What time is it and what are you doing?

Gave up on sleeping when it got to 5am, despite laying in bed doing nothing since 1am. So got up and read my book. Just want to sleep, but my 1yr old is up!
7:04AM Things back to normal around here. Kay just got on the bus 5 min ago. She did good though, off school for a total of 4 days, 3 of those just for this week. And than only having to go to school 2 days this week, it was Christmas break way early. LOL They only have to make up 2 days though because they get 2 free snow/ice days. Enjoying my coffee, about to get breakfast. My oldest daughter, Amy, cut off the tip of her finger at work on Wednesday. She did not put on the cut gloves. They had to X-ray to make sure she did not cut the bone. She cut at an angle so it missed her nail. Then she just had to send me a picture! GAH! I am so squeamish when it comes to that. She is feeling much better now. :::sigh::: She needs to be more careful.

Haha, OMG. Janie, that sounds like it hurt! I HATE to cut my hands with a knife. I don't know why, but I think it hurts worse than anything. I've never broken a bone, though, so I guess I can't compare it to much. LOL.

3:51 a.m. EST Had a nap, planning to go back to sleep again soon if hubby will stop yelling at his computer game... LOL

Just finished breakfast. Gonna head off in a mo, and wash the dishes, then read for an hour before I head out to grab my last 2 Christmas presents.
:)

8:42AM Wow I was in here only once yesterday. But then again I was pretty busy yesterday getting stuff done. So today is our Christmas, so I need to wrap presents this morning for my precious grand blessing! But I wanted to at least stop in and say hey! I am not sure how much reading I will get done this weekend, but I wanna finish my book before our trip, which should not be a problem really.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

... think i need a snack ;)

Kathryn, glad things are going well again. It is so easy to let the funk in. You are in my thoughts. Hang in there girl.
Michelle, Albondigas is my favorite soup to eat and cook. Your meal plan sounds soooo good. You will have to get to TX so we can all break bread together. Cheers
Alondra, hope your Fri. wasn't so bad....and that you are off for the weekend?

Chris, great to see you post!! Glad you are doing well. Is the end of your ordeal in sight? How's the Christmas shopping going for the kiddies? Such a great time of year to have little ones!
11:53am EST.Lazy Sat am with freezing rain and sleet. Hub going out later to library and to finish Christmas stuff. I'm planning out my baking and cooking schedule--Phew!! Lots to do. Charlie just came in the house and is he ever soaking wet! Doesn't care much for the drying process either. Have a great day everyone!

Susan, so glad to see a post from you! I've missed you!
I will be back later, and write you all messages later. Gotta go get ready to see Santa at Petsmart. hahahahahahhahahah!
10:56AM Gifts are wrapped, now waiting for my family to get here. Having Ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, biscuits and cheesecake for dinner. YUM. Amy and Cort are going to be looking at a house out here for rent. YAY! That is exciting too. To have my grandblessing so close! I might try and read a little now before they get here.
Alondra, I hope that you don't get to terribly sick, I hate congestion and coughing so much. I hate not being able to breathe the worst.
Susan glad to hear you are getting back to normal. The flu is not fun and so miserable! And YAY for holiday spirit!

Yes and no. I have a whole new ordeal infront of me and no info until hopefully Monday. Haven't started shopping for the kids yet, might do that tonight, but now we aren't sure we will have much to spend on the kids. Very frustrating, and stressful and not how I expected this Holiday to go. Things are a mess right now and I'm just exauhsted.
Thankfully I have my wife and my kids to help me through it. We always figure things out it is just waiting to get there.
Chris, celebrating your life and your love with your family is exactly what Christmas is all about! I remember many a Christmas when Larry and I were broke. We tried to make fun things for the kids. When they were young, we made books about them using construction paper and photos. As they began to recognize letters and read every year we made them "coupons." These were index cards worth special treats like "Read a story with me" or "Play a game with me" or "Help me clean up my room"or Pizza for dinner! You get my drift--you can think of a hundred things, and the best part is most of them end up with you spending time together. When the kids were too young to read we would post pictures of something or just the letter it starts with. It take a while for the process to become clear, but once it does....Look Out!! Until my kids were teenagers, the first thing they went to at Christmas was their stocking and the year's new cards!

It was a good idea for me to get on GR today. I haven't really wanted to talk much. Missed talking to all of you, it has been a long time.

Hi Chris, so nice to see a post from you, miss you. Little kids are pretty easy to please as long as you are happy and excited they pick up on it. Bubble gum hunts were always fun for us. You could even attach a puzzle piece to the gum. A treat and a prize. Puzzles are fun. Oh, and snowman building is free too. Teenagers are harder. Argh...as long as you have love and you are all healthy you are a lucky man. Hugs

Gwen, I hope you get to feeling better. Colds are no fun.

6:22 p.m. EST Been reading mostly today, although I wanted to sleep some more I can't seem to manage it. Extremely frustrated that the doctor did not send in a prescription for the medication that has been helping me prior to the weekend. Will have to call Monday to find out why.

#PrayForClaire

11:52PM Wow sorry guys for not being here today, but I was extremely busy. We had our Christmas today and had a nice time just being together. Also went over to see the house that Amy and Cort will more than likely get. it is really nice. Then after dinner we worked on crafts and made some headway. So that is good. Now I am gonna try and read a bit before bed.
Chris, I am so sorry you are going through a rough time right now. I can say that many a time we were broke too. You just have to keep on keepin on and pray a lot. it goes a long way. I think stockings were always the most favorite part of my kiddos Christmas. You can stuff them full of little dollar toys and they love that because they get so many different things in the stockings.

My little man is having a nap, so figured I would check GR and then get on with my book :) I am looking forward to reaching my challenge goal :) x
9:49AM About to get breakfast for the family. Then I really am gonna read today. Kayla is entertaining Aeverie right now. Later we will go get Amy from work so we can do more crafts and hopefully get them done! So another busy day, but oh well it is the Christmas Season!

5:14 p.m. EST His Royal Majestic Fluffiness the Fluff decided I had been in bed long enough and came in here whining at me. I showed him; I snagged him and cuddled him. Oh, he HATES that... :-)
10:54PM Wow guys, sorry I have not been around. Don't expect it to get any better till after the first of the year. Just so busy right now. I will try and be back to check in tomorrow. We will see how it goes.

#PrayForClaire has been active all day/night. They've added #Get1DtoClaire as they're trying to get One Direction to notice and visit her when she wakes up.
She's in a coma and still in critical condition, but has stabilized.
I've been following on Twitter all day, between laundry and other things. Skipped football entirely. I can't even bring myself to care that my fantasy teams tanked heh.

Thank you Chris for posting the news on the school shooting here. My nephew's school is close by to where the shooting happen and had to be put on lock down when it happen, so that was pretty scary. I will definite say a prayer for Claire as well as praying that maybe someday we can end al this school violence.
