7:56 PM. I just got home a few minutes ago from walking 2.5 miles with a friend at this nature trail. It was a lot of fun! My friend's son's birthday party was fun, but we left before they opened presents because it was really crowded at her house. On our way home, we found a Goodwill, and I bought this neat book of old nursery rhymes like Hansel and Gretel, and it has a few illustrations. We came home and rested for a bit, then I did my walk. We're ordering pizza for dinner, and I'd really like to read more tonight. I have a feeling some stuff is about to start happening in AGOT.....

10:26 p.m. EDT Just finished a really crazy weird book. Now I think I'll focus the next few days on finishing my A-Z challenge FINALLY, just Q, X, and Y to go, but have been stuck there for several months!
10:12PM Work out was awesome per normal. I love feeling so good afterwards. Yay just watched my boys win. The defense looks great, the front line looks a little better but still not what they could be, it gets annoying. Now gonna read more. Would not mind finishing Overrun tonight.
Kathryn glad you enjoyed your nature trail walk! That is always fun!

Thanks, Janie! I actually thought of you when I was out there. It made 2.5 miles seem less because it was enjoyable. I know what you mean about how good it feels to have a workout done. There really is no greater feeling. Great job, Janie! :)
11:31 p.m. EDT Realized that my cat annoyed me off the computer before I managed to activate my replacement card, so hopped back on to do that. This book ... *huge sigh* Needs a lot of editing. But otherwise seems to be a decent story as long as I make myself hear my mother-in-law's voice talking (since the speech pattern sounds like a Russian accent to me, even though it's set in Washington state...).
Thanks Kathryn. I am hoping I dropped some more weight. It has been going well. Appr. 2 - 3 pounds a week. I can deal with that.
11:52pm Updating my ridiculously long reading list. Reviewing the books I've just read, adding books I'm reading currently, and books I will be reading shortly.
That's a very healthy weight-loss pace. If you lose too much too soon that's not a good sign; if you lose it gradually, then you're more likely to keep it off. I once lost 10 lbs in a single week after a bout of colitis. It was much worse than this bout I'm currently going through, of course.11:54 p.m. EDT Was just browsing around looking for fun gifs for a post to wish a friend happy birthday tomorrow... :-)
6.35pm Went to visit my mum this weekend, had a great time - one of the best times we've had together in a long time :)Excited because I just got a new laptop! Yay! Just realised how many ebooks I have. Does anyone have any suggestions for how best to organise them on my pc??
10:44am just about to go shopping for my mom then I'll try and get some reading done before my cousins get here and I'll be looking after them
9:03AM Another hot & muggy morning here. Just had a banana for breakfast. Plan on digging in some more and finishing Overrun. It has been fun reading it.
Michelle how awesome you got a new laptop! YAY! I have quite a few ebooks myself on my puter but I have not really organized them, they are kinda just there. LOL

hehe yep Janie it really is awesome because it hopefully means that I will now have more time for GR!! YAY!!I'm testing out Calibre so please anyone that has ANY advice, not necessarily on Calibre but just on cataloging eBooks in general, I'd really love to know! I love things to be organised and there just has to be a way to do it... ultimately I'd love to have an organised system on my pc that I can sync with my Kindle... dreams are free!!
12:38 p.m sitting on the back porch relaxing. Going to go to my mum's in a few hours. Til then I'm doing a whole lotta nothing. :)
12:47 p.m. and I have a lot to do today, BUT I'm feeling good physically and think I can manage to make it happen. Need to wash clothes, clean my house a bit, and do some reading.
Michelle - gonna ask a stupid question here. What is Calibre?

12:17 PM. Mark and I got up super early, got coffee and donuts, and headed out to kayak. I actually read a bit on the water because this is only a kayaking and canoeing lake. It's getting really sunny out, which we don't do well in, so we are getting ready to head back. Mark is fishing a little off the dock, while I catch up on GR and maybe read a bit more.
12:18PM So glad to see so many people posting today. Katy I am glad you seem to be doing better today, but I hope your bout ends soon. That must be miserable.
Janie, so glad you enjoyed your work out and loosing that much weight, good for you. That's awesome.
Kathryn it sounds like you hike was a lot of fun. I love nature walks or sitting out side reading as long as it's not to hot. Right now, it is way to hot for me even for Missouri
Michelle getting new toys is always fun. I must admit that my iPad has pretty much replaced my laptop. Best purchase I ever made.
Jordan good luck with your cousins, I know my little cousins can be a handful.
Kit, doing nothing sounds awesome. Enjoy it.
Cindy I too have laundry to do when I get home so I know how you feel.
Ok I think I got everyone. If I missed your post I'm truly sorry. I'm working today which always sucks, but at least I have tomorrow off and possibly a trip to the library tomorrow with the kids.
12:27PM Hub got to come early today and is still getting paid his whole shift. Just finished with coffee, had my lunch, a salad with crackers and hummus. Now getting ready for a 9 min mission work out. I love these. Then will get back to The Stand.
Chris, nice to see a post from you. Try and have decent day at work. What a great trip to look forward to tomorrow!

Thanks Janie, tomorrow we have a lot of stuff to do but if my son can be good we are going to take him to the library. He loves it there and he picks out all the superhero books. We try to go to the library once a week or so. Enjoy your work out, and I hope you are enjoying the Stand. I haven't read that one. The page count is so daunting that I keep putting it off.
7.06pm Just put my little man to bed (he's only 1) and gonna curl up on the sofa, listen to the radio and read Zom-B :)
Michelle, I organize folders, starting with general topics )novels, non-fiction, encyclopedias) then to actual topics (science, science-fiction, fantasy, occult, religious studies, etc.) and then by author if I have multiple books by the same author under a big ol' heading of "e-books". I also have epubs, PDFs and Kindle formats in separate groupings. I hope that'll help!3:38 p.m. EDT Managed to eat a small serving of my shrimp-fried rice last night and so far, so good, but things work slowly for me, so ... I'll see. We're discussing going to Olive Garden since they have the never-ending pasta bowl. I figure I'll eat the salad; I like Olive Garden's salad. This book I'm reading is making more than a bit crazy and I think I'll take the rest of this author's books off my "to review" list unless I received them specifically to review (a couple I picked up myself 'cause they sounded like books I'd enjoy) because honestly, the review isn't going to be so good... *sigh* I just hate that, 'cause I really like the lady, but ... that's life. Hope everyone is having a good Sunday!
3:17 PM. We are home with the kitty girls. They're mad we left. Go figure. We stopped to pick up a frozen lasagna for dinner, and my dad is coming over with salad in a bit. Enjoying the air conditioning for sure! I think I'm going to take a nice cool shower to get the sunscreen off, and read until my dad gets here. Chris, glad to see you post! I hope your day goes smoothly and quickly! Also, I hope you have a great day off with your family. I love going to the library.
Janie, thought I'd comment here. :) When is the next Thursday or Friday you are going to go up to the bookstore? We will definitely meet! I hope soon! :)
Katy, I hope you feel better. Have you ever tried sipping some hot chicken bullion? Whenever I get migraines and get nauseated, it really helps my stomach get back to normalcy. Just an idea! It's only three dollars or so for a jar, and it doesn't take much to make a cup full.
4:35 p.m. and I just spent three hours at the laundry doing clothes. Stopped by the store to get a few things on the way home and was preparing myself to start cleaning house, BUT Jeff had already done most of the cleaning when I got home. What a stress relief! Now I'm just gonna read for a while.
Cindy wrote: "4:35 p.m. and I just spent three hours at the laundry doing clothes. Hey, Kathryn. The only nausea I've had was just due to my pain levels. With colitis the colon basically goes into horrible spasms and eating, which causes a reaction, just makes things worse. Thus my attempts at sticking with a mostly liquid diet yesterday. I'm going to try eating some Olive Garden salad today and see how it goes... :-) But we usually keep some bouillon around for these sorts of situations, so I'll definitely remember that next time I have some nausea! Thanks for the tip. I used to like to drink Squirt, but it's a bit hard to find nowadays :-)4:36 p.m. EDT We're just clearing a few things up before we go and letting the dog eat. Hope to be off to Olive Garden soon!
Keeping my fingers crossed that Olive Garden is a pleasant experience for you tonight Katy! Have fun and enjoy.
Thanks, Cindy. I put down one of their bowls of salad (minus the pepperocinis, olives and tomatoes) and so far so good :-)7:30 p.m. Just decided to clear out e-mail again before I finish this book. No, I'm not deliberately avoiding forcing myself to ... okay, yes, I'm deliberately avoiding finishing it as long as possible because despite a good plot, the editing is making me repeatedly facepalm and re-read sections over and over to try to figure out what she's trying to say. I really dread writing this review, 'cause I like this author, but this book is just... *facepalm*
8:10 p.m. and we just put in the movie Freedom Writers. Don't know if it is any good or not, but the description caught my eye.
7:08PM Had dinner, and work out, now enjoying some coffee and chatting with hubby. Got a message from Mr. Brian Clopper about the release of book 2 of the Overrun series, so that was very cool and exciting. Now I am picking Game of Thrones back up and make a bit more progress with that book.
Chris, the Stand has been moving very smoothly for me, and if you like Apocalyptic books you will love this one. I am enjoying it immensely.
Kathryn how about next Thursday, Sept. 5th? Does that work, and if so what time are you thinking? Let me know.
Katy, glad you did ok with the salad so far. I know that can't be any fun at all going through that.

7:17 p.m. Just finished the first volume of Sherlock Holmes. Excited to be finally starting Fear Collector!! :-D
8:32pm ET. Watching a little news and feeling sore after working in the garden all weekend. It is all good, though.
Veronica, the A-Z challenge. And Janie, "Y" will be my last one... finally. I went off on a long tangent! *laugh*11:03 p.m. EDT This book is really good. I popped back on to add the next book in the series to my wishlist so I can pick it up and read it before I forget too much, but I want to finish my A-Z challenge first! I have time... :-)
Ah, sorry Veronica, let me give you a link! The challenge for this year is here:http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...
You should just be able to click it. If that doesn't work let me know and I'll make an HTML link for you.

Calibre is awesome! It will organize your library for you, but I don't use it for that.
It just depends on how YOU want it organized. I'm pretty darn OCD and getting all my eBooks organized has been a lot, I mean A LOT OF WORK. It's taken me several months just to get a few thousand of them organized onto a flash drive like I want. But once it's done, it's done--you can't beat it. I mean, I can fit 15,000 books on my 5-dollar-walmart drive that I can carry on my key chain! Of course, I keep a backup copy of it too--it's just WAY TOO MUCH WORK TO LOSE. What I did: I just created a folder called "My Library" and then arranged it by author. Then I put each book in it's own folder under the author's directory depending on what I have from that author and the eBook type of what I have. For instance, if I have only have a single ebook from an author I just put that one book in that author's folder. However, sometimes you may have the same book in several formats. I collect mobi, epub, and pdfs, so there are many popular authors for which I have all their books in several formats. In that case I'll create a mobi, epub, and pdf folder in that author's directory, and a folder for each book in that directory. It's an unbelievable amount of work, but it's worth it. Just back it up as you work on it. I typically work on it while I'm listening to an audiobook, but you may just want to go with Calibre, lol. I'm just too particular.
3:24 a.m. EDT OMG I had planned to finish setting up the next couple weeks' worth of blogs before the end of the weekend but my eyes are all blurry now and my head aches and I need a NAP! *laugh* First I have to decide which Y book to read (since I have a whole TWO of them to choose between... the oldest, or the shiniest? Hmmm, maybe I should flip a coin?), then I think I'll go to sleep for awhile...
10.32am - watching my son make a complete mess of my living room (he's only 1 so I will let him off) and checking GR before I head off to finish Zom-B and start A Storm of Swords: Steel and Snow while watching Avatar and then LOTR:Two Towers :) xx
7:33AM Kay back at school, yay for mom! LOL She almost missed the bus though she had to run. LOL Randy home sick this AM but he had a rough night, he will sleep for awhile, and now I have all this peace and quiet. Started the laundry, and now gonna read some more of The Stand and then later some more of A Game of Thrones. I also started The Gingerbread Man, by Maggie Shayne. I have been wanting to read some of her stuff as I have a couple of her books. Alonbdra shared this link on Amazon for a freebie. As you can see I snagged it up. Good morning my GR friends.

Thanks Katy and Chuck. Chuck, you sound a lot like me lol! I had started doing it the same way as you but was hoping there may have been some quicker way of doing it lol. I think I will do it that way even though its time consuming... sadly, I get a huge amount of satisfaction out of sorting and organising things. May I ask how you use Calibre if you don't use it for organising your library? I'd like to be able to use it even if I'm arranging the folders and files manually.
Cindy, Calibre is a program for organising ebooks... that's probably not the best description, but it hopefully gives you a bit of an idea :)
8:54 a.m just chillin' until kiddo gets up, then we are going on a little drive to see this empty old house my guy wants to go look at (though I'm sure it will be out our budget range). Then I want to stop at a park so little man can run and play for awhile, and maybe get some lunch while we're out. That's how I want today to happen, lol. Whether it actually will or not is another question.
2.10pmFinished Zom-B a little before 12 and then remembered I had a fast-read library book out, so reading that first. It's a YA Horror/Thriller called The Haunting of Tabitha Grey and its not too bad. Then I will be starting ASOIAF#3 pt1 - A Storm of Swords: Steel and Snow :)
Michelle wrote: "May I ask how you use Calibre if you don't use it for organising your library? I'd like to be able to use it even if I'm arranging the folders and files manually."It useful for a lot of reasons, namely, reading different formats of eBooks and changing them from one format to another. It will strip the DRM out of eBooks that way. I, for one, don't dig the fact that I can buy an eBook from Amazon or wherever and then be forced to read it with whatever software they want to hype at the time. I don't buy books to support Amazon's or anyone else's platform. I suspect Amazon collects a lot of data on their readers reading habits, too. Plus, I wanna use my whole screen when I read on the computer. The Kindle App, for instance, wants to make my screen look like a paperback or something. That's a total waste of space, I think, so that's one of many reasons why I use FBReader as my primary eReader. But I may even want to copy and paste an eBook to my favorite text-to-speech app and listen to it while I do things around the house. I couldn't all ways do what I want with an eBook without Calibre. But it will do a lot of different things. I'm sure you'll find a use for it if you're very into eBooks.
12:34 PM. I'm about to eat lunch, and I need to get some laundry started and do the dishes. Going to workout later, but going to read some first. I think Mark and I wore ourselves out this weekend....lol
1:41 p.m. EDT Woke up when the water guy came to check our level, realized I haven't paid them in 6 months. Of course they have NO options for paying with debit card and I had planned to pay them using my PayPal account, which I now can't *sigh* so had to schedule a payment with the bank. I'll have to call them and let them know before they shut off the water... So inconvenient. They need to get with the times...
3:02PM Been reading a lot today once I got the laundry going. Read 100 pages in The Stand alone. I love this book. Also have read Gingerbread Man as well. It also very good. I am gonna start on reading more of A Game of Thrones now that I got my neglected blog site updated.
Kathryn did you see my response about a meet date? Sept 5th? Does that work? I think I might just message you lol.

Crap! Yes, I saw it! I forgot to reply when I posted earlier! September 5 works for me! Earlier in the day would best for me because trying to get back home in traffic in the evening is terrible. What time would work for you?
4:20 p.m. EDT Really need to stop messing around and start working on my blog, but ... why put off until later what you can put off until tomorrow amirite? But I have a doctor's appointment in the morning... Oh, well. I'll still have Wednesday! LOL
