, I didn't even know such a thing existed!! Glad you've got lots of reading done. I'm enjoying Insurgent too - hopefully I'll get a decent chunk read tonight :)

message 9587: by Ella (new)

message 9588: by Shell (new)

Breaking bad is really good I'm up to season 5
I love it:-)

Jordan its the same time here. I can't sleep either so I've just taken a sleeping pill. I've got vampire diary's on but I'm bored.

message 9593: by [deleted user] (new)

Susan, I love homemade soup as well. I didn't know today was the day for it until this morning, so I'll just have to catch it next year.

Kathryn, "irking out" sounds like something I would do!

Katy, hope you can get some good rest.

10:53pm EST. Waiting for the weather report to come on. It's been sleeting and snowing since about 8:00. If it's bad in the am, my hub can work from home so I'm glad about that. I only got 3 hours sleep last night and now I'm overtired, so it will be a battle again tonight. At least I have an excellent book to keep me company (Americanah). Charlie is sacked out on the couch next to me, it feels so good to cuddle with my dog. Hope everyone is having a peaceful night.

message 9594: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Kobus (rainbowsunset) 11:44pm EST. Read some of The Iliad, now watching Blackadder Goes Forth on DVD. I love the Blackadder series, and it's so funny seeing Hugh Laurie in his early days!

message 9595: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:55 PM. I'm thinking I'm going to stay up and try to finish Insurgent tonight. Maybe I'll make a cup of leaded (caffeinated) coffee to help keep me up. I hope the sun comes out tomorrow....I miss it. :( I did two videos for my YouTube channel, and got those uploaded. Mark went to bed a little after ten, but the kitty girls are hanging out with Momma.

Terri, I didn't even realize I had written that!! How funny!!! I don't even know what "irking" is...Oops. haha!

message 9596: by Shell (new)

HAHAHAHA!!!! Well, we do have a word, "irked," which means something like someone rubbed you the wrong way, irritated you, bothered you. But "irking"......Um, no. hahahahahah!

I'm on Series 2 episode 2 now, was watching on a friends netflix, but got my own now, just waiting on the voucher code to get 6 months free :D

message 9599: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Kathryn, I think turkey bacon must be a sign of the apocalypse... I like my bacon the old-fashioned way, from a pig. *laugh* Just giving you a hard time. The one thing I'm REALLY looking forward to once my surgery and recovery are done is being able to EAT again. I'll probably gain 20 lbs the first month.

6:20 a.m. EST Seem to have been doing nothing but sleep since yesterday afternoon. Not too long at any given time, but... Still, I feel better rested. Of course, I slept past my meds time slightly, so now I'm hurting until they kick in. Need to work on this editing project.
