Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Goodnight, Janie! :)

Terri, OMG!! The kayaks were so fun!!!! Mark and I watched our first sunset in them on Saturday. I think we're going to get up super early on Saturday and go to another lake to take them out. Thank you for asking. :)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:58 PM. And another day is done and gone...I got pretty much all of the laundry done, plus ironing. Have a few things like towels and socks to fold tomorrow so, I'd say my laundry day was productive. Had a great run, and feeling a little achy for some reason. My sciatic nerve is acting up a little, but it will pass. I went to the grocery store, then cooked chicken sandwiches, which Mark has been asking for lately. I even managed to post in my Bookworm Buddies blog. Starting Thursday, Mark will be working a different shift from about 2 PM to 12 AM to do some teaching to the nurses at his hospital. It's going to be different for about two and a half weeks, and I have a feeling I should get lots of reading done to keep from being lonely. Goodnight GR.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 4:24 a.m. EDT I really need to try to sleep, I only had three hours yesterday, but I'm feeling sort of jazzed. It happens sometimes when I end up sleep deprived that I simply can not sleep. *shrug* I guess I'll sleep when I crash. Meanwhile I'm enjoying this Star Wars book. I might pause before my other Vine book and read the other Star Wars book on my review pile, I haven't decided yet...

9:33AM Only Aeverie and I are up. He is enjoying another classic movie that Pawpaw got him, Bambi, the 1942 version and he is enjoying it. He just got him Dumbo on Monday. He loves the classic cartoons from Disney, that makes me happy.

So today I am gonna finish Saint and then probably start Sinner or read some more of The Stand. My reading has been going well. Soon I will embarking on my journey with the ASOIAF series. Scared of it, but looking forward to it at the same time.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 6:25 p.m. EDT Well, the NetGalley Star Wars book never showed up on my Kindle network, to my irritation, and has now been archived, so I was forced to find it another way. However, I did manage to find a copy (yay!) so I can read it after all. Then I'll read my other Vine book. It's a muggy day in Georgia, looks like we may have a storm later, but hard to say for sure. All I know is I feel like I need gills to proper breathe!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:10 PM. I didn't to workout today because I really didn't feel well. Feeling much better after laying down for a little while, and my sweet Gizmo coming up to love on me. Mark came home while I was folding some laundry, and since he starts his new shift tomorrow, he took about a two hour nap, and I watched the Rangers baseball game. We're eating a pizza, and while he's watching t.v., I'm on GR and reading for a cup of coffee and some reading. Hope all of my lovely GR friends are having a great night. :)

10:24PM So I made dinner, we had spaghetti, its been awhile. Then I had a great work out, I was going to take Aeverie to the playground afterward, but I got a sun burn earlier so I thought a walk would not feel very good since today at 4:00PM it was still 99 out. LOL So we opted to swim a little bit around 7. Aeverie loves swimming anyway so he was happy either way.

Now I am about to continue my adventure through Paradise with the 3rd and final installment, Sinner. This has been such a great read for me, I have enjoyed every minute of it.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 2:25 PM. Well, it's the first day of Mark's temporary shift change to make sure the night nurses are doing their jobs. We pretty much spent the morning together, had lunch, and then he got ready for work. I miss him already. :/ going to read a bit, then workout, then who knows? I might read some more. Haha! Hope everyone has a great day!

message 5716: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Well good luck Kathryn. When my wife is gone and I am home alone I miss her and I clean like a mad man. Once she was gone for the weekend and I couldn't sleep so I scrubbed the bathroom and cleaned the whole apartment. She was so shocked when she got home she said she should leave more often.

I'm sure it will be a bit tough at first but it is only temporary.

2:32 PM got the cleaning bug. My wife and I are cleaning and the kids are playing. Good Jazz on my little speaker and iPod. Just checking in real quick. I also hope everyone is having a good day too.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 3:35 p.m. EDT Just realized a blog post I needed to do for the weekend was going to be problematic. I specifically told the author to send me the pictures separately but she embedded them into the post. GAH! I can't pluck pictures out of a Word doc and they won't copy/paste, so I've had to contact her and ask her to send them. Again. *shakes head* Have to finish this book, I have so much more reading I want to do and am running out of week!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 5:39 PM. Just got a shower after a great hour long run! Thinking about having a snack and doing some reading before dinner. I wonder how much of this book I can knock out if I don't get too distracted? Hmmm...let's put it to the test! :)

I will post them all in the proper thread. So I had a great work out and now here I am telling y'all about my day while enjoy a cup of coffee.

message 5725: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:35 PM. I read several pages earlier, and since it was so quiet in the house, I got sleepy and took a nap since I want to try to stay up until my love gets home. Watched a little tv, made and ate a delicious salad, did the dishes, cleaned up the kitchen, and now I'm settling down to read.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 1:56 a.m. EDT I have so many things to read and am not sure what to read next... I guess I could start early on the Artesans of Albia, but I also want to re-read the School of the Ages, and I told this other guy I'd try to read his book this weekend and ... Maybe I should just throw a dart...

8:46AM A beautiful morning here this AM. Having my coffee and checking out GR. Gonna read more of Sinner and hopefully finish it by tomorrow. I got so many new books that I am overwhelmed. LOL My read of GOT starts the 5th. Have a great day everyone.

message 5730: by [deleted user] (new)

10:47am EDT. Had a good morning doing laundry and finishing up some cleaning. Now I have the rest of the day to read and relax. Enjoying my 3rd cup of coffee and checking out GR. I'm working on some really good books. Charlie the puppy is zonked out after a full morning of playtime. (He's now 13 months old, but he will always be "the puppy" to me!) Have a great day all my GR friends!

Cindy, hope you got some good sleep!

Kathryn, what does Mark do? (I was an RN for many years.)

message 5731: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:13 AM. Good morning, GR! About to make some coffee and do more reading until Mark wakes up. I think I'm definitely going to finish my book today, and hopefully will start the next in the series. I am really looking forward to finishing the series because I don't remember what all happens to them. I should definitely be ready to start then ASOIAF series with Janie and Michelle next week! I can't wait!

Terri- So good to hear from you! And my two kitties, even though Gizmo is 5 1/2 and Pepper is 3 1/2, they will always be my babies or kitties. More like my children, than cats, so I understand about cutie puppy Charlie. :) Mark started working for his sub-acute rehab hospital as a speech therapist five years ago. When he transferred hospitals, he was a part-time speech therapist, part-time FIM coordinator. Now, he is the Prospective Payment System Coordinator. Since Obamacare was passed, it created a new rating system of patients, like on a scale of one to ten, and part of Mark's job is to show everyone how to rate, make sure ratings are being done with every patient, and the like. I think it helps determine how much money the hospital will eventually get from Medicare, since most of the patients they have are stroke patients.

6:59 a.m. EDT Not feeling well at all the last couple days. I slept all night, so it's not as bad as yesterday, or I just slept through the worst of it, I'm not sure, but now I have a headache. Probably from sleeping so much. Ha! Back to reading if I can stay awake!

1:15 p.m. EDT Well, that book was supposed to be a one-hour read, but it took me two. Boo. Anyway, I guess I'll read my Batman screenplays. I've had them way too long and NetGalley has long since archived them (and a good bunch of others I have) so I best start on them...

11:50PM Getting ready to head to bed. Finally decided to take a crack at running. It has been a long time and I did really well. That makes me happy. I also had a great work out. Made some smoothies today with strawberries and bananas. I am not huge on fruits like I am veggies, so having them in smoothies is a great alternative to just eating fruit. Also found a great site that can help me get better at 'healthy' meal planning if anyone is interested. http://www.eatingwell.com/

I got quite bit read today. Will finish Sinner tomorrow, and get ready for my GOT read. Well y'all I am heading off to bed, plan to run again in the AM. Sleep tight!
