10:20 had breakfast, eggs and toast this AM. I was debating on whether or not make coffee and I decided against it for this AM. So I have been catching up here. I hope that everyone votes for their choice of book for our Halloween reads.

Michelle glad you get some time back here with us. How exciting you are gonna start the Dark Tower series. YAY! I just read it at the beginning of the year! Enjoy the journey.

Cindy, so glad you are getting some reading time! Enjoy it while you have it.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 345 comments 12:27 p.m sitting at my step-dad's mooching the wi-fi while babe helps him and another buddy try to haul this humongous oak tree they cut down up the hill and to the woodpile. This tree is seriously huge, like wow. I dunno how they even cut it down. Now they've got a big industrial bulldozer trying to pull it out.
Yesterday was good, my mum took the kid all day and overnight, so we went for a 4 mile hike on a piece of the Buckeye Trail, through some lovely woods, lots of big trees and big rocks, couple pretty little streams. Fun! Then we grabbed a late lunch and went to his brother's house for a bit, then out for a couple drinks, stopped at Wal-Mart and bought a couple new movies to watch. Got The Hobbit! Yay! Also got a scary one called The Apparition, and a comedy Date Night with Tina Fey. Watched that one last night when we got home, it was pretty funny. Now I'm dying to watch The Hobbit though!
Gotta go pick up kiddo in a little bit. I'm hungry, hope we are going to eat something soon!
Oh, and I love Aldi's too! Can't beat their prices. Just the other day I wanted some kiwi for little man. Wal-Mart wanted $2.39 for one kiwi! Got a pack of three at Aldi's for .99 cents. And their cereal and stuff, tastes better than the store brands from Wal-Mart or wherever, and is cheaper. Love it! :D

11:17AM Just found out from Hub that we need to go pick Aves up today, since someone hit his daddy and totaled the car. There is always something going on over there, they just need to catch a break. Cort does have his eye on another car though that he hopes to get next Monday. So that is good.

Kit we generally as a rule get most dry goods from like Walmart and then all the other stuff we need we get at Aldi's we only just got our first Aldi's in Texas last year. And then the one that we shop at in Denton just opened this year. So it has been nice. They have great prices and I love it.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 1:48 PM. Good Sunday afternoon, my lovely GR friends! I've already done the grocery shopping, and got our Sunday dinner in the crockpot: beef short ribs with red wine and mushrooms. It smells so good already, and there are still four hours of cooking to go. I need a snack! Haha! Since everything is done, I'm going to read. I'm determined to get Apt Pupil finished today. My mind keeps thinking about whether or not I got the job, and it has been occupying my thoughts since Friday afternoon, so I could really use the distraction. Dad will be coming over for dinner later, and since the boy is watching football, I think I should go sit in my reading chair with my Gizbaby. :)

I did some chores this morning now I'm relaxing on the couch with my laptop catching up on GR. I hope you all on the other side of the world are having a great Monday, and for my GR friends on my side, I hope you all have a great night's sleep. :)

Thank you, Victor and Michelle! I hope so, too! :)

I know how you feel, my boy loves that DVD. I don't mind it because it is one of the only things he will sit and watch all the way through. That's a half hour to catch up on dishes or nap ;-)

9:04AM Working today early. Thankfully the city's water main is fixed and the boil order has finally been lifted. I have a ton of dishes to do. Baby bottles and all. So tired of boiling everything. Hope everyone has a good day.

9:20AM Wow Aves was up with me this AM at 6:30 and he is not in a very good mood so far. Right now he settled down a bit and is watching some TV. Pretty sure this girl won't get much reading time in. I feeling much better now and not so much like it's a chore to read. I was getting really stressed out over something that should be enjoyable. I am back to happy now and just about caught up. Oh, and by the way, a friend brought in Petals on the Wind at work. She bought it for me at a UBS. Now I own it and can read it when I get ready.

Thanks! Looks like I have several pages of comments to read, so let me just post a quite update...

9:32 p.m. EDT I arrived home about 2 p.m. today after 5 days plus one hour inpatient, during which time (due to my colitis) I lost 5 pounds because I couldn't eat... *sigh* Met some really cool people, some people for whom I felt deeply sympathetic, and a charming young schizo man talking to the voices in his head... Apparently some of my "village" was secretly following me around and hiding when I would spin, and one was hanging above me telling me about the glories of pie. I know some funny, funny people... LOL My eyes have not been working properly since Thursday, apparently this is a common side effect of the lack of opiates in my system and will clear up eventually. The sooner the better. I spent a lot of time over the weekend (starting Friday evening) watching television, as there wasn't much else to do. I particularly enjoyed the USA Network, and the TV show NCIS, to which I gave the subtitle: "Kicking down the door and shooting up the bad guys". The acting is just so BAD on most of the shows on that network... it's hilarious! I also almost dislocated my eyeballs rolling them at commercials, and at the Lifetime movies that one of the ladies insisted we watch on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon. I did a lot of heckling, and at one point dove across the back of a couch to some guys behind me saying, "Oh my god, estrogen overdose, someone SAVE ME" startling them badly... LOL Sorry, I'm just such a GUY, you know? I noticed myself even sitting like one over the weekend... Anyway, I'm very happy to be back home with my cats and my little baby spiders everywhere, although not so happy to be reminded how badly it stinks in this little place when my husband hasn't opened any windows for the past 5 days... I hope everyone has been well. I might not respond to all messages, but I'll try to skim through them all...

The trouble with mental health services is the drugs that they feed you make it impossible to read a book. So I think you will be better off trying to get some sleep!"

Yes, this is very true. Either they make you so groggy and foggy that you can't focus, or they make your eyes not work properly... Plus asylums aren't nearly as much fun as movies make them seem... Although we had some fun with Hardcore Pawn on Sunday night, where a customer sat on the floor, starting screaming, then rolled himself up in their rug. It made us all laugh our asses off and say, "We may be crazy, but we ain't that crazy!"

Kathryn wrote: "11:28 AM. Enjoying some coffee and about to read. I've been reflecting and looking at the 9/11 memorial and remembrances on TV. I was 16 at the time, and it had a profound affect on me, like many I..."

Oh, Gods and Goddess I am SO OLD... I was 31 at the time... O.o You know, there were only two or three people inpatient at the same time with me who were older than me? Ai yi yi... I guess most of us get this out of our systems at a younger age?

Janie, great new picture! We just had an Aldi's open up here, I'll see if hubs will go check it out. He likes to shop in the middle of the night though, so if it isn't open 24 hours, the odds are low.

Sean, I LOVE Star Trek in all its various permutations, except for Enterprise, although my husband tells me I have misjudged it... So I might break down and watch it eventually. I'm particularly fond of the originals, the movies for the originals, and DS9...

Thanks, Cindy. I'm glad to hear you are feeling better.

10:02 p.m. Well, obviously I didn't do much reading after I was checked in. I read a lot of Salvation while waiting, but they wouldn't let me have my Nook or Kindle inside so I had Dmitry grab four random books from the back of the car. Unfortunately two of those random books I'd already read and a third was somewhere in the middle of the Odd series by Dean Koontz; that left me with the 4th book, Pattern Crimes, but of course I didn't manage much reading because my eyes wouldn't focus. Anyway, I met another bookworm in there to whom I gave the two duplicate books, since her parents had only brought her a single book. I also found out my triglycerides are severely high, so I will need to be a bit more active. *sigh* I LIKE being lazy!! LOL

Right, I need to continue in my process of clearing out e-mail now...

message 6639: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Thanks, Michelle. This happened last time I precipitously lost weight, too. And I agree, it is a type of torture. I'm so cold this morning, too, because the temps dropped last night. Soon as the sun is up I'm going to go out and find a patch of sun out of the wind in which to sit and warm back up. I think the nausea I've been having the past few days might be from nothing more than dehydration, so I'm sipping on water as much as I can stand it...

8:04 a.m. EDT Despite doping myself up good at about 2 this morning, I couldn't fall asleep until Dmitry came in and rubbed my back for me. I woke up just a few hours later and I can't go back to sleep because I'm so cold. I'm still groggy, I simply cannot sleep. *sigh*

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:20 AM. Drinking coffee and thinking positive thoughts. I'm going to focus my attention on reading today.

Well, the HR department called me yesterday and didn't actually come out and say I didn't get the job. They basically said something slightly insulting by wondering if I'd be interested in a part-time receptionist job. WTF?! Mark is pretty pissed off they would do that, and he feels the only reason why I didn't get the job is because I'm his wife and the office I would have had is down the hall from him. He thinks they are just too lazy to figure out a spot to move that office. So....back to square one. :'(
