What time is it and what are you doing?
10:50AM Getting a late start to this thread because I have been busy setting up my challenges for this year! So excited to be doing challenges again! I love seeing all the participation with our members! Y'all make this group so great and I appreciate all of you!
So now I am about to go get the tree down, then have some lunch, and then do a short workout (Yay will feel good to get back into the normal routine) Then I guess start tackling this book, Patient Zero. I also have to do another vlog on my December reads and my plans for Jan tbr's. Happy New Year to all of you!

6:09 p.m. EST Just up and starting to do stuff. It's chilly but the past couple days if I turn up the heat I feel crappy, so I'll just deal with the chill. Need to try to finish this edit project.
5:19pm almost home from our trip to Houston. Going eat, shower and get on Goodreads on my computer to get my challenges in order and ready! Bring it on 2014!
00.44am. Been reading A Storm of Swords: Blood and Gold and Black House since they are my january starts :) x
7:57 PM. Whew!!! What a day!! Got up, got donuts and coffee, bought my boy a beautiful new coat he wanted, and then went thrift shopping!! Y'all!!! I sound like Janie!!! I bought 25 books!!!!!!! Will post them in the appropriate thread!!!! Most were 49 cents, and a few hardbacks for 1.91-2.92, depending on the thrift store.
9:12pm just put the little one to bed. Checking up on GR after a long hiatus. Looking for some classic novel suggestions to add to my reading list. I just developed a recent taste for them, after being tortured with Great expectations in AP English high school. hehe working on my 1000 piece Doctor Who puzzle, and trying to stick to my Resolutions.
9:27PM had a great workout, so nice to be back into the groove of things. I have missed it. Had a shower and now gonna read some more of Patient Zero.
LOL Kathryn, sound like Janie? Whatever do you mean by that? LOL I have no idea at all.

10:07 PM. Just finished adding the books I bought onto my TBR, did a haul video, and put the books on my shelves. I need to upload the vlog, which I will do now. :) Kind of want something sweet and am going to start Firestarter. Janie, hahah!!!! It's not a bad thing!!! I am so happy to see posts from you!!
Its 11am in the UK, and I'm trying to get all my groodreads up to date! I fell asleep early last night so there's quite a bit. Then I have to take my cat to the vet.
10.52 PM Had a lovely day today with my husband. We went to buy a new fridge as our old one was on the way out. While we were at it we decided to go out for lunch and visit a cooking store and a few book shops. I got a gorgeous new apron and a few other little bits and pieces at the cooking store but unfortunately the only book I found today was Don Quixote. Funny how some days I'll find 50 books I want then other days I can't find any! Was going to read some Firestarter but got distracted updating my website and catching up on GR threads :)
12.34pmJust about to go make some lunch, and curl up on the sofa with said lunch, and War and Peace :)
8:58AM Been hanging out here for a bit, had some breakfast and uploading another book vlog. Noticed I am up to 36 subscribers which made me very happy. YAY! We are going into Roanoke to pick up another book case for me. Denton Wal-Mart did not have any in black. And I need another one because that last huge haul I had have no place to go. LOL
There is a great breakfast (greasy spoon) in Roanoke on 377 across from the railroad tracks. I never remember the name... I think it is like The Cafe or something. Best gravy ever. Lol
12:57pm EST. Sitting on the couch cuddling with my dog Charlie watching the lovely snow (we've had 5 inches) and hanging out on GR. Been on the computer for 90 minutes already, time sure flies. Plan to spend the afternoon finishing the laundry and reading some excellent books. Glad to see everyone moseying on back to this site after the holidays!
1:39 PM. Getting ready to take down our beautiful Christmas tree and put up all of our Christmas decorations. :(((( This Christmas season didn't seem to last very long. :/ Oh well. I can say I am looking forward to spring and all of the beautiful colors from the flowers, trees, and hearing the birds chirping happily. I'm a nature girl. My dad called me earlier and it sounds like he wants to go buy a new work/field truck and needs me to go with him so he can trade in both of his vehicles. I kind of wish he would and wouldn't do this...Ugh. Long story. Anyways, I really need to get busy. I had to take care of some stuff on Amazon. Bought some items on November 12 and have never received them. The seller is giving me such a hassle over a refund. I had to file a claim through Amazon, and fortunately, they are going to take care of it and issued a refund immediately. I guess they will just go after the seller to get reimbursed. I expect to get a nasty email later from the seller, but you don't tell the purchaser you've issued a refund three times in three days, which should show in your account in a few hours, and as of noon today, there was no refund. And after looking through some of their feedback, it sounds like this happens quite frequently. Anyways, end rant. Going to get my home back in order, workout, and go to the bookstore. I am really thrown off by yesterday's holiday, and I keep thinking today is Monday. haha! Hope you all are having a great day and had a wonderful New Year's! :)
Kathryn, if you were buying books on amazon, let me recommend a seller called electric-chicken. I ordered a book from them on December 30th and it arrived on the 31st!
Lucy wrote: "Kathryn, if you were buying books on amazon, let me recommend a seller called electric-chicken. I ordered a book from them on December 30th and it arrived on the 31st!"Hi Lucy! That particular order wasn't books, sadly :(, but thank you so much for the recommendation! I actually buy books through sellers, so I am going to go look at what they have to sell! Yay! Their shipping was super fast! :)
Finally back into the normal routine of things. December was very busy and now back from a long trip from Florida visiting my in laws for Christmas. It was chilly there in the 60s which was great..I hate the heat!
7:59pm. Thinking about sleep... and lots of it. I stayed up til 2:30am, reading A Thousand Splendid Suns. after a long day at work, it is time to read and sleep. :O

Kathryn wrote: "Go get some sleep so you don't get sick!!! :) ..."that is true. i hear the wind blowing bad, now. off to bed guys... :O
Susan wrote: "There is a great breakfast (greasy spoon) in Roanoke on 377 across from the railroad tracks. I never remember the name... I think it is like The Cafe or something. Best gravy ever. Lol"My husband and I went to Florida for our first anniversary, sort of a late honeymoon, and noticed these 24-hour strip club/truck stops being advertised on the Interstate. We were curious so we stopped at one. Best pancakes I've had other than my own mothers, I swear. It was amazing.
9:15 p.m. EST Went to bed about 4 this morning. Woke up hurting about 3 p.m. so took some medicine and went back to sleep. Had some of the weirdest dreams today. They've left me unsettled... I need to try to finish this edit.
Its 5am and I've ended up reading all night, but I've not done that for a while as I've been sick. I've just read I Am not a Serial killer which was great. Not what I was expecting so that was great, I love it when books surprise me. But I'm going to go make a cup of tea and hope my eyes stop aching.
12:56am checking GR gave up on finishing the puzzle tonight, just received my 3 new books in the mail. Not wanting to go to sleep, not looking forward to tomorrow.
Oh, Angie, so glad you enjoyed I Am Not a Serial Killer; I loved that series!3:52 a.m. EST Heavy duty Buffy watching over here in Georgia. Apparently it's pretty nasty out there, rained then froze, black ice, high winds, chance for snow (although not much of one) and cold today. Good day for watching Buffy... although I really do need to edit those last 11 pages before the end of the weekend...
8.55 PM Another busy but fun day today. I had lunch with a friend in the city then went book shopping and picked up a few bargains which I will now go post in the appropriate thread, then I'm going to sit down with Firestarter and eat some chocolate!! :O
6:01 a.m. EST Watching late Season 3 Buffy and crying. Very cathartic. I don't even like Angel, but... Heh. Wait until the Spuffy stuff comes up, then I'll really be a mess....
Woke up to about 8 inches of snow waiting to see if there's work today...but I'm certainly not rushing either. Don't think a plow came by yet.
8:42AM Wow noticed I did not come back here last night to post, I hate when I do that. I am struggling through Patient Zero and I so wanted to love it since it is by Jonathan Maberry. About 130 pages in and I am gonna force myself to finish this by tomorrow. Hub is making us breakfast today. Aves is here this morning he is playing on his phone. Love this lil guy!
11:37am EST. Having a laid back morning with my dog Charlie. Drinking coffee and hanging out on the computer. It's bitterly cold today, Charlie can only go out for about 20 minutes at a time. Feeling really good! Yesterday I actually went out and shoveled snow off the driveway. (This is practically unheard of for me!!) I just wanted to lighten the load for my hub. It took me 45 minutes, but by God I got it done! I'm enjoying the last day of the Christmas tree. We only got a small one which is sitting on Charlie's crate. It's really beautiful, though. It's a live one we can plant when the ground thaws. Happy Friday everyone! (Pizza night!)
12:00 PM. Good morning/afternoon, everyone! I am late getting on this thread. I think I am going to kick it in high gear and get some stuff done around the house, go to the post office and mail my thank-you notes, (ran out of stamps!), and do a few vlogs for my YouTube channel. I would love if all I had to do tonight was just read. :) I hope everyone is having a great day! It's almost the weekend!! :)Terri, so glad to see you post! Good for you on shoveling snow! That is hard work when there is a lot of it. When we had that bad ice storm a few weeks ago, A LOT of our trees broke around our yard. I wanted to help Mark out and while he was at work, I piled up all of the branches, and called to have them picked up. It's nice when we can do little/big things like that to help our husband's out. I do it when I can, but sometimes...I have to admit...there are something I can't do. I'm way too short!
12:19PM Feeling a little sore today especially when I stretch. Taking a week off of working out shows when I get back to it. LOL Will be having lunch here in a moment. Been reading this AM so I got a bit further in my book. So want to finish by tomorrow, we will see. So I got to order some books today! YAY! Was gonna try to get them from Book depository but their system is messed up. And then Book outlet did not have the ones I wanted, so I ended up with Amazon instead. I order Enclave and Outpost, and then I order Under the never Sky and its sequel Through the Ever Night. I have heard so many good things about that series from fellow book tubers I knew I had to have them.
Terri so glad to hear you are doing well. Enjoy snuggling up with this colder weather. We had about 65 on Wednesday then barely hit 40 yesterday and today is much the same. I can remember when I was younger we used to shovel the driveway for Dad. LOL
Kathryn I too try to do stuff for Randy if I can. I did get most of the ice out of our driveway when we had the ice storm a couple of weeks ago.

Janie, I've seen so many people on BookTube enjoying Under the Never Sky and Through the Ever Night. I might have to pick that series up as well. I try to stay away from YA, because it's usually a hit or miss with me...mostly a miss, but I will have to keep an eye out for the first book and see if I like it or not....OR!!! I will just wait for your thoughts on it. haha! Since you and I have about the same tastes in books, I trust your judgement, and will let you be the test subject. haha!!!
1:47 pm
I so need to get back on to a schedule with school. I don't do well when I am not on a routine. In fact wish everybody would get to their regular schedule. Sorry to complain here but I think I needed to vent a little.

2:56PM About to start some dinner early so we can take Aves to the playground. Gonna have some Frito pie. My book has gotten so much better. One of those kinds that start out great, then slow down, then gets good again. I just hope it stays good from this point.
Kathryn I only decided on those books because of what I have heard from others. I don't read a whole lot of YA either, if I do it is generally dystopian or apocalyptic stories. So I am thinking these will be good. :::fingers crossed:::

"Hi Lucy! That particular order wasn't books, sadly :(, but thank you so much for the recommendation! I actually buy books through sellers, so I am going to go look at what they have to sell! Yay! 21.27pm
Been at a birthday party today for my frien's 6yr old, which meant my 1yr old was exhausted, and went to bed half an hour early. Not had a peep from him, which meant mummy got to read for the last 6 hours with no interruptions. Now 90% through War & Peace :)
8:03PM We ended up going to the playground, played some basketball while we were there. Just had a good work out, and now ready to settle in and read some more. Aves is sleeping, but I don't plan on him staying asleep since he went to sleep before 7:00.
9:49 p.m. EST Didn't go to sleep until almost noon today, woke up a bit before 8. Doing the Buffy/Angel Season 4/Season 1 thing, which is a bit tricky.
7.45 PM Had another great day of book buying... it's so nice being on holidays, it gives me so much time to go op shopping! As well as some great books I also found some great vintage cookware - a massive Fowlers preserving kit and a Pyrex double boiler from the 1940's - Toby looked it up on the net when we got home and they are selling for up to US$200 on ebay - we only paid $15 so a nice bargain there! After shopping we went and spent some time with Matt & Charlie - Charlie is growing up so quickly! It always warms my heart when he is so happy to see me, I hope he will always love me the way he does now!
Thought I better do some chores when I got home so I cleaned out and reorganised all my kitchen cupboards - SO glad that's all done so now I can relax and read some more of Firestarter!!
1.30pmJust finishing up on Goodreads, then heading off to finish War and Peace if my 17m old lets me put him down x
12.14 AM Watching video clips (music) on TV with my husband wishing I didn't have to go back to work on Monday :/
8:39AM Sitting here with my coffee, watching Kathryn's Vlogs! Yay! Going to have breakfast soon. And finish up Patient Zero. Which is a great read. I am happy it got so much better.
Shell, great deal you found, how awesome is that! I love when we find purchases like that! Glad you enjoyed your time with Matt & Charlie! I am sure he will love you always. The love can be so overwhelming sometimes and makes us feel so special!

9:28 AM. Good morning, GR!! Today we are kind of busy..Mark gets his haircut at two, and tonight we have to get all dressed up for Mark's hospital's Christmas party that was delayed a few weeks ago because of the ice. I finally get to wear the pretty dress I bought for it a few weeks ago. :) I think I am going to make some coffee, eat breakfast, read a little, and get ready to go to get Mark's haircut. I always have to take him because he isn't from Dallas, like me, and gets confused about the highways. Anyways, I hope you all have a super great Saturday! Michelle, I love to hear Charlie gets excited to see you! My brother's kids have always been excited to see me, I think because I'm their only aunt on their dad's side. But my sister in law has six siblings, and from what Jen tells me, I'm one of their favorites. They always love coming over and seeing me. My niece Lillian and nephew James make it very clear to everyone I'm their favorite. Haha, they told their mom that! It makes me feel good. :)

Wondering why my 5yr old refuses to listen to a word I say this morning, and adding all of my January reads to my Currently Reading Shelf. I've got 6 books on there right now lol.
