Thanks a lot, Chuck. Now I can't get the damn jingle out of my head.

1100 CST (been here since 0700 CST). Here I am, on my first day shift at this hotel (it's the holidays, we're on a skeleton crew, and when someone gets sick it's the person with the day off who gets to cover it.) I've never worked a day shift, but if I can't figure it out after 6 years here, I better find another line of work.
1:49pm. Homemade Chili in the Crock-Pot; clothes are laundering and so am I. Just about done reading Swan Song and am loving it!@Janie. Welcome back!! So glad you enjoyed your family *waves*
@Susan... hehhehehe. i can't help it, sarcasm and smart-assery are built-ins with this model. ;D
4:07 p.m. EST This morning some aliens abducted me and replaced my brain with Gouda. I can't stop eating it. Does that make me a zombie? Anyway, my ability to think and reason degrades with every bite, so I'll probably be watching reality TV again soon.
00.16amDownloading my newest purchase to my kobo. I treated myself to NOS4A2 tonight :) I've had my kobo for a year, lol.
Still reading War and Peace too :) x
8:51 p.m. EST Some vampires kidnapped my new friends and I had to fight them off, but there was this one super-buff vampire that almost had me, if I hadn't been wearing the cross that dark, mysterious guy gave me. Unfortunately, while I rescued two of my new friends, one I did not, so I'll have to go and try to find him in the tunnels under the city...Oh, wait, that's the plot to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. What am I doing, then? *nibbles on some gouda/brain* Umm... no idea.
1.16 PM Sitting on the couch with my laptop, catching up on GR for the first time in what feels like AAAAAAGES!!! I've missed you guys!!! I hope you all had a happy and safe Christmas and enjoyed lots of delicious food. It's been a hectic week or two and it's nice now to just sit and relax... and to finally finish off three of the books that had been sitting on my sidetable for the past few months. @ Sean - I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, that is just tragic. It is always sad when someone passes away, but it is especially sad at this time of year when people should be celebrating. Just yesterday a female cyclist was killed in a hit and run accident on one of our local roads. So terribly sad, and also scary to think that someone could just drive away from that :(
@ Kathryn - who has been hurting your feelings Miss?! Would you like me to pay them a visit? LOL!!!

Michelle wrote: "1.16 PM Sitting on the couch with my laptop, catching up on GR for the first time in what feels like AAAAAAGES!!! I've missed you guys!!! I miss you and I am closer to Kathryn and would definitely pay them a visit orrrrrr just kidnap her and her hubby and (Dad) if he would come, on the next expected family visit. Crapolla is what that is.
Welcome back girl, last time I heard from you, you were making a very thorough Mexican feast. Hope all is well with you. Hugs
Sean, saw your post and cried for the ones left behind. Emotions run high during this season. Hugs to you.
Thanks for the warm welcome back Susan, I missed you too! You have a good memory - the Mexican feast was a huge success :) I'm now getting ready for the next big cook up, we're having about 20 people around for NYE. I'm just going to do some slow cooked lamb, sausages and meat patties on the BBQ, potato bake, some sticky chicken pieces and a whole bunch of salads. I've ordered all the groceries online and am getting them delivered so that I don't have to face the supermarket - it's going to be crazy in there! All I'll have to do is pop into the butchers to pick up my order. I adore online shopping! Hope all is well with you and that you are enjoying the festive season. Hugs right back atcha!
What time should I be there? Wow what a feast. We used to have a grocery store that delivered here "Albertsons". I miss it... Believe it or not I spent less money. No compulsive buying. Oh, well; so glad you are back and I hope your meal is a true success. Are you trying to get clientele for a catering service?? Or just feeding an army?
Susan, I'd love if you could come! I agree, I think I'm going to start ordering online more often, I definitely didn't buy anything I don't need - which most certainly would have happened if I went to the shops! Lol, I probably have over catered, but being NYE it will be good for people to have lots of food to pick at later in the night. Haha my husband thinks I should start a lasagne delivery service! I made a massive one and a huge potato bake for Christmas day thinking I could take the leftovers to my friends 'leftovers party' the next day but I went away for a couple of hours and when I came back, all the leftovers had been eaten! Lasagna and potato bake are always a safe bet when catering for people lol!
Lol. That's hilarious. Maybe you should think about it?? Glad to hear you are fine and hope you can come across the pond to visit us soon!?
Susan, you're the second person to ask me that. Of COURSE it's smoked gouda...11:12 p.m. EST So I was trying out for the cheerleading squad when the girl with the best moves burst into flames! I managed to smother it with a tapestry, but damn. Then the mean girl went blind, which was just freaky, and some other girl's mouth sealed. Weird stuff. I suspect a witch.
No, wait... What was I saying? *nibbles on more gouda/brain*
1:07 a.m. EST I'm really worried about my friend. He's acting very weird ever since we followed those bullies into the hyena cage. And now someone, or something, has eaten the pig that is the school mascot. Could it be a hyena demon of some sort?

Hehe!
6:12 a.m. EST Geez, an Incan mummy rose. I mean, come ON... All I wanted to do was go to the dance but now I have to try to track down and stop this mummy. I swear, it's always something...
1:09pm. Just finished reading
, and highly recommend this to everyone. About to read some of
, since it is a cozy mystery and today is quite miserable and rainy.
4:52 p.m. EST Just crawled out of bed about a half hour ago. Someone shoot me and put me out of my misery... *sigh* Guess I'll keep watching Buffy for today and hope my concentration is back for tomorrow when I need to edit stuff.
4:04PM Hanging around GR today checking in on all the stuff I have missed. Have one more Christmas celebration tonight after work and then I can put the holiday behind me. Get to see My Dad's side and that is always fun. They are all going out to dinner now and I will catch up to them in an hour or so. Hope everyone is doing well and I have caught up with a few already. I really missed everyone here. Have a good reast of the weekend or good Monday if you are further ahead time wise.
Cassie wrote: "8:13pm just went through Huntsville, TX. On our way to south Houston to see my dad and step mom."Have a safe trip Cassie!!!! :-)
8:22PM Desperatly waiting till the end of my shift. I'm starving and need to go to the store on the way home still. Hope everyone is doing well, and I'm sure I wont be on tomorrow or on the 1st so Happy New Year to all of you.
Its 3.30 in the morning here in Manchester, so I should be asleep! But I'm just lying down messing a trying to figure out my nexus 7. I need to sleep!!
1:18 a.m. EST Spent 5 1/2 hours editing and only managed 32 pages due to needing to change the tense on almost every single verb... *sigh* Now my brain is fried, so I think I'll watch some Buffy and try again tomorrow to finish those last pages...
I love buffy Katy! I have it all on DVD, Angel as well, I even have books and comics, my family just think I'm crazy!

1:56 p.m. EST Feeling blah. Need to finish editing.
6:11PM So we got in last night and wow I gotta say that even though I love my family and miss them greatly, it is so nice to be back home. Nothing like the familiar comforts of home! So tonight I will celebrate New years with my hub and daughters, son has to work. :::sigh::: We will have some wine with chips and salsa and then some cake as well. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of our members.
Its just gone midnight so its January here in Manchester. Have a really happy new year!!Janie I'm in with my cat and dog watching the fireworks from my window! And cake sounds perfect, especially if its got ice cream with it:-)
7:28 p.m just having a mellow night at home for New Year's this year. Feels weird, usually we get a sitter and go somewhere. But it's ok, just another night I guess :)
7:33 p.m. EST Went back to bed. Now need to decide if I'm feeling up to finishing this edit or not...
7:18 PM. Just ordered pizza for tonight. I realized I haven't posted in here in a while, but seems like I've been so busy. Really looking forward planning my 2014 reads tonight. Well, sort of...My dad is here because I went with him to pick up his car he had some maintenance done on, and needed me to drive it home. But anyways, Mark and I will probably stay up until right at midnight, then go to sleep like we do every year. Party hardy, right?! haha! Looking forward opening some wine after I eat pizza. I hope everyone has a safe night tonight and.....A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
Alondra wrote: "8:21pm. Happy New Year everyone; I will probably be sleep by the time it rolls around... heheheh"If so...See you next year. :)
8:45pm EST. We're planning a quiet evening as well. Just my hub, my older son, and me (and of course the puppy Charlie). We'll open some wine and see in the new year. Hope everyone has a happy and healthy New Year!

I'd go to the store and buy one...
4:57 a.m. EST Considering setting up a camera to watch for my brain. I think it's gone walkabout and Goddess knows where it will end up.
