What time is it and what are you doing?
1:21 a.m. and I have missed my friends on GR's so much the last few days. I think of you guys often, even when I'm not able to get online. Getting ready for bed and just wanted to say hello to all of you.
12:34 AM. Didn't do much tonight since Mark was at a work thing until almost 9. I'm laying in bed catching up on GR and I've got my Gizmo girl snuggled up with me. Not sure what we are doing tomorrow. We were supposed to go kayaking, but I have a feeling we aren't going since Mark's work thing involved a lot of beer apparently. We'll see, though. Anyways, I had a great workout today and that always makes me feel good. Guessing I'm going to call it a night. Good night, GR..... Cindy, I've missed you, too. Glad to see you post! Hope you have a relaxing weekend with some reading time. :)
Janie, I keep telling myself that! Maybe one day I will have the endurance to do a marathon. I think coffee at night is the best. :)
1:51 a.m. EDT It's been so lovely and cool the last couple of days, which has been much appreciated after the heat of the past few weeks. I finished off my bottle of mead tonight, so that was lovely. Redstone Meadery's Black Raspberry nectar, if there are any other mead enthusiasts around here. Tasty stuff! Finished the last of Artesans of Albia, and now I have to wait for the author to write the next book (impatiently), but now it's time to reacquaint myself with Dexter, so I'm quite happy about that. Dmitry has the day off tomorrow, depending on how I feel I might entice him to take me out for lunch. We'll see. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
7:18 AM EST - Sitting here waiting for my husband to stop playing with itunes so we can head out and secure a grill at Valley Stream State Park in LI
8:25AM Had my breakfast, then gonna be going for my morning run. Then read read read. Wanna finish Rage's Echo and Dark Mountain.
Veronica enjoy your day out! Sounds like a great time for y'all.

Thanks for mentioning this Kat..."Hit me up on my review when you get to DOUBLE DEXTER. I'm going to be reading it really soon.
12:09 PM. Didn't fall asleep until almost five am. I was just wide awake. Finally I got some sleep, but then my dad called at 9 am to tell me my 83 year old grandma fell and broke her hip last night in the nursing home. If any of you are the praying type, please keep her in your prayers, along with my grandpa who is there with her. I really don't have a good feeling about this, to be quite honest. :/ I will write more about it in my "World" later on...
18.11just watched STOKE CITY lose the opening game of The Premiership(it's called football not soccer)against LIVERPOOL 1-0.

I don't believe you'll find too many Americans that give a damn about soccer. Now football, hell yeah! The season is just about to start! Woot! Woot!

Sorry guys, I couldn't care less about either Football. I'm a Hockey fan myself and am anxiously awaiting the return in October. Still, I do hope your teams do well. I won't put down any sport I am no good at.
12:27PM and I am working tonight. Really don't feel like being here today because this is day 6 of 6 and I have the next 2 days off. Really hoping time flies by today. I'll be around checking in from time to time.
I LOVE FOOTBALL! My all time favorite sport to watch and yea, even to play! WOOT!
Chris hope you have a good day at work!

Football's awesome Janie!!2:13 p.m. Surprised that I'm functioning so well today on so little sleep. Hope there's not a repeat occurrence tonight..... :-\

Kathryn- so sorry to hear about your grandmother- will keep your grandparents in my prayers.
Chuck, just sent you a friend request. I'll let you know. Kathryn, so sorry to hear about your grandmother. Sending thoughts for strength and quick healing.
7:07 p.m. EDT Had a late lunch at Outback, and have been thoroughly enjoying my reread of Darkly Dreaming Dexter. I keep stopping to jot down quotes to add to the database... *laugh* I forgot how incredibly funny a lot of this is. Now I have a bunch of e-mail to go through... O.o

The reason why football/soccer is a truly great game is that no matter what your ability you can play in a competitive league and have a game every week.
It also really does bring the World together, no matter where you are on the planet start talking football(sadly apart from the US)and you are on safe ground.
Your football skills can not be improved by cheating by taking of performance enhancers. Given the sorry state of US sports at the moment, perhaps it is time the US looks again at 'the beautiful game'.
Chuck wrote: "Katy wrote: "Chuck wrote: "I've read the first five. I need to read DOUBLE DEXTER, which I do have. I've had a lot of fun with this series. Perfect timing! Never saw the show BTW. Thanks for mentio..."what football team do you pull for?
8:01 p.m. EDT Well, finally closing in on the end of all that e-mail by slightly cheating and not going to like all the Facebook stuff. Huge sorry to my friends for that, but I want to return to my darling Dexter... :-)
7:48PM Had a great dinner, baked lemon pepper Swai, brown rice and broccoli. Then had a great work out. Been reading Rage's Echo, it is really good. Gonna read some more of it, I could actually finish it tonight if I don't switch back to Dark Mountan.
Kathryn so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I hope she can recover quickly. Broken hips are always hard to bounce back from.
Holly hope you have a good night as well.

8:56 p.m. and I'm in the mood for reading. Spending all my time tonight on Swan Song. Fingers crossed that my body will cooperate tonight and let me get a couple hours of reading time in.
Kathryn - so sorry to hear about your grandmother. Hope she heals quickly. I will certainly keep her in my prayers.

I hope your Grandmother gets better Kathryn:) I hate football!!! My favorite sport is karate! I never thought of it as a sport until I started taking classes. Just like people think dance isn't a sport. But karate can really kick your butt!!! Doing horse punches, core holds, burpees, and kickboxing burnouts is great exercise:) And I'm glad I found something active that I like.
8:00 PM I got my purple belt today:) Everybody in the resting room was sweating bullets I'm just glad I didn't mess up my form:) About to dive back into A Feast for Crows:) This series is fantastic and I can't wait to see what happens. Have a wonderful day and rest of the weekend everyone:)
921pm- just checking into grput aside And the Mountains Echoed for now -will try it again next week- reading more of the alphabet series and gonna start Never Let Me Go later.
Victor- Congrats on getting your purple belt!
10:21 PM. So tired today and stressed. We didn't do much today, but went to Petsmart and got cat food for my girls, picked up something to cook for tonight, and got Sonic drinks. My dad came home and stopped by and had dinner with us, which was nice, and I started some laundry. I have been in contact with family most of the day about Grandma, but it really hasn't helped me stop worrying. Apparently the break was in her leg close to her hip, and they performed the surgery this afternoon. The surgery went well, and my uncle was there with my grandpa most of the day. The problem with my grandma is she has pretty severe dementia and becomes combative, and sometimes doesn't understand what's going on with her. So, when she started to come out of the sedative, she was combative, and the doctor had to basically sedate her. :/ Her health has been on the decline for about five years, and has lost quite a bit of weight, which is why I'm pretty worried. I already know the risks, as Mark works with patients like my grandmother every day because of his job, so it does and it doesn't make me feel any better. But, I will write more about it in my blog. Thank you again for all of your prayers, good thoughts, and kind words. It's making this easier to live with. Mark is watching a movie, and I'm catching up on GR, and then emailing a great friend who wrote me a really nice email today. Thank you so much, Rachel, Katy, Janie, Cindy, and Victor. I really appreciate it. :)
Aw Kathryn that's really sad news about your Grandma. I'm so glad that the surgery has gone well and I hope that her recovery will be speedy and and as smooth as possible. Dementia is such a horrible thing, I feel for you going through this, sending you big (((HUGS))!!Well done on getting your purple belt Victor, that is fantastic! Agh, burpees are a killer!
1.32pm I've decided to have a lazy day today. It's cold and raining so I've spent the morning drinking Milo and surfing the net in my PJ's LOL! Think I'll spend the arvo on the couch trying to finish off Inkheart... such a tough life!
Victor, well-done on your purple belt!Cindy, I also hope you had the chance to dive into Swan Song for a few hours!
Kathryn *hugs* Thoughts continuing your way.
12:11 a.m. EDT Since Dmitry had today off, tomorrow he works a double shift. One of his coworkers tried to call him at 11:30 just as he was drifting off to sleep! I told Dmitry call him back at 5 in the morning... O.o Anyway, finished the first Dexter book and ready to dive into the second. I'll likely just stay up tonight so I can see Dmitry off in time tomorrow. Have most of my blog posts ready for this next week, although I think I might have another to do yet. I'll double-check in a bit.

Sorry bro, but I don't care to hold hands with the world and sing Kumbaya around the campfire, but thanks anyway.
You do realize that baseball, football, basketball can be, and are played at all levels too, though, don't you? Even kids play those sports in school every year.

you see, that's where you're going wrong. It is a lot cheaper to send a football team, than a shit load of cruise missiles.
9:13AM Just has some toast for breakfast and now checking out GR. Want to finish reading Dark Mountain today. Finished Rage's Echo last night. So glad I read that. About to go for my morning run and will get back and start reading.
Kathryn glad the surgery went well and I understand your concerns. Will keep your grandmother in my prayers.

1:26 p.m. and I just got home from church. Read a couple of chapters out of Swan Song this morning, fixed some lunch, and we're about to visit my son for a while. Still need to do laundry today. Been good so far health wise. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
1:15pm. Have had a great weekend so far. Bout to run to grocery store. The hubby and I went and got haircuts yesterday and did some shopping in Southlake! I got two new bookcases for my library room...so going to do some organizing and rearranging and weed out some books in the process!
5:55 p.m. EDT Tried to sleep for awhile this morning but just couldn't 'cause I couldn't stop my brain working. Sent Dmitry off to work and finally fell asleep for a few hours. Now I'm hungry. Good thing I have left-over steak from Outback in the 'fridge! And about to start book 3 in the Dexter series... wOOt!
6:13 p.m. and I pushed myself really hard today. Taking the rest of the night to read if possible. Doctor says I must stop pushing myself this hard, but I do it anyway. Hardheadedness is going to kill me - literally. Anyway, I'm making a humble attempt to relax the rest of this evening. At least it's a start. Hope everyone had a great day. I got to visit the grandkids, my son, and my daughter for a little bit. And it's a beautiful day outside.
6:20pm ET. Got up this morning, started reading Of Mice and Men; finished it with tears in my eyes. Looked at gardening videos on YouTube, and promptly went to Lowes with my buddy... made a killing off of Clematis, which they had on clearance for $1... refused to pull weeds, but i did make dinner... which is rare! :DSalmon, Rice, green beans... no soda, no tea, or lemonade. Proud of me.
Alondra, I drink herbal tea. No caffeine. Doctor said it is good for me with the antioxidants. It does sound like you ate a very healthy meal and salmon is so good.
Resting with my iPad on the couch after dinner and a 3 hr hike in the woods of CT. Got lost for a half hour or so but found a high cliff with a tree top view overlooking miles of CT & RI. Great day..I'm whooped. And I have the week off from work. Woot!
8:17 p.m. - Taking a break and watching a movie with Jeff. I'm pretty happy today because I've gotten right around 100 pages read in the last day. Been struggling so much lately, but today has been pretty good. Have a great evening (or morning) everyone. Might be back later tonight and maybe not. Plan to be good to the body tonight and listen to it.
Cindy wrote: "Alondra, I drink herbal tea. No caffeine. Doctor said it is good for me with the antioxidants. It does sound like you ate a very healthy meal and salmon is so good."..okay; i broke down tonight and am drinking sweet tea now... ugh! it's sssoooo good... *slurp*
7:38PM Had leftovers for dinner, Baked Chicken, Long grain, wild rice and green beans. YUM! Then had my work out and watched Secret Window, Secret Garden after my shower. It followed the novella almost work for word. It was my least favorite of the 4 out of Four Past Midnight. Now gonna focus on reading. I did not do much of that today so I highly doubt I will finish Dark Mountain tonight. Oh well.
How are the Dexter books Katy? I have had the first four on my shelf for years!!! I am loving the final season!!!!!
9:58pm ET. I have been trolling this site for 2 hours... WTF!?...anyway; trying to talk myself into picking up Catch-22 again. I may just keep this one home and read Perks at work... decisions, decisions.. :/
10:08 p.m. EDT While I had hoped to stay up and finish this book, I think I'll stop and take a nap. I keep yawning hard enough to make my eyes water, so I guess I need some sleep. That will delay finishing the book, 'cause once I'm up tomorrow it's back to editing, but c'est la vie.
10:02 PM. Good evening GR friends....I called my grandpa this morning, and he said it was okay to see my grandma. So, got ready, and stayed there at the hospital until about 5:45 PM. We drove to a restaurant and met my dad there for dinner. We got home a bit ago, and I'm just relaxing on the couch. Thinking some decaf and a blog post will do my heart a little good.
2.25pm Having a quick lunch break and catching up with all the GR goss. Work is going pretty well for a Monday so can't complain :)Glad to hear you're listening to your body and having a rest Cindy, I was worried when you said you're pushing yourself so hard :)
Every time the posts go to a new pages I miss some. Victor, loving them! I've read the first five before, so I already knew I loved them, but books 6 and 7 will be my first read.and sweet tea is yummy.
1:25 a.m. EDT Yes, I said I was going to go to sleep 3 hours ago. No, I didn't, instead staying up to finish my book... *laugh* I really will try to go to bed soon, I have a blazing headache and editing to do tomorrow. 'Night all!

Now I am reading. Got stuck on Dark Mountain, by Laymon, so good! Now switching back to Rage's Echo. Want to get these two done this weekend. I told myself that I can not go back into my library until I make more progress on The Stand and Game of Thrones. And I mean it! heh
Katy, glad you feel somewhat better.
Kathryn, keep training on running and marathons will be right around the corner. P.S. I love coffee at night too.
Alondra, love your plans for the weekend!
