1.31 PM Just having a lunch break and trying to get finish off these cookbooks I'm making for my family. I have to have them done by the 15th!I was all excited this morning as I had a parcel to collect from the post office and I was sure it was going to be books but it turned out to be some Everlast exercise clothing I'd ordered online before Christmas - I'd totally forgotten about it! Hopefully my books aren't too far away.
Janie, I hope everything is sorted out with your water and your pipes, that must have been so frustrating for you :(
Oh and really exciting news, I can't believe I nearly forgot to tell you guys... I got asked to be a bridesmaid today!! My boss and his partner are getting married in April and I was so not expecting them to ask me - I'm absolutely stoked and honoured!
That's awesome Michelle. Congrats on being asked to be a brides made. Glad you shared your excitement with us. Hope your day is going well today. 10:20PM home from work. Just had a late dinner and now watching Castle we taped on our DVR.

Shell yea the water issue is all worked out. Pretty sure it was on their end because we did not have to do anything to fix it. So it was back on a few hours after I discovered a problem!
LOL, I know what you mean - GR is so distracting! I was like that last night :)So glad you got everything sorted out and that you didn't have to go to great lengths to get it all fixed!
11:35 PM. Really distracted lately. It's frustrating. I'm behind on my reading already, and just haven't felt like reading. When I do pick up Firestarter, it's interesting, but it never fails that something always distracts me. Sorry to gripe, but it is irritating.
I know what you mean Kathryn. I go through phases like that all the time. Just take a break and enjoy the time you have. You will get back into the swing of things reading wise. Maybe afire starter isn't the book to get you out of your reading funk. Hope everything else is going well.

Shell, I don't think it's the buddy read at all. Maybe tomorrow if I just sit down and read without any distractions, I will be able to get more into it. When I do read it, it's interesting. I think the holidays just kind of wore me out. Lol
12:26 PM. So, the night of Mark's holiday party for the hospital, I saw something run into our garage that looked like a bunny. We have a few of them which live around here, and are always seen in our yard. I came out Sunday to do laundry, and saw it was about a two month old kitten. IT IS ADORABLE!!! It looks like it wants to be friendly with us, but is still a bit scared. We put a box with a towel, food, and water out for it, and it's been sleeping in the box, eating, and drinking. Tonight, we were able to make it a little litter box, and it has been walking around in it. One of Mark's coworkers said if we can get it to be friendly, they might just take it. We went out and sat down and called it to us, and she actually doesn't act too scared of us. She watches us like she wants to come up, but it will just take a few days or weeks of doing that for her to come up to us. Anyways, need to go get ready for bed so I can try to read a few pages. This super cold weather makes me sleepy.
I know what that's like Kathryn, I hope you get some time to relax and enjoy some reading tomorrow.That is so awesome about the kitten! I can't wait to hear what happens! :)

Its 2.20 pm here in Manchester and I'm waiting for my water to get hot. My boiler was finally fixed after 6 days!!
9:13 a.m freezing my behind off, just cranked up the heaters. Poor dumb kitty is outside in this terrible weather, I called for him last night but he wouldn't come out of wherever he's hiding. Hope he doesn't freeze to death. Trying to get babe an appointment to get his tooth pulled and I can't find his insurance card. Arg!

Kathryn sorry to hear you are off a bit. You could just be wanting to settle down a bit. Holidays can do that to us sometimes. Hope you can get back into some reading. The kitty sounds so cute, I hope you can make friends with it and the kitty can find a forever home. Even here in Texas the temps are very cold and a kitty may have a hard time surviving it.
It is 11 15 am just finished making a batch of chocolate chip cookies, it is -25 celsius up here. Soooo chocolate chips cookies, coffee and my book should be just fine :).

2:27pm, EST. Been on the computer for over an hour already! The time just gets away from me. Great to see your posts, Chris! I also love the winter, but I think we're in the minority! Pretty cold here, just got above 0. We'll be well below 0 again tonight. Hub didn't have to work today so we're just hanging out together in our sweats and keeping warm. I just looked over at him and he's actually starting the taxes already! Very ambitious. About to go get some fresh coffee and get lost in my reading. Hope everyone's staying warm!
2:33 p.m. EST Put in some pretty good time on this MS to edit, but it's SUPER long (almost 800 pages) so... I think it's time for a nap. I've allotted 2 weeks to this beast...
5:27PM Working tonight and looking forward to getting home. Blues game is on at 8:30 so the last half hour of my shift should go quickly. Janie, it sounds like you had a great day with Aeverie distracted. That was really nice of the older boys to include him.
Teri, I have missed talking with you and others while I was busy with the holidays and such.
We are in a bit of a heat wave right now, it got up to 25 degreese. Break out the sunscreen and shorts. I envy your husband getting started on the taxes. I would too if I didn't have to wait for my W2s. once i get those I will be doing it very soon.
6:59pm. Came home to 3 electric heaters on full blast, and still a little chilly in the house, but comfortable. I think it is time for cocoa... :OBTW: the AC/heat is on 75, but the temp in the house is about 62... the south is not made for this.

Cocoa sounds good right now with a big bowl of soup or chili. You should put a little Pepermint Schnapps in that cocoa and enjoy being home tonight ;-)

11:23pm EST. Getting sleepy but I just finished a book that was great fun (The Rook) and now I'm checking out GR. I know how one thing leads to another on this site, so I'll be up at least another hour. It's only Jan. 7 but already I have so much I want to read this year! And I always need to allow time for the newly published books. I guess that's the life of a true reader...

10:54 PM. About to start reading. I've been in the laundry room trying to let the kitten get to know me a bit. I had a great workout this afternoon, and afterwards went to the grocery store. Came home and put up the groceries, cooked dinner, went to hang out with the kitten, and it seems like this evening has just flown by. Tomorrow there is a possibility my dad and I are going to go buy him a new truck. I really hope it is tomorrow because I just wish he would just do it and stop talking about it. If we go, we are also going to go see my grandpa and grandma since the truck he wants to buy is near them. Anyways, going to read some. :)

5.08 PM Finishing work at 5.30PM so will get home just before 6PM. I made tonight's dinner last night - just a roast veg frittata, so I'll whip up a quick salad to go with it so we can eat straight away, then Toby and I are going to go for a nice long walk. We need to make the most of the long days while we still have them and the weather today is beautiful.
10:10 AM. Good morning, GR!!! Dad called and said we are going to go buy him a new truck today so I needed to get ready. So, I'm getting ready and waiting on him to get here. Oh what fun this might turn out to be. Hopefully I get to see my grandma and grandpa today. Bringing my book while I wait for the car buying to be over. Lol

Its 5pm here and I'm still trying to get straight after my boiler broke and water leaked everywhere! The floor in my hall is ruined so now its down to me getting the landlord to replace it. Its a good job I'm on the ground floor because otherwise it would of gone into other peoples apartments.
What a mess, Angie! Good luck with your landlord.
12:55pm EST. Just taking it easy today. The cold weather really makes the rod in my leg and the pin in my hip hurt like heck. Plan a lot of reading today. Tackling Middlemarch for the 3rd time and really liking it. I don't know what my problem was the other 2 times. I also have 8 books at the library to pick up. Hub is off tomorrow so I know where he'll be going. LOL. Hope everyone is having a great day!
