What time is it and what are you doing?
8:45AM Just had breakfast, will be leaving soon to take Ave's home and grab a birthday gift for our great niece who just turned sweet 16. Gonna get her a book case. She was with us last week and said she did not have any more room for the books she was gonna buy. LOL So that gave us a little hint as to what to get her for her birthday. Gonna try and read to 400 sometime today in Doctor Sleep. Enjoying the story just expected differently.
10:14 a.m. EDT Spent the night alternately sleeping and not sleeping... Heh. Managed some dreams, so that tells me at least I had a couple decent bouts. This new book I'm reading is describing the Cairngorms in Scotland, and it sounds just beautiful.
10:41 a.m. Having some coffee and getting a few things done before I go to work. Don't really feel like it today, but oh well.
Holly wrote: "10:41 a.m. Having some coffee and getting a few things done before I go to work. Don't really feel like it today, but oh well."I never feel like going into work. I hope you have a better day though. Sending smiles your way.
10:57AM I haven't felt like being social much this week. Nothing is wrong other than the normal stress. Just haven't felt talkative. I'm getting out of that funk I guess. Working today but have tomorrow off. Finished The October List this week and it was amazing. One of the best books I have ever read. Hope everyone is doing well. I am behind on how everyone is.
12:31pm EDT. Thanks for all the good wishes everyone, it means a lot to me! Getting stronger every day and getting back into reading and my other normal routines. It feels good! We've been having beautiful fall weather--cool nights and warm sunny days, just gorgeous, at least from the inside. Plan on just reading for the rest of the afternoon, ordering food in for dinner so I don't have to cook yet. Thanks for the reading suggestions Chris and Rachel! I like Sarah Addison Allen, and The October List sounds good, I just ordered it from the library. Have a great day everyone!
12:58 p.m. EDT I feel really tired, despite probably ending up with close to 8 hours of sleep last night. Have to stay awake a while longer, though, to wake hubby up for work. It's a bright day outside and I heard a huge variety of birds calling. Pretty cool.
6.20 pm - off to relax in the bath with my book. Then I am going to have an early night I think, night everyone x
1:40 p.m just checking in. Stayed up til 4 a.m messing around online, so got up late (11:30! Eek), though amazingly little guy slept in too, so that was good. Will try to get to bed earlier tonight for sure. Don't really have any plans for the day, except for trying to get some reading accomplished. Would like to get outside and do something at some point, maybe pick up around the yard and stuff if I get motivated.
4:24 p.m. EDT Tried to take a nap but once I laid down I wasn't able to fall asleep. I hate when that happens... LOL At least I have a pretty cool book to read.
4:17PM Just got home, but plan on taking our niece out for her birthday! Wanted to do something for her so this will work better. So now just waiting for Derek to get home so we can go.
7:10pm ET. Home late from work; but it is my Friday today. Cydney will be here tomorrow from Auburn for Brians Homecoming game; and half the family. This will be a long, but fun weekend. Lots of good reading, family time and good food.. :D
Kathryn wrote: "Alondra, sounds like you have a great weekend ahead of you. Hope Brian wins his game!"Thanx, Kathryn! It will wear me out, but will be a bunch of fun. I hope his team wins, but they did horribly last week, they have no passing game and the next team does... as long as they don't blow us out. Brian will be upset if they lose... :O
9:40 PM. Project Runway is over until next Thursday, so now I'm sad. :( haha! I noticed I didn't post in here today, but I have been busy job hunting, and for the past few hours I've been trying to get over my headache. My workout made it worse....:/, but the Aleve I took is finally working. That's the last time I miss my coffee in the morning!! Gizmo kitty girl is curled up on my lap, so since Mark is watching tv, I think I will read. I actually haven't read in a few days, even though I've tried to. It's not that Doctor Sleep is bad, I've just been distracted. Hope everyone is having a lovely evening or morning. :)
9:44PM Had a nice time out with niece. We got her her book case, Derek got her the new Grand Theft Auto. She loved them both Took her to the Chinese buffet. Then I cam home and did a 9 min mission. LOL Now I am gonna read in the library since hub is in here watching videos on you tube.
Alondra hope you have a great weekend!
Alondra hope you have a great weekend!
9:46 PM I just got oit of HPB! I will post all the books I got later:) Is everyone excited for the weekend?
Yes Victor, very excited for the weekend!!! Bring on 5.30pm (it's only 2.15pm)!Glad you had a nice time with your family Janie, sounds like your niece had a great birthday.
Kathryn, hope your headache eases up - hope you have a relaxing evening reading and cuddling up with your Gizmo girl!
Alondra, have a fabulous weekend, hope Brian's team wins!!
its 9.33 am here in India, i am in my office and my manger is on leave :).
It's 6:00 am. Hubby is up early to go to a golf tourney. I had a migraine for two days. "Oh my Gosh"!....., I wanted someone to put me out if my misery. I maybe get one every 3 years or so. Not fun, especially since Moms still have to function. I did spend most of yesterday morning in the dark. I think that helped. I feel like Superman with just a little headache hangover this morning. You don't know how good you can feel until you feel that bad! Missed my reading✔
7:15AM Kay just left for school. Hub and Son still sleeping. I am savoring the peace and quiet right now with a cup of coffee and soon my book. First checking in here at GR. Went to bed very early last night so I did not read much. I want to finish Doctor Sleep by tomorrow. Would be great to finish tonight. We will see. Less than 200 pages to go. So it is very doable.

All on 1 screen, 1 show... this will be fun... :D"I finally got to watch the first episode. Awsome!! Should be great thus year. Maybe we can do a buddy watch?:)
Oh, Susan, migraines are the pits. Glad you're feeling better.9:32 a.m. EDT I have no idea where the time is going lately. It's just flying by. It feels like it was last Sunday just yesterday. And wasn't it just May? Now October is almost half over. This is crazy. Anyway, Bellman & Black is an amazing story that I recommend all of y'all read once it's available. It's really a beautifully written book.

thanx for the kudos; i hope his team wins... :)
8:52 AM. GOOD MORNING, GR!! GOOD MORNING, CHEATER-PEEKER!! (Inside joke...she knows who I'm talking about..lol) I read a few pages of Doctor Sleep last night, and I'm looking forward to getting back to it. Things are really starting to pick up in it. Not that I wasn't finding it interesting. I WILL NOT MISS MY COFFEE THIS MORNING!! Haha! I learned my lesson yesterday. I am happy it is Friday! I'm going to make my yummy oatmeal and coffee, then spend my time reading. Thank you, Michelle! Miss you! :)
Keeping my fingers crossed for Janie's book arriving today! :)
Good morning! It is roughly 10:23 a.m and I'm getting ready for a busy day of Friday errands to run. Gotta go pay car insurance and electric and mail out some books for PBSwap and stop by the store to get a card for babe's niece who had her baby last night/wee hours of this morning. Prolly gonna hook her up with a Babies-R-Us card too, I have no idea what she needs for him, so gift card will do fine. Still gotta brush my hair and all that, so I should probably jump offline here... in a minute. :)
10:31 a.m. EDT Almost through all the huge volume of e-mail that came in since yesterday evening... o.O
11:10AM Just got back home. We had to make a run real quick to the bank and my sweet hub took us to the UBS. I did get some books off the sales rack. So I am a happy camper.
Kathryn thanks for the well wishes for my book to arrive. I am sure that helps a ton! It should be here today. :::still crossing fingers though:::
Kit gratz on the arrival on the baby! How awesome is that! I have a friend whose daughter is due in 8 days. the excitement is mounting!

18:56 I'm just trying to work out how you calculate percentage, since I want to put the percentage of one of the books I've read but don't know how. -_-

Thanx Katy. It was a rough one. I hope you have a good weekend and get some sleep. Have you tried Excedrin PM. Hubby uses it sometimes. I will look at Bellman and Black.

Janie, are you sure a neighbor does not have it? Hehe. Maybe, as it says on the first page. "This is not for you"......
Hope it comes today! :)

Hi Jessica, it depends on which edition of the book you are trying to report your progress. i.e., Hardback, paperback, Audible? When you choose the correct edition you have, it will have the right amount of pages for your edition or if an audible, percentages are decided by hours listened. Hope this helps.
Ye, that's what I usually do but since the book I'm reading is one an author has requested I review it doesn't have the page count or anything because it's a new book. I've just had to work it out in my head at the moment. But thanks for the info!
2:53pm ET. Had a great book-shopping expedition with my daughter, a lovely lunch at an outdoor cafe with Yellow Jackets attacking, and now enjoying my purchases with a little chocolate... :D

You are so rotten.... and I have not done that in over a week or two.. :O
2:24AM So my other book HOL still has not come but it does have a ridiculous estimated delivery date clear till the 28th. They sure do know how to cover their a$$ when it comes to deliveries. I have never had one take longer than a week to arrive. I placed the order October 3.
Oh, glad you're enjoying it, Kerstin!5:42 p.m. EDT Well, The Actuator: Fractured Earth really couldn't have been more different from Bellman & Black, but it was good, too. I have just three outstanding reviews for NetGalley now, two are for blog tours, so I'll hold off on those and read the final one now. It'll be nice to be caught up over there!
10:20PM We had stuffed bell peppers for dinner, then Hub, Kay and I took a walk. The weather has been so pleasant so it was nice. Was different walking and not having Aves though. Been reading Still Life With Crows and also checking in here (probably too much)LOL.
12:34 AM. Just brushed and flossed my teeth, and now I'm in bed. I'm going to read a bit, even though Mark is already pretty much asleep. Tonight we had a yummy vegetable lasagna, we watched one movie together, then he watched World War Z by himself. I ended up being on GR the whole time just doing what we all do on GR when we lose track of time. Haha! I'm not sure what is in store for tomorrow, but I hope I get some reading in. Hope everyone is well! Gizmo is in her spot snuggled up next to me, so I guess she was ready to go to bed, too. :)
1:00AM I should hit the hay. Got 50 pages read in Still Life with Crows after I read 200 pages today of Doctor Sleep to finish it up. So overall I had a great reading day and look forward to more for tomorrow! Good night GR! Sleep tight everyone!

For those who have read Drawing of the Three you may get a chuckle out of this... my husband is reading it with me and he told me he was up to the part about 'The Woman in the Dark' and I said 'do you mean Lady of the Shadows?' hahaha!
