Lunchtime :D
Which of course means curling up on the sofa with a book :)

message 9353: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Thanks, Sarah. This is my 2nd time. The prep wasn't as bad the first time because I was on narcotics, but of course that meant I wasn't cleaned out enough for the doctor. This one.... Yiii. Violent. I hope it's good enough this time and I have some answers finally.

8:57 a.m. EST Had very little sleep but did manage a couple hours. Off to the colonoscopy soon.

Angie | 76 comments Good luck with that Katy, I agree it is awful. Its 5 pm here and I'm sat reading the Wasp Factory. I had to wash all my bedding as I fell asleep sat up with a cup so tea. Obviously it tipped over! I do that to much, lol

Oh goodness gracious, Katy ... I know there several causes of that. Is it a tumor in your case?

GeneralTHC 2:00 PM

Hoping to get some serious reading done today. Still going for 20 books AND/OR 7500 pages on the month. Only have today and four other days left. It's going to be close. If I finish off some of these other books I've been reading I just might make it.

Katy, no wonder you have been in so much pain, you poor thing. That is really scary. I hope that this is something that they can sort out quickly so that you can get back to a normal, healthy lifestyle. All the best for your meeting with the surgeon and biopsy results.

7:49PM Feeling better this evening. I ate little bit. Still feel a little dizzy, but that is more than likely from lying around today. I did finish my book, so that is good. YAY

Katy hope everything gets taken care of and it all works out.

Kathryn, hope you are feeling better this evening.

message 9369: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hey, Chuck, they don't know. The biopsy results with be to the surgeon by the time I see him and then I'll know. Thanks Shell, yeah I'm pretty worried. Thanks, Janie. My apologies if I missed anyone, I have a headache from hell.

Katy, my heart goes out to you. Hope you get some pain relief and that the biopsy is negative. I've had lots of bowel obstructions, so I know you must be feeling pretty bad. Hang in there. I think all of us on this site are sending you love and good vibes and healing thoughts.

10:13pm EST. What the heck is up with this site? Everybody's sick! My doc decided to cut my pain meds in half without the courtesy of even telling me--I found out when I opened the prescription. Needless to say, it's initiated a pain crisis and all the GI symptoms I get from my 10 abdominal surgeries. Almost went to the ER last night. Feeling almost human tonight and able to keep down some chicken broth.

Thanks everyone for your concern and support about the problems with my son. It actually really helps me feel better.

message 9376: by Shell (new)

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments Terri, I'm sorry to hear that you have been in pain, that is terrible. I hope that something can be done to get you feeling better quickly. I'm sorry I must have missed you talking about your son. I really feel for you, it is not easy living with someone with those kinds of problems. I used to have quite severe depression and and experienced a lot of the problems that go along with that - I know it can be really hard to understand people who have that stuff going (my husband was a saint for sticking by me), but if you think it would help to talk or ask any questions, please feel free to message me, I'd be more than happy to have a chat :)

message 9377: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, Terri, that sucks. Did you call your doctor and ask what was up? It could have been a mistake. I know my doctor did some screwups on my meds last fall, prescribing completely unnecessary iron pills and cutting my Klor-Con in half by mistake. You really don't need to be having this stress on top of everything else. Apparently they are coming down on pain meds prescriptions, which is so annoying for those of us who need them. The last times I was in the ER they would only give me Tramadol, even though I told them it didn't work at all for me.

2:50 a.m. EST All caught up on Agents of SHIELD, not quite on Sleepy Hollow, but I want to have some Buffy/Angel time and I need to go back to editing later today.

HA! That's outrageous! I've been hearing so many stories like that, too. I just don't know what these doctors think people are supposed to do. The American medical establishment is so far off base when it comes to treating pain. It's mind boggling.

message 9379: by Victor (new)

Victor Shell- I didn't get to The Talisman last night. I forgot that I needed to read Clockwork Angel so I'll finish Cassandra Clare's books before City of Heavenly Fire comes out May 27.

10:02AM Thanks for get well wishes. I am feeling much better today. Still a little weak but once I eat more I think I will feel stronger. Amy and Cort are completely moved in now YAY! So that is good. Got up this AM to boot up my desk top and it did nothing. I am not sure what the problem is with that. It acts like it is nit plugged in. Checked all connections and even switched out the power strip and still nothing. Will ask hub about it when he gets home.

Terri I hope you cant get your meds in order. Pain is no fun at all.

message 9381: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 345 comments Ew yea, I agree about the doctors being dumb with the pain meds. After I had my kid, and needed stitches in a very uncomfortable place, when they sent me home, they gave me some Aleve. Like yea... thanks... that helps me like... not at all! And the baby was being bottle-fed, so it's not like they had the excuse of not wanting the baby getting dosed. I even called em back like 2 days after I got home, and was like, yo, people, I can't sit, I can't pee without it practically killing me, can't hardly walk, and they said, well, just take it every four hours instead of every six. Lame.
Hope everyone feels better or gets closer to feeling better today!
It's 11:07 a.m and I'm just messing around. Nasty cold day today, negative temperatures. I hate it! Hate the cold, hate the snow (except for at Christmas), hate the wind. I'm totally ready to move to a private tropical island!

message 9382: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 9:55 PM. I just realized I haven't posted in this thread today. I did a ton of laundry today, and am almost done with it. I made spaghetti for dinner and it was super yummy. We just watched the State of the Union, and now I've got some coffee, and am going to finish up Divergent finally. I read about 35% of it today. Mark is torturing me with brownies he made, but I am being good and resisting as best as I can. I haven't had one yet, and am trying to ignore them. I haven't decided what I'm going to read after I finish Divergent since I didn't get to The Book Thief. I doubt I could read it before the first of February. I'm thinking some Deaver short stories on my Kindle might satisfy my Deaver craving. I'm missing his work.

Katy wrote: "Oh, Terri, that sucks. Did you call your doctor and ask what was up? It could have been a mistake. I know my doctor did some screwups on my meds last fall, prescribing completely unnecessary iron p..."

Yeah, Katie, I checked it out. I tried the lower dose and called the office when it was ineffective. The answer?? "He has to see the patient to make any changes." What infuriates me was I had an extensive office visit in November and the doc never even asked about pain control. Then when I submitted this last refill, he decides to cut the dose in half without the courtesy of even telling me. I felt this was so disrespectful. This is a drug regime I have been on for over 10 years for chronic conditions ie conditions that do not go away and are expected to get worse, not better. So my hub is going to have to take off from work to take me in to see this doc, and he is going to get an earful!!

Shell, thanks for your kind offer! It helps to know there are people I can talk to.

2:29am EST. Can't sleep so I'm up reading. Just finished one good book and now I'll go back to the other good one I've also been reading. January has been a good month for my reading. It's well below 0 outside, I'm glad to have a nice warm collie snuggled up against me! Too bad I can't drink any coffee--I'm having a flare-up of pancreatitis so I can't tolerate it. :(

Samantha (mrs-mouse) | 2 comments Tried to drive to work this morning but had to turn back because of my sciatica - kept having spasms of pain when changing gear and was a danger on the road. Not sure my boss appreciated it but I have been persevering with the pain the last few days but at its worse today. Never take a day off sick usually. Trying to read & playing my iPad games but can't settle. Had this 7 years ago & know it will (hopefully) go as quick as it came! Drs subscribed some painkillers but nothing more to be done but let nature take its course! Just read a FAB book The Forgotten Seamstress and feeling bereft now. Recommend it! Hello to all out there! You make me feel less down knowing you are there with pains & trials much worse than my own! Hurrah for books!

11:51AM Well apparently my puters internal power supply is shot! UGH well lets just pull that money off of our money tree in the back yard. LOL So I have my lap top to use if it does not go back to messing up like it was before. But at least I have it for the time being. I have not been to the UBS for about 3 weeks, can we say withdrawls?

message 9392: by Angie (new)

Angie | 76 comments Its 6pm here and I'm sat watching Stormbreaker with my son. The book arrived this morning ready for a group read and I couldn't resist watching it! I couldn't go 3 weeks between delivery's , I'd have the total withdrawal symptoms, lol

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 1:10 PM. Okay, let's try this again. So, I wrote this whole post out before, but the girl in the rocking chair popped up. Argh!! Anyways, I haven't felt too well today again, but I laid down on the couch and took a slight nap. This too shall pass, though. I need to finish drying the last load I washed yesterday, and have a folding party, as my dad used to say. I should make a few YT videos, but we will see how I feel later on. The kitties are being good. Gizmo girl is in her window getting her sunshine. She makes me happy and I just love her so much. Anyways, I'm going to get lunch next....I can't decide between a sandwich or leftover vegetarian spaghetti...Hmm...

10:39 EST. Finished 2 books a while ago, so I'm just updating and checking things out on GR. Had a really good day today--the first day with no pain in a week. (Katy, Cindy, and Kathryn, hope you all feel better soon. Loving thoughts and prayers for you all.) I'm not sleepy at all, so I guess I'll be up reading for a while. Hub has an appt in the am to get some skin cancer removed from his arm, and I have a lab appt for a blood draw (my veins feel lucky this week). Hope everyone is having a peaceful night.
