Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:03 p.m. EDT Discussing where to go to lunch, being rather desultory, which probably is idiotic since a lot of places close early on Sunday around here. In the mood for something different, but D keeps shooting down my ideas... *sigh* *stomach growling*

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 1:06 PM. We got up at 5:00 AM and took the kayaks out to a new spot. We left when it started to get hot. Now we are home, are going to take naps, and hopefully I'll read later. :)

3:17 p.m. and I'm at the library with my friend. We spent the day together and had a really nice time even though I had to wash clothes. I really needed a relaxing day and it's beautiful outside. I feel refreshed now and ready to go home and read. My friend has to be home at 4 and I will probably be back home around 5. Rest of the night will just be reading. :)

Alondra Miller 3:42pm ET. Started reading The Passage, on accident and now I am hooked. I was supposed to wait until September, but ..er,..I just sort of fell into reading it. :O

5:17PM About to go work out, and then read for the rest of the night, not sure what I want to read. Probably some more of the stand because I don't think I can tolerate anymore of GOT for the day.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 1:46 a.m. EDT I'm so tired but the cats are being brats and fighting and keeping me awake. Maybe we need a round of neuterings to calm down the hormones... *sigh* "Mansfield Park and Mummies" isn't as funny as the other Supernatural Jane Austen books by Vera Nazarian, but it has its moments... It's REALLY long, though. When I started it, the PaperWhite estimated reading time for the full book at 10 hours, and it seems to be fairly correct in these estimates. So, I'm thinking it's over 600 pages, anyway. Not sure. I do wish it had page numbering as well as percentages, but we can't have it all, right? :-)

10:27AM Aves & I had some breakfast. He is now watching Land Before time #2. I am checking out GR and about to plunge into The Stand, and then maybe read a bit of Promise Not to Tell. I will read as much as Aeverie allows today. Also have to get the Laundry started.

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 3:58PM I have just over an hour and a half till the end of my shift. I'm so dead tired all I want is a nap. I had a great day yesterday but very busy.

I wasn't going to say this but yesterday was my Dad's and My birthday. My Dad was the guest train conductor at the Zoo for his birthday and we all went to spend the day at the Zoo. The kiddos had a great time. After, my wife, kids, and I went to dinner with my parents. It was a great day, but I should have taken today off to recoup. In case you were wondering, I turned 30 yesterday. Not a big deal to me, but some seem to think it is a mile stone.

4:31PM Just had dinner. Tuna salad sandwiches, fresh Green beans, and some strawberry yogurt for dessert. I will be working out in just a little bit and then will also be going in the pool and enjoy this last month of swimming.

message 5864: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hey, Chris, sounds like you had a great 30th birthday. I sort of vaguely remember, but that was a different life for me. Different city, different husband, different set of friends... Heh. Times change. Happy belated birthday! And same to your dad.

7:03 p.m. EDT Very tired. I have another novella to edit, but I think I'll take a nap first! It's hot, though, so I'll have to go gather my ice packs... and hope the cats will settle down and stay settled down so I can sleep!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 8:25 PM. Hey everyone! I had kind of a busy day today. Spent some time with Mark this morning after we got up, then I had to go check my dad's mail which takes an hour round-trip, came home and fixed Mark lunch, and then he left for work, since this is his last week on night shift. Yay! I did some laundry, dishes, and read a few pages before I did some organizing. I got in a GREAT hour run, and then just sat down after my shower. I'm about to fix myself dinner, make some coffee, and finish my book. Less than 100 pages left.

Chris, happy belated birthday!!!! Sounds like you had a great day! My brother and our dad have the same birthday, too. I was supposed to be born on their birthday, but, I decided I wanted my own birthday and was five days late in making my appearance. :)

Janie, so proud of you on your workout!!!! You are awesome! Let's keep it up!

Cindy, hope you have a great night. Glad to see you post. :)

Katy, I can't sleep when it's too hot either. It makes me sweaty and uncomfortable. So, I just freeze Mark to death with my fan. Haha!

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments Happy birthday Chris, so glad you mentioned it so that we can all send you our well wishes :) Awesome to hear that you had such a great day!

Janie and Kathryn, you girls are so motivated - thank you! You have inspired me to get back into my exercise... I did the Jillian Michaels Blast Fat Boost Metabolism workout last night and it nearly killed me LOL! I used to be able to get through the whole thing fairly easily (as in it made me work hard but I could still do everything) but now there are parts of it that I really struggle to do :/ I didn't realise how unfit I'd gotten! Oh well, at least it will be rewarding when my body starts to change! I've lost 1.5kg of the 17kg that I need to lose so I'm excited about that. It'll be so good to feel like myself again. I'm glad I have you girls to keep me motivated :)

message 5870: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 11:40 p.m. EDT Well, I did manage to sleep a little, with an ice pack on my head and one between my feet, and the cats have settled down *knocks on wood* These little spats usually don't last long, but with three toms, they do happen occasionally. It's weird they're doing this in August, usually the problem is in February or March when the mollies go into heat outside. But it has been hot so maybe they're just cranky about it, too... LOL Will start my next editing project in a bit; this one is an already published book, so I'll be tracking my progress here.

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments Lol Katy, my cats are always fighting with each other so I feel your frustration :)

message 5872: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments It wouldn't be so bad, but they tend to bully the little fluffy one. Erasmus is (now) undisputed alpha, but occasionally Tiger decides he needs to remind Fluff of his place. *sigh* Then today Fluff and Erasmus started fighting each other all over the place and knocking stuff down. Brats... :-)

10:58PM Aves went to sleep just a little after 8:00PM. Hub went to bed, Derek still at work so it is just Kay and myself. I am enjoying the quiet, reading a book and checking out GR.

Michelle I am glad we motivated you. I have not been dropping much weight, which is frustrating, about 20 pounds total, but I am losing the inches and gaining the muscle. SO I will take that.

message 5874: by Shell (new)

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments That's awesome Janie, good on you :) I can't wait to get my muscles back again lol!

message 5875: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Janie, remember that muscle weighs more than fat. When you're exercising, you will inevitably build muscle. It would be more accurate to watch your BMI than your poundage, and measure yourself every couple weeks. THEN you will notice the difference.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 1:41 AM. I finished two books tonight, so I am so happy. I got all ready for bed, and my handsome husband came home. I was thinking he would be later than he was, so I'm happy to have him home. I am thinking I am going to start Game of Thrones earlier than I had planned. After the fourth book in the VC Andrews series I've been reading, I'm a little emotionally exhausted. I will read the fifth and final book later on. Goodnight, GR....:)

My baby Giz slept with me last night for the first time in several days. It always makes me sleep better. I'm going I read until Mark gets up, then make him something to eat. I'm hoping I like the A Game of Thrones books because I don't know what I will read next. I hadn't gotten that far ahead in my thinking....haha

Happy Belated Birthday, Chris!! 30 is a milestone even when you don't want it to be! Glad you had such a great day--you deserve it!!

11:57am EDT. Kind of have the blahs for the 2nd day in a row. Can't get interested in anything. The puppy Charlie is trying like heck to cheer me up, though. In between stuff to read and nothing I pick up seems to suit. I hate it when I get in moods like this. Just got some laundry going, trying to find little things to do to perk me up. Too hot to go for a walk--the dog days of summer are definitely upon us! Guess I'll go grab another cup of coffee and try and find some inspiration in my bookshelves...

I was thinking last night how I am all ways sweating this very thing. I have decided that though there are tons of books out there, there aren't many great ones. Have you read Rebecca? I just thought about trying that one a little while ago. I think I'll be getting into the classics pretty hard core as soon as I'm done with the few ones I have planned out. I am so tired of looking for books. I spend more time looking than reading. Either that or I'll go back to what I used to do and stay on each author for a while.

11:40AM Ok it is lunchtime and I decided on 10 crackers with jalapeno hummus and a plum, YUM I love plums! LOL Aeverie decided he was done with games, so I will read a little bit now and hope that Auntie Kay can entertain him for a bit.

Alondra!!?? 4:00AM, that is impressive, the book must be fabulous for you!

Terri I have stumped myself many times picking a book, but not because they don't sound good, it's because I have so many I want to read and have a hard time deciding which.

message 5891: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Kathryn, I also used to work with backstabbing people and end up being the one backstabbed. I have difficulties understanding office politics, since how I was trained was to behave professionally toward everyone, no matter how you felt about them personally, and keep your head down and do your work. Apparently that is not how things are done in Georgia! I'm just happy that I now work from home and no longer need to deal with those sorts of people. Veronica, sorry you're having to deal with it!

2:56 p.m. EDT and I think I can definitely say my cats are finished with their battles, since it's been over a day since the last one. Whew. Slept fairly well this morning and ready to go back to editing this most interesting UFO conspiracy book!

I switch off between them. I generally set goals of the amount of pages I want to read in each one and that generally works pretty well for me. Unless of course one is particularly fantastic and I read it through. LOL
