Kathryn wrote: "Susan, I haven't read anything else of DuMaurier's, but I have wanted to. Maybe one day. I'm halfway done with it, and so far, I like it. I would rate it about a four out of five as of right now."
It does pick up. I hope you like the second half better.
Good morning, Janie! This weather is making me want to stay in bed, but I love that it feels like a real fall here! Makes for great coffee weather!
I remember loving DuMaurier's stuff so much and for a time I picked up and read every gothic book I could put my hands on. Then I realized most of them were formulaic and stopped. Still, I remember that phase, I think it was in junior high and early high school.9:16 a.m. EDT Had a fairly decent nap, even if my last dream involved giant venomous snakes trying to kill me, which is so weird 'cause normally I quite like and admire venomous snakes and have no trouble dealing with them. But these, it turned out, were being directed by a person with ill intents and weren't really snakes, but created creatures. And when I say giant, I mean like the largest anaconda you ever saw tripled. HUGE. The first few were rattlesnakes, the last was a cobra. The thing is it started innocently enough but I guess when I was late bringing the girls back to the client he became angry... I love dream logic. Anyway, will have to wake up hubby at 10 and meanwhile once I clear e-mail it's back to editing.
It's 9:06 and I woke up almost an hour ago from an all night sleep where I actually feel asleep before midnight. Which surprises me because I have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. Dreams usually wake me up. It might be because I was so stressed out yesterday due to an important interview at the LIBRARY! How awesome would it be for a bookworm to work at the library? Of course I picked apart everything I did in the interview. I wore nude peep toe platform patent leather 4" heels, turquoise jeans and a cream sweater with a turquoise, black and white bird on the front. I'm hoping it wasn't either not dressy enough regarding clothing and to much regarding heels. Plus is actually said I was a clothes whore! Why did I say that?!?! Hopefully it went unnoticed. Otherwise I was definitely over qualified as far as work history went. They told me it would take a couple weeks to hear from them. Please pray I got the job for me. I want it so bad. It's only part time but hopefully I can get my foot in the door to become a full time librarian. I am worried about my background check. I do have a couple misdemeanor convictions. I told them about them on my application. So now I'm trying to choose between two books to read. Either finish the fifth installment of The Wheel Of Time series, The Fires Of Heaven. Or should I start Doctor Sleep which is by my favorite author and about my favorite kind of characters to read about, VAMPIRES! So wish me luck with the interview and I think I can figure out which book to read.
Stayflygemini, I also tend to have trouble sleeping when I "should". My schedule is still screwed up, normally I like to sleep after 4 a.m. and in the early evening, but lately I've been going to sleep around midnight. And good luck! I worked in a library for awhile i work-study at university, but the dust kicked up my asthma, so I had to find something else. But it was awesome while it lasted!9:48 a.m. EDT Have some laughs with some friends of mine on Facebook. Almost done with e-mail and then ... editing!
Appreciate the well-wishes, all!Janie wrote: "You think it could have started from a hangnail?"
You know, that's exactly what it felt like at first, just a little sore around the nail, but it worked its way up to my 1st knuckle on the padded side of my finger in like 1 night ... really, really painful. Can't wait to get over this.
It got me thinking: I don't know how anyone could resist torture. I swear I would tell all I knew if someone started mashing my finger, lol. I don't even know how people think they could resist torture. Maybe for a few minutes if you are extremely psyched .... maybe ... I don't know, though, haha.

It happens to the best of us. Are you not liking the Hamilton book?
9:41AM HA I tricked Aves into a nap! LOL I snuck into bed and laid down and Aves came in shortly thereafter. We played with his stuffed toys for a little bit, but soon it got the better of him and now he is sleeping! YAY! So now I will read.
Good morning to you as well Kathryn, you know I never even made any coffee today. I think we only have coffee for this evening. Randy and I like to have some around 7. We need to go get some tomorrow. Now that you mentioned it, I might wanna go check and see if there is enough for me to have a couple of cups!
Chuck I know I could not resist torture either. I figure talk, talk, someone will end up killing you anyway so what does it matter. Hehe.

Sounds delicious! :)
Right now it's 11:10, I'm kinda feeling like I want some breakfast. Waiting for kiddo to get up, then I can get ready to go to the post office and little store. Gotta grab some bread and stuff. Nothing too exciting today I don't think. Looking to get some more reading done.
Oh, and yea, I'd definitely crumple under torture, I'd prolly talk before they ever hurt me, lol. I don't do well with pain, specially not in my hands or feet. :\
10:40 a.m. Trying to catch up on everything since I have a few days off. It's turning out to be a very daunting task.
Took Sean to lunch before a late start at school he had today. Back to Rebecca. I just want to smack the maid!
3:25pm EDT. Been alternating between watching Ghost Hunters DVDs and reading A Monster Calls, which is proving disappointing. The pain really sucks today and has been getting worse than ever the past few weeks.
2:52PM Randy just got home bringing in my HOL! YAY And along with that a radio controlled helicopter. Ave's is besides himself with excitement. Been reading Caught by Harlan Coben, and it is a great story so far. So I will finish probably tomorrow if Ave's let me read.
21:17pm just got back from probably the worst blind date of my life haha not dating again for a while. getting into my bed to read for an hour or two now
4:25 p.m. and I have to leave out to do a lot of errands. Won't get home until around 10, so probably no reading today. I'm exhausted! Maybe I'll sleep really good tonight after all the running.
Jordan wrote: "21:17pm just got back from probably the worst blind date of my life haha not dating again for a while. getting into my bed to read for an hour or two now"Sorry to hear you had a bad blind date. I don't miss being single at all. Hope you can recover with a good book. Have a good evening.
3:45PM have about 45 min left of my shift today then off to the store. Making homemade baked potato soup tonight. Can't wait to get home. Watching the Cardinals game to help pass the time.
5:04 p.m. EDT the maintenance guy came 'round and fiddled with our heater, now it's boiling in here. I dunno how I would do with torture. I've spent so long having such high levels of pain... I have no idea if I could stand more, or if I would be like "umm, no, I'll talk..."

I doubt anything but actual torture could even begin to prepare someone for torture.
7:40pm ET. Updating my CPR certification online... really?? You watch 10,000 hours of the videos online, take the test... and THEN you go in and get assessed at work. UGH.
Kathryn wrote: "5:24 PM. MY RUN GOT INTERRUPTED BU A PHONE CALL FOR AN INTERVIEW TOMORROW!!!!!!!"Awesome!! Good luck! :D
8:50 p.m just got done doing the dishes, popping in real quick, then going to go wash my hair.
Glad to hear everything sounds like it will be okay with your boyfriend Heather, that must have been scary.Yay! Good luck Kathryn I hope it goes really well, I'll have my fingers crossed for you! :D
12.55pm About to go for a walk during my lunch break, will be nice to stretch my legs and get some sunshine.
9:32PM Decided on Sausage gravy & biscuits with hash browns for dinner. I should know better than to eat pork sausage rather than turkey sausage. UGH! We went and did a run for our coffee, then took Aves to the park, then came back home and played with the helicopter, by that time I felt better! YAY! Then put the kid in the tub LOL after that we watched Beetlejuice. I have not seen that movie is so long! Aves seemed to like it. Then I did a short workout and got a shower. Kay is entertaining Aves and I am here posting to y'all! Gonna try and read. maybe he will fall asleep with Kay. :::fingers crossed:::
Jordan sorry about the awful blind date! Maybe your next one will be better.
Kathryn yay! Gratz on the interview! Keep us posted!

10:50 PM. Dinner was super yummy! Mark has been watching movies and I picked out my clothes for tomorrow's interview. The kitties are happy, and I'm about to do some reading.Thank you everyone for the good luck wishes!!! You all make me smile. :)
Good luck, Kathryn.Janie, I love biscuits and gravy. Mmmm
1:52 a.m. EDT Had a bit of a nap. Dmitry only just made it home about a half-hour ago... He went over to one of his coworker's place after work. Goofball.
Kathryn wrote: "5:24 PM. MY RUN GOT INTERRUPTED BU A PHONE CALL FOR AN INTERVIEW TOMORROW!!!!!!!"I'm so excited for you. All the luck to you. Your going to do great!! Fingers crossed.
7:20AM Randy is gonna drive Kay to school this morning. She has to take soda and candy to the school for the fall festival, so they are gonna do that this AM rather than Kay trying to tote it on the bus, and Randy is off Thursdays and Fridays. So it works out. Today we are taking Ave's home. And then we have to do the food shopping thing. UGH But it is ok we don't need too much. Pretty much just the staples. Gonna try and finish Caught today! About to enjoy my first cup o coffee! YUM! What a great way to start the day! We will see. Good morning GR!
8:54AM Working today but I get to leave early so I can go with my Dad to a leadership event with his work. These events are usually a lot of fun mainly because it is nice to spend time with my Dad. Kathryn good luck on your interview. I am so happy for you, I really hope you get this. I know you have said you are going nuts being at home. Hope I'm not to late to wish you luck.
Janie, the biscuits and gravy sounds amazing right now. Hope your dinner was as delicious as it sounds.
10:28 a.m. EDT I so did not want to wake up this morning and kept trying to go back to sleep but alas... I have to figure out what to read next now...
9:58AM Have been enjoying the morning. Ave's has been so good. He had his breakfast, and is watching a movie. He slept past 8:00 YAY! We will be taking him home within the hour. I have been reading and will finish Caught soon. Then I will work on getting through The Vanishing and finish that up probably tomorrow. Then I need to finish Still life With Crows and also start House of leaves, excited about that one.
Chris is was sooooo good, and we have not had it in forever, but it sure did not agree with me afterwards. We made a mistake and switched back to pork sausage instead of Turkey sausage because they did not have it. Won't make that mistake again. :/

12:51 p.m. EDT Was apparently a short school day today, the school bus is just out dropping off the neighbor's kid. Anyway, just popped in to update my status and pay my Internet bill.
2:10PM Just got back from Taking Ave's home. Visited with Amy for a little bit. Just finished Caught. I am beginning to think that Coben is in a league of his own when it comes to mystery! I am really enjoying his stuff A LOT!
2:18 PM. My interview went really well I think. He said he really liked me, so we will see. I will find out tomorrow. :)
Kathryn wrote: "2:18 PM. My interview went really well I think. He said he really liked me, so we will see. I will find out tomorrow. :)"Wow that's fast Kathryn. I hope you get the job. Is this a job you think you would like or be able to tolerate? Good luck Kathryn, sending good thoughts your way.
Hope you get the job Kathryn. Always good to hear that they like you. Glad it went well for you!
Katy wrote: "3:16 p.m. EDT Thinking about ordering a pizza. It sounds like a good idea, anyway... :-)"That all ways sounds like a good idea to me. :)
@ 3:53 PM. Hell, I'm not even sure what I'm doing, but those antibiotics worked great, BTW! It's amazing!
4:45PM Just had a salad for dinner, I always love a good salad! heh! Almost finished with The Vanishing! One of the oddest books I have ever read!
Pizza does sound really good!
Chuck glad the antibiotics worked out for you! That's awesome!

I'm halfway done with it, and so far, I like it. I would rate it about a four out of five as of right now.
