11:39am ET. Enjoying my morning with a good cup of coffee and some toast. Updating reading lists, and trying to figure out my challenge for next year.
11:07 AM. Good cold morning, GR!!!! Drinking coffee, going to make us breakfast in a minute, then get cleaning on my house. I'm going to do some deep cleaning, which needs to be done, read, get a good workout, and keep warm. Happy Saturday!!!
Making Gumbo. An all day tasting and adding dish. Made a smoked salmon spread for a Friendsgiving we are going to tomorrow, making deviled eggs right before we go. Much better day today but so cold. Our high tomorrow is 31 with possible snow. Janie, hope Ave's BD is great! :)
Kathryn hope your kitties keep you snugly warm.
6:05pm Just finished a rough draft of a paper for my mental health class...now I'm crossed eyed. I have girl from class that is going to read and edit it! I'll get back to reading this week, I hope, school is winding down and I'm thinking of what my challenges for next year will be!
9:56PM Out all day today pretty much! Ave's party was a huge success! Left there about 3:45PM, then took son to work stopped and got the cherries for thanksgiving dessert, picked up a gift for Kay's friend Jamie since she finally decided she wanted to go to Jamie's birthday party. Then Kat, Jamie's mom, invited us too, for enchiladas. So we were there till 8:00PM. So now I finished uploaded all the pictures, and here I am on GR. Plan on reading as soon as I am done with this post! I also made my Thanksgiving Centerpiece. I think it turned out well. Here is a picture to share
12:53 AM. Y'all....I am WORN PLUM OUT. I have not stopped since noon. What turned out to be some moderate cleaning, turned out to be some MAJOR cleaning, some rearranging of books and other stuff, while listening to some music. I'm almost done, but my body said to stop. So, tomorrow, I'm going to finish up. I actually love to clean, so I am not minding the time spent; plus sometimes a deep cleaning of your home is necessary. Mark left at one point to go to the hardware store, and brought home some po' boys for dinner. After we ate, we did more cleaning. Then my sister in law in Oregon called and we talked for about an hour. I just ate some ice cream to treat myself for all of the work today. I can't believe how good our home looks. Gizmo just curled up in my lap, and I'm going to read a little bit, maybe. If I can stay awake. haha! I hope everyone has been having a great day!
8:37AM So went to sleep really early last night because the night before I was up till 3:00AM reading. So I just had breakfast and enjoying some coffee. Gonna read soon and make some more progress in Reinventing Rachel. I am loving it so far. This evening Jamie and her mom are coming over. Gonna make home made Chicken noodle soup, including the noodles. With this weather it is perfect! The boys play today I sure hope they win!
Busy busy Kathryn. We always have our all out Spring cleaning, but this year I made a new one, Fall cleaning. LOL we busted our behinds getting stuff cleaned, including the carpets. But like you said it needs to be done and the house looks so great afterwards!

10:39am EST. A bright and sunny Sunday, cold but beautiful. Drinking my am coffee and waiting for hub to get up. I got the best load of books from the library yesterday--I'm in heaven!! 14 new books!! I can't decide where to start so I've picked 6 to begin. Feeling really good again today. I've been on such a positive streak lately and I'm trying hard to keep it up. Just taking it easy this am, waiting for football to come on.
I've been sitting here remembering one of my 1st Thanksgivings that I cooked myself. It was for my m-i-l, my husband, and our 1st child who was about 3 at the time. I got some turkey wings and made stock out of them that I was going to use for gravy. When I took the container out of the fridge, I found it was thick like a gelatin and not thin like chicken stock that I was used to. I thought there was something wrong with it, so I threw it out. It wasn't until years later that I realized that the stock was so rich some of the gelatins in the meat had caused it to thicken, and in fact that was a sign that the stock was particularly rich and good. D'oh! On that day I was also steaming some broccoli, and unbeknownst to me my son had slipped a crayon into the steamer basket, so we ended up with a purple crayon in the veg! It seemed like such a disaster at the time. Now we look back on it and laugh.
Hope everyone is having a happy Sunday!

10:03AM I am reading Reinventing Rachel. Pretty good story so far, not as dramatic as I thought it would be, but we will see what else happens.
Terri it is always awesome to look back at holiday memories. Randy and I have been doing Thanksgiving dinner for a very long time. We love it! My oldest daughter Amy has made it tradition for her to make the deviled eggs. hehe! She loves to be a part of it all and had gotten very good with the eggs!

10:18 AM. Goooooood morning, GR! I am soooo glad I took two Aleve last night right before bed. It took away my aches from cleaning yesterday, and I slept very well. Mark is still asleep, so I think I will get coffee going, read, and eat some oatmeal. Yum! It's supposed to start icing/sleeting/snowing at some point later today. I've lived in Texas all of my life, and I can't ever remember snow before Thanksgiving. Then Tuesday it's supposed to warm back up. Typical Texas, though. Anyways, happy Sunday everyone! Terri, I'm sleep glad you've been having good days lately. 14 books! Yay!!! I hope they are good! (((Hugs)))
Janie, wanna come over and help me clean the rest? Hehe! Jk! Stay warm!!!
Alondra, hope you get lots of reading time in. :)
Good morning GR. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday! I woke up this morning with the exciting Holiday Spirit. Let the fun begin! I can't believe Christmas is only a month away. A few more reads and then I am going to start the Christmas books I have been saving up. Today is our Friensgiving with a great group of people. I hope the "Boys" have a good game!
In return, I'd help you clean, too! I like cleaning, actually. I turn on some music, and just clean away. I love the after of everything looking and feeling clean. It's definitely worth the work. There's nothing like a clean home.
11:01 a.m. Finally finished The Twelve and started Dr. Sleep....every excited! Have to work later...ugh. Have a great day everyone!
2:02PM Read some more and would like to finish this book, and then read more Ashes to Ashes. Have to get started on our noodles soon, but I think I can read a bit more till then.
6:21pm ET. About to start in on Allegient with Victor this week. I have to cook Mac & Cheese tonight for a office party/meeting tomorrow..AFTER work.. i am none too happy about that. It is a short week, though. i expect to get lots of reading done and no chores... :D
7:04PM Had dinner of home made chicken noodle soup! Yum the weather sure does call for it. Then got to watch my boys win! YES! They needed it! Now gonna read some more!
7:32 PM. I have missed you guys today. :) I've been cleaning some other things, went to the store to get some garlic bread for dinner tonight, came home, and cooked spaghetti. My dad came over and watched the 'boys win. YAY! I am pretty worn out from all of my cleaning, but the house does look lovely. It surely is cold out, and I haven't read much at all this weekend, so I might make some decaf and read. It'd be nice to finish P&P tomorrow. :)
Janie wrote: "Kathryn, I miss you too! Do we have to bolt you down to a chair? heh! J/K"Haha, I think you might!!! I have laundry to do tomorrow. :( Oh, I am going to do a video tomorrow showing my shelves since they are nice and pretty now! :)
8:24 pm
Just finished watching Boardwalk Empire, it was the season finally and oh my god so much happen! I am still in shock and sad because they killed off one of my favorite characters tonight. On a more happier note tomorrow I start thanksgiving/fall break this week. And then all I have is two weeks left of school for the semester!

10:11PM Aeverie did not come tonight he will be here tomorrow, so I am taking advantage of the quiet time tonight. Pretty sure I will finish Reinventing Rachel tonight sometime then I am gonna work on Ashes to Ashes, no picking up any other books until that one is done.
LOL Kathryn ok I will try not to hurt you too bad, Heh! looking forward to your next vlog!

8:09 AM. Good morning, GR. I have been up for a while. My allergies have been flaring up since last night, and I took some sinus Nyquil before bed. I can't really tell if it helped. Coffee just finished, and I'm going to read for a bit, eat some breakfast of some sort, and get laundry started. It doesn't appear any ice or sleet fell last night, which is a good thing. Hopefully, Mark doesn't have a hard time getting to the hospital, which is just down the street. Hope you all have a wonderful day! Happy Thanksgiving week to all of our U.S. members!
8:05
Good morning everyone! Even though I do not have school today or this entire week actually I still woke up early. I guess my body and mind are just use to getting up on Monday. I did soak in the bathtub to warm up and loosen up my joints and now I am reading while I wait for my mom to come home with bagels for breakfast. Hope everyone is having a good day so far:)

9:28AM Have laundry going (since Kathryn and I are in the Monday morning laundry club), Drinking some coffee and now checking it out here. Hub did go to work this AM he works at 3:30AM on Monday mornings. I really thought he would not go because it rained pretty heavy out here, and with temps as low as they were, it was worrying. But he went and the worse of it is past for now.
I'm so glad it did not freeze all that rain we had last night. It would have been an ice skating rink today in the Metroplex. Had a blast yesterday at Friendsgiving, 45 for Turkey. Good thing there were three turkeys:) I'm doing laundry as well K and J. Hope everyone has a great week! Feeling like a kid; I want to start decorating.
I was glad it did not freeze either Susan. What part of the metroplex do you live? If you don't mind me asking. I live out between Ponder and Justin, about 20 min from Denton.
It's the weirdest thing. For some reason, if I don't actually post, I stop receiving updates for this. Any other thread, simply visiting it from the link in the e-mail resets it and then new updates come, but here? Nope. Sorry I've been MIA!2:43 p.m. EST Ended up going to Red Lobster yesterday and having some clam chowder, which was delicious. Unfortunately, eating and I are still not being very good friends. Oh, that reminds me, I need to call and set up an appointment with my doctor. Have some editing to do, and will probably work ahead and do next week's editing as well. Happy Monday...
Janie wrote: "I was glad it did not freeze either Susan. What part of the metroplex do you live? If you don't mind me asking. I live out between Ponder and Justin, about 20 min from Denton."Not far from you at all, we are West of you in Double Oak.
Well that is cool! Hub just explained to me where you are! hehe Kathryn looks like maybe another meet up at the book store with Susan.
It is really a lot of fun Susan. The UBS is huge, it is housed in the old Denton Opera house. It has 3 floors of books. Then when we wrap it up there we swing out the door and head a few doors down to Jupiter house for some coffee. makes for a fun, relaxing time!
7:23PM Son ordered Pizza for dinner, so we ate, then I had my work out, showered and have been reading Ashes to Ashes. I am here now checking it out.
8:30 PM. Sitting here thinking Janie and I were destined to be friends: we're having pizza tonight, too. hahah! I've been cleaning again today. Well, mainly laundry, and sometimes, you know how it is, when you've been on a cleaning streak, you find more things to clean or straighten up. Laundry is getting there...After I finish eating, I'm going to make a loaf of banana nut bread because I've got a few ripe bananas which are perfect for banana nut bread. I actually like my bananas with a little green still on them. I'll also keep going on laundry a bit longer, but I am getting worn out. I plan on reading and drinking some coffee tonight. I'm trying to get all of my laundry and cleaning done by tomorrow night, so come Wednesday, I can relax, read, make three pies, get my turkey brining, make my corn bread, and as I said....relax. haha!
9:59 p.m. EST Took a short nap because I had to take stuff for my pain that made me sleepy (muscle relaxers). Now I feel all spacy. Oh, well, back to editing.
10:42PM just finished watching The Santa Clause 2 with Aves and Kay. I love that movie! So now I am back here checking things out. Will read some more this evening. Right now Kay is entertaining Aeverie.
Cassie you know the UBS in Denton?
Kathryn you know we were destined to be friends! We operate well with one another! I love it! Of course I can't take the credit for the pizza idea, that was all my son.
Susan it is an amazing place! I can stay in there for hours and since I converted my husband to a reader he enjoys it there too!

11:10 PM. Sitting down to read for a bit. I've got one load of clothes still in the dryer, and one waiting in the washer for the dryer. LOL. I hope that made sense. My banana bread is done, and it smells yummy. Mark is in bed with Gizmo. He's got to get up SUPER early in the morning and get some stuff done so he's not behind for Friday by being off Thanksgiving. I think he wants to get it all done ASAP so he can come home a little early Wednesday evening. Anyways, I'm going to stay up for a bit and read. Hope you all have a great night!Janie, I agree!!!
8:42 AM. Goood morning, GR....I can't believe I'm actually awake. I didn't go to sleep until about 1:30 am. Then, Mark woke me up twice before 6:45 am. Currently, I'm eating some oatmeal with walnuts and dark brown sugar and drinking coffee. I might go lay down for a bit after I eat. I tried to earlier, but once I'm awake, I'm usually awake. All of the laundry is done, but just needs to be put away; I need to clean our two bathrooms, and I need to mop the entire house. Then....I'm DONE cleaning. I'm debating on whether or not to go to the store today or tomorrow for just a few things, but something tells me I should go today....It'd be nice if tomorrow I could just read, bake my pies and cornbread, brine my turkey, and just relax. Did I mention read? I actually didn't read much last night because I noticed an email from a great friend and wanted to respond before Thanksgiving. Anyways, I know with Thanksgiving two days away, some of you get busy cleaning, cooking, family comes in, or you go visit family and friends, so for those of you who celebrate and won't be back until after the holiday, I hope you all have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving and safe travels! And for those of you who will be here....You'll just have to keep putting up with me. haha!
9:55AM Good morning my GR friends! Just finished breakfast with Aeverie. he is watching Lady and the Tramp right now. He is being very good. Plan on reading some more Ashes to Ashes. I also have 2 books arriving today that I am pretty excited about Angelfall and World After. Also coming today are our 2 comforter sets and curtains. One for Kay's room and one for ours. So I am pretty excited about that too. We only have those 2 rooms left to paint as well, not bad after 7 years of living here. LOL
12:22 p.m. EST I had a nosebleed this morning. Prior to this, in my entire life, I have had one nosebleed, and that was after three days in the hospital receiving blood thinners. Weird. Anyway, I had thought I might work ahead and do next week's MS but since I felt so horrible yesterday, I think I'm just going to take it easy the rest of the week.
