Angie, that sounds terrible, I hope your landlord is helpful and that you can get it all fixed up quickly.
Terri, I admire you tackling Middlemarch. I've owned it for a little while but I'm a bit intimidated by it. Maybe that can be my 'one book' for 2015 :) Glad you are enjoying it this time around.
Janie, I wish I had volume on my speakers here at work so that I could watch your vlog - hopefully I'll get a chance when I get home tonight.

A hungry rat will eat almost anything. They are omnivores, just like humans. A lot of people tell horror stories about rats nibbling on children in ghettos or whatever, but truthfully, humans don't taste all that good to rats and they will only nibble if they're desperate. Or we smell like peanut butter or something... rats love peanut butter.
7:49 p.m. EST Had trouble falling asleep this morning. Then had trouble waking back up... lots of editing to do, whee.
8:11PM I had a great work out after dinner then got my shower! And now enjoying some coffee and gonna dig into Catching fire. Reading is going very well for me this month! YAY!
Kathryn glad you dad got his truck and that it was a good experience for you!

Kathryn, it's never nice to see our grandparents looking unwell so I'm sorry to hear about your grandma, but it's great that your grandpa looks good and that you got to spend time with them both.
1.32 PM Just raced down to the shops in my lunch break. I have my family coming for an early birthday lunch on Saturday because my grandma goes back to NZ on Wednesday. I'm going to slow roast some some lamb forequarters then cut it up and fry the pieces in seasoning so that everyone can put together their own yiros. Yummmmm. So I have to get the lamb cooked overnight tonight so that I can have everything read in time. Just going to do a meze platter with saganaki, dolmades, tzatziki, hommus, pitta, olives etc for starters so should keep things pretty simple. Hopefully this year someone remembers a cake as Toby's mum forgot that was her job last year haha!
Awww Kathryn sorry to hear your grandma does not look well! That is sad. But good news for your grandpa though. Hope you get to read some now.
Kathryn, I'm glad you got to see your grandparents. That's such a special relationship. I know how hard it is to watch them decline. (By the way, how's the kitty you found?)
Shell, can I come to the birthday lunch?? The food sounds amazing. I tried Middlemarch several times in the past and just couldn't get into it. I don't know what's different this time unless it's the fact that I've been reading a lot of 19th century fiction and I'm more comfortable with the style. I'm 300 pages in and I love the story.
Katy, I sure wish something could be done to make you more comfortable.***Hugs and healing thoughts.**
Janie, I also am having a great month of reading! I'm taking my time with books and really savoring what I read.
3:33am EST. Can't sleep tonight but I really don't mind. Taking a short break from my books and checking out GR. Charlie is lying on the bed next to me sound asleep. (That pack animal desire for contact.) The house is so quiet and peaceful. I love the wee small hours of the night.

7:43 a.m. EST Probably will go to bed soon, but want to wait until after hubby's alarm goes off. It would be annoying to just be falling asleep and then be woken again. He has to be to the new store by 9, I guess to help set it up or something.
9:07AM The house is super quiet here cause it is just me and the animals. It gives me time to accomplish stuff and think as well. So I am sitting here enjoying some coffee and soon my book. I will probably finish Catching Fire this evening since it is pretty good and a very fluid read.
11:29 pm
Just sitting here reading. Later today I have dentist. Yay (not)

Terri, thank you for asking about Spots! She seems to be doing well! Well, I assume it's a she because it's a calico, and male calicos are only 10% of the calico population. Anyways, she is eating a lot, drinking, and I even bought her some wet food, which she devours. I was really concerned when we first found her in the garage because she is so little, her bowels wouldn't be working properly or she'd have a problem with infection or something wrong because of lack of nutrition, but she is doing well on that end. Spots is getting a little less afraid of us, which is really nice. She is pretty cute, and seems like she really wants to be petted and loved on, but is still a little afraid of us, which is understandable. I hope we can find her a warm, loving home because I don't think we can keep her because Gizmo and Pepper have been together now for 4 years. And....Gizmo is a Momma's cat. SHE WOULD BE PISSED. LOL. haha! But really, I can't hurt Gizmo like that. I think she was hurt when Pepper came along, but Pepper took to Mark, so Gizmo got over it. But every now and then, when Pepper gets attention from me, I see Gizmo staring all jealous-like. I'm her's, and she shows it. haha

Kathryn, so sorry to hear about your Grandma, but glad you Grandpa is doing okay. Happy to hear your Dad got a new vehicle without spending a lifetime doing it. How's the kitten?
She'll, sounds like a wonderful feast yummm, hope you enjoy your family and the beautiful weather.
Janie you are going full spread ahead. So glad you enjoyed, The Book Thief. We are going to see the movie in the next couple of weeks.
Terri, I hope your leg and hip are feeling better. You guys have been crazy cold up there. I hope you get some relief soon.
1:42PM Sitting here reading and waiting for Hub to get home. We need to make a run into town, just the 2 of us. I have been devouring Catching Fire! I feel very fortunate so far to have enjoyed all the books I have read so far for this month. Had a salad for lunch and some Orange juice. Now getting back into my book.
Kathryn I am happy to hear kitty is doing well. That is great, and I hope you can find a new home for her. I totally understand not wanting to interrupt the lives of your other 2 kitties.
Susan, yea I think I got lucky with book choices this month because I am loving all of them. I want to also see the Book Thief, I feel like I almost have to see it come to life right off the pages, if it is good that is.

Am here watching the new series of Castle and trying to read my new book This Changes Everything. Really not sure about this one don't think I have been as lucky as you Janie with my reads. This one really has me confused.

hehe Kathryn, I know what you mean - Sega was mummy's cat and she was sooooo pissed when I got Ted. I was hoping she'd get over it but she never has. She decided pretty quickly that she liked Toby better than me after all lol!
7:02PM Well we just got back. Took our oldest, Amy, out to lunch, more like dinner I think. Then we took the plunge and got a Sam's club membership and walked around in there forever. LOL We got that great new freezer might as well stock it up. So now I am home and I am gonna have some coffee and enjoy my book. I will work out here in a little bit as well.

I love SAMs. With three guys to feed it is a must.

12:06AM Wow just finished Catching fire about 30 min ago and absolutely devoured it and LOVED it so much! Can't wait to watch the film! Had a great time conversing with Kathryn today and as she said pretty much influence each other to search out more books, work ourselves up in a frenzy for book shopping on Saturday, but it so much fun. Now I must decide what to choose to read out of my last 4 book for Jan TBR.
Happy birthday to your Dad Kathryn! And I bet your soup was unbelievable I happen to love Minestrone!

Thanks, Shell--it's a date!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATHRYN"S DAD!!
Kathryn, I missed PR last night. Had it set to record but we lost the satellite signal. Will have to pick it up next week. Did you see that Tim Gunn's program starts next week? (Spots sounds so precious. Hope you find a good home for her.)
11:25am EST. Having a lazy morning. Went back to bed after Larry left for work and didn't get up till 10! Got some excellent sleep last night! Not much planned for today except time on the laptop and, of course, lots of reading. It's Friday so it's pizza night! Larry is going out to play music tonight, so I'll be reading tonight as well. Hope everyone is having a happy Friday!

10:52AM Got a late start here today because I just did a vlog, but here I am now LOL. Having an egg sandwich and some yummy coffee. Gonna start Flesh and Bone today, excited to continue on Benny's journey through the Zombie apocalypse! So far I have loved this series! Getting even more excited for our meet up tomorrow, Me, Kathryn and Susan! And meeting up at my most favorite place in the world, The Opera House! Recycled books actually!
Terri I might have to sneak into your suitcase lol

Plus the books I'm reading are not cathing my attention.
Teri, Pizza sounds really good to me right now. Hope it was delicious
Janie, I am yet again jelous that you get to meet with Kathryn, and Susan at the book store. I would love to hang out at the book store for a bit but I have no time. Have fun!!!

That was really nice of you and Mark to take out your Dad for his birthday. I bet he really enjoyed spending the time with you guys.
8:35PM 25 min till I'm off work. Can't wait to get home an either wake up a bit after eating dinner, or crawl into bed and pass out. Hope everyone is having a good evening.

Very well put, and I understand. My parents were forever young, always active.

Chris, would love to have you hang out with us. "You need A Break Today". Wish all of the crazy BB's could get together. It would have to be a vacation... Now there's an idea. Not probable but fun to imagine.

Katy, I hope you are getting some relief.

10:35 p.m. EST Working to finish my e-mail.
12:09AM Another day rolls past *wondering if Kathryn got her vlog done in 10 min* hehe Just finished coffee, gonna read a bit I think before crawling into bed. Talked a bit with Susan and Kathryn tonight, also watched Catching Fire, so so so good.
Chris so sorry to hear you don't have much time on your hands. Try to take a little time for yourself if at all possible.

Janie, I will make my video later. Bed is calling, and I think my computer just wanted to be stubborn. haha!
10:51am EST. Leisurely drinking my coffee and hanging out on GR. Hub is still sleeping, it was after 2 when he got home from jamming last night, but at least he had a great time. Charlie is out in the yard getting muddy. We had a huge thunderstorm last night, I think it's in the 60s already. What crazy weather! Last week it didn't get above 0! I prefer cold, snow, and ice to mud any day. I'm jealous that Kathryn, Janie and Susan get to meet today! Hope you guys have a great time! I plan to spend the day reading, cooking, and doing laundry. Chris, I hope you've recovered from last night! I don't envy you your schedule. I wish that things would get better for you. Happy Saturday everyone!
