Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments 12.21 pm Been at work since before 9am and have achieved zilch! Got to work and the plumbers and builders had arrived to start demolishing our old kitchen as we're having a new bathroom etc built so I had to help my boss move everything out of there... everyone else was curiously absent this morning... hmmm...So then they had to turn the power off so I went and did some running around; when I got back the power was back on but it took me almost an hour to get the server back up and running. Just sat down to finally get some work done then in walks a whole group of people to see my boss and of course I had to make all the coffees because there was no one else here! ***sigh*** Think I might go on my lunch break now lol.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:55 PM. Laying in bed with both cats snuggled up to me because it has gotten chilly and they want to keep warm. Mark is already asleep, so I'm going to lay in bed and read. Dinner was yummy, and I even made brownies. Hoping to get several pages read tonight. :)

message 8016: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:07 AM. Enjoying some coffee this morning and have already eaten some oatmeal. Mark told me last night he has a work thing tonight, so he will be home later than usual. I need to fold a full basket of clean socks, put up the clean dishes, and load the dirty ones, and of course, read. :) I hope everyone has a great day today!

Happy birthday, Victor!

1:43PM Have not gotten here till now. :/ GR has been so slow for me today, I guess maybe an overload of people. Everything else loads fast for me so it is not my internet. I have read almost 50 pages today so far. I guess not too bad. Would love to finish one of these books by the 15th, maybe tomorrow. But I find that to be doubtful.

message 8019: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Janie, I thought it was just me and my internet. GR must be having some issues.

GeneralTHC 5:31 PM... Finally back on the Internet after a week without it. I've been averaging about $50 a month in overages alone--which is ridiculous! Anyways, think I'll try to fix up my GR account a bit; maybe remove the 17 books from my CR I just can't seem to finish, haha!--No--I can't admit defeat! I found a couple of pretty good non-fiction authors that I have really been getting into: Erik Larson and David Roberts. These guys write in such a cool way. I'm totally into what these guys do. They write in such a way as to where you can experience events and things that happened long ago or far away. I just don't know how else to say it. You know in theory how reading books can allow you to experience the inside of people's minds that may have lived long ago or whatever, well these guys totally have it downl in practice. It's just so cool. Anyways, hope everyone is doing great!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:10 PM. We are enjoying a nice fire in our fireplace, and Gizmo has been curled up on my lap most of the evening. Earlier, I folded probably 60-70 pairs of socks. It was a chore I have to be in the mood to do. Lol. Anyways, I got a great workout, then got a shower. Mark had a work thing after actual work, so he said he would be late. I had just sat down to read, read a few pages, and my handsome guy walked in the door with two bouquets of flowers, dinner, ice cream, and saying, "Happy 44 month anniversary!" He is too sweet. :) Mark has been watching tv, which I've kind of been watching as well, and I think I will go get ready for bed and read for a while.

Bunnhi | 3 comments 10:20 PM here. Just finished my homework for the evening, learning about gender role stereotypes this week in psychology. Browsing Goodreads for a bit (was lucky to come across this group!) and now I'm about to clean up my mess, jump in the shower, and then dive into my book for the rest of the evening. :D

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments Awwww Kathryn, Mark sounds so lovely. I'm so happy for you that you are married to such a lovely man :) Your evening in front of the fire sounds divine!

Nhi, so great to have you here. It really is such a wonderful group of people :)

3.55 PM I'm feeling a bit sooky today. I've had a splitting headache since I got out of bed this morning and it doesn't help that my office is the closest to the renovations going on at work at the moment. The banging and crashing is driving me crazy... and they'll be here for two weeks :/ Oh well, another 1.5hrs and I can head home. I think some Thai takeaway is on the menu for dinner tonight!

message 8033: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Thank you, Michelle! I feel blessed to have married such a great man. :)

I hope you feel better! I've had a slight headache since I woke up, so I kind of know how you feel. Maybe try some hot tea, a nice hot bath or shower, and relaxing? Sometimes that helps me. ((((((Hugs)))))

message 8034: by Bunnhi (new)

Bunnhi | 3 comments Thank you Michelle, I can already sense the good vibes coming from this group. :) Thai sounds delicious! Hang in there, I agree with Kathryn, try & relax with a cup of tea when you're relieved from work!

7:57 a.m. EST I really, really wish I could sleep... Heh. I think I might have dozed for a few minutes here and there, but not deeply. Hubby has a double today, so I'll have to wake him up in an hour. Trying to decide what to read next...

7:31AM I did not have a chance to get back on this thread last night. Aeverie keeps me busy. I thought he was gonna be out early last night, um....no I was sorely wrong LOL. So he already woke up this AM as well. So no going back to sleep for another hour like I enjoy doing. So I have breakfast going for the 2 of us. Kay is off to school Randy at work and Derek will be leaving shortly. I wanna get some more reading done this AM. We will see where that goes.

Kathryn happy 44th to you and Mark. He is definitely a keeper and I can see so much love with you guys! It is awesome.

Nhi, nice to have you here among us. We love to see new people join and hang out with us here. So welcome to the group!

Michelle I hope that you re feeling better, even though I am late on that. LOL. I can imagine it would be annoying being next to the renovations.

message 8038: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 9:12 AM. Drinking some coffee with French vanilla creamer to warm up my bones, as they say. I'm going to focus on reading today since the only chore I have to do is put up the dishes and reload the dishwasher, which only takes about 10 minutes. LOL. I also need to workout, but that won't be until this afternoon. I'm thinking of trying to do a Youtube book blog, like Janie, so I might also work on that, as well. I'm really interested to see where my book is going, and I would love to knock out a hundred pages or more today. We'll see how that goes....Somehow I always get distracted by something. Anyways, I hope everyone has a great day! It's Thursday and almost the weekend! I can't wait to get my hair cut on Saturday!

Thank you, Janie! I'm glad people can see that about us, because it's true! :)

Michelle, I hope you're feeling better today!! :)

10:09AM Well I could not trick the kid into a nap LOL It worked once before but well not today! So instead I did a book vlog and it is uploading now and I am reading more of The Twelve. It is getting down to the nitty gritty! Enjoying the book although not as much as I did The Passage. So today taking Aeverie home and then tomorrow taking out Kay and her friend Jamie. So busy busy again.

Kathryn I hope you get you vlog channel going. If you need any help let me know and I will help you on whatever you need.

8:50PM just got home about an hour ago and Kay has some kind of Teenage attitude going on tonight good grief! She needs to put it back into its proper place is all I'm gonna say. So I plan to read tonight as soon as I can figure out which one to go with.
