8:44PM Had a great work out, I love ab work outs anyway. Yesterday the Kenpo put some hurting on muscles I did not know I had. LOL Woke up pretty sore today. Anyway had my work out, shower, then the playground with Aeverie for a short time because another storm was rollin in. Just had some hummus and celery and a cup of honey tea. Now gonna read some more and finish tonight or tomorrow on Cryer's Cross.

Terri she had a great day, we are celebrating with her more later this week because we did not have the funds on her birthday, so we will take her out this Thursday. Yes she is my youngest and my oldest is soon to be 25. LOL I hear ya, I am old as well.

Yay Cindy, keep us informed, hope all goes well and mama and baby are happy and healthy!

The kitties are happy tonight, and we've been really enjoying the rain. It's something I've never seen in all my 28 years in Texas. I hope it continues. :)

1:51 a.m. EDT Well, I really did mean to go to sleep, but was so close to the end that I just finished my book... I'll do my Random Read next, but tomorrow I'll be going over Nick Wastnage's MS again first. Going to sleep SOON as I finish with e-mail...

11:40Am Git here late this morning because Aeverie wanted to do other things lol. So I am about to make more hummus because I love the jalapeno one. Then maybe have some lunch. Aeverie is wanting to swim today, so if the sun stays out long enough and warms the pool water a bit he can go.

Kathryn sorry you have not been feeling well. I have missed your posts! The rain has been wonderful hasn't it. We needed it badly I wish we would get more, but I will take what we got.

10:23PM I am late posting here as usual. Kay and I have been doing vlogs for my Indiana family. They are enjoying them. So I have been editing and uploading those, reading Cryer's Cross in between uploads lol.

Work out was great. I love how I feel afterwards. I feel so accomplished. Anyway Aeverie and Kay were able to swim a bit today. Still to cool after the rain for me to swim. But glad they enjoyed themselves. Had my coffee, no about to get back into my book. Will prolly finish tonight.

We have the heat if you want it. Got up to 95F here today.

message 5516: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments It hit 91 here today, then started cooling off and we ended up with quite a storm. I was delighted, however, to go outside at gloaming and notice there are still fireflies active!

12:26 a.m. EDT finished with my editing for the week, and my new tattoo is scheduled for Friday morning - wOOt!! Can't wait! I'll read for awhile, but need to go to bed before too much longer, as USPS left notice of a certified letter at the door today. They can't have knocked or it would have set off the dog; guess they weren't too concerned about actually handing it over to me. I'll complain when I go in tomorrow, 'cause it's damned inconvenient to have to go in just 'cause the carrier didn't want to bother to knock...

Starting watching SIX FEET UNDER Season 1

,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, STILL GAME Season 1, a great Scottish Sitcom about a group of pensioners but played by younger actors - really surreal and funny. The Scots as a nation ARE exactly like Groundkeeper Willie, you do not mess with Scots, who else would go into battle in a kilt armed with bagpipes and WIN.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 10 p.m. EDT Oh, the COOLEST thing happened today! I looked out the window and there were TWO deer in the front yard eating! I watched them for awhile, then stealthily slid the window up to try to take a picture, but instead of pushing to snap a picture I hit the power button... d'oh!! When I turned the stupid thing back on, it spooked them and they left. But then I looked and they were in the BACK yard. So I opened the door and watched them for awhile. I had to go sit down, but at sunset I went back and went out on the back porch and not only were they still there, I didn't even scare them away! One was bedded down in the neighbor's yard. They were grooming each other, and scratching with their hooves... *laugh* So wonderful! Then I watched the fireflies for awhile, then Erasmus started howling, so I came back in... Anyway, it was very cool. I'm also all hyper 'cause my tattoo appointment is TOMORROW right after lunch and Dmitry is taking the day off, so afterward we can go to the brewery and have a pint. I'm super psyched!!

12:41am EDT. Spending time on the MacBook since I don't feel at all tired. The puppy is on floor next to me, sleeping soundly after a big day of puppy games and puppy fun. Oh boy, now he's dreaming. Wouldn't you love to know what a dog dreams? (Do cats give signs of dreaming like dogs do?)

Katy, good luck with the tattoo!

Jordan, hope you have a great time on your blind date!

Good night GR!

message 5532: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Hi Terri!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) have missed you!

I've noticed my two kitties dream. My cat I had growing up did, too. They twitch and sometimes their eyes kind of open. Gizmo's mouth twitches, and Pepper's belly giggles. :)

message 5533: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, Kathryn, cats DEFINITELY dream. Erasmus often sort of growls and whines. I'll try to stroke him without waking him when he does that and he'll often calm down, but yesterday I accidentally woke him and it startled him badly, but then he started playing like a kitten. It was pretty funny.

2:23 a.m. EDT Need to wake up early tomorrow, take a shower and go to the post office before going for a good lunch before the tattoo. Need a good, protein-rich lunch ahead to avoid shock. Will also need to take some meds ahead - painkillers, anti-inflammatories, and an anti-nausea pill, since it's been a few years. So, about ready to go to sleep.

10:07AM Looks like our heat went elsewhere like up north. I actually ant our 100 degrees back, now that I have been in Texas for 16 years I am used to it, but it went bye bye. So unusual! I can't swim unless it is 90's or above. So yesterday it finally reach the 90 mark, but then was back in the 80's quickly because there was rain around us still.

Kay has not ben feeling well for a couple of days. Checked on her this AM and no fever, so that is good. Hope she is feeling better today we have a day out planned.

Reading is finally getting back to normal, but now it is catch up. I have 3 books going now, I did finish Cryer's Cross which was a decent read.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 345 comments 11:42 a.m and checking up with GR. Feeling in a reading slump have 2 books started days ago and just haven't picked em back up. Supposed to be packing stuff up, but slacking, same goes for housekeeping. It's just too hot. And too hot to go out and do stuff like walking/hiking, so feeling even worse. Moved most of my books over to my dad's for storage along with a bunch of other stuff that has been packed already, but I miss having em here to look at lol. I kept a couple boxes of TBRs here but haven't even made any progress reading em yet. Sigh. And feeling lagged because I have a backlog of reviews to write, and the stories, details everything are already fading, so I'm not sure how well that's going to go. Sigh... :)

The BBC recently did a documentary called THE SECRET LIVES OF CATS where by they fitted web cams onto a group of your feline friends collars - revealing that your precious Cuddles of whatever gender is little more than a sex crazed, sadistic maniac, it was a really funny documentary.

Katy, how did the tattoo go? Dying to know.

HI KATHYRYN!! **waving and smiling**

Janie, hope Kay feels better. It sucks to be sick in the summer if you're a teenager.

9:49pm EDT. Hub is watching baseball (well, I'm sort of keeping track as well) and I just finished a great book (Middlesex) that I had originally put down as unreadable. So glad I gave it a second chance! I've also been reading a lot of poetry lately. We've had the awful heat here too all week. Sadly, I don't have a pool like you do Janie! Started some new books, so I think I'll start my night's reading. :)

That's good to know. I abandoned it too, and I've heard so much good stuff about it. But you know what? I was thinking it was non-fiction for some reason, but I don't know why, I knew it won the Pulitzer for fiction.
I've been taking it real easy this month on books. I'm just about to finish the Queen of Bedlam audiobook. I'm really digging listening to this McCammon series. This stuff is just so different from his other stuff. Though, this one is probably not quite as good as the first one in the series, but it's good enough that I'll be signing up with audible to get the next one. It really does that transport-me-to-another-time-and-place thing well. That's what fiction is all about for me: escapism.

10:43PM We hd out day out, Kay is feeling better, but she has strained her back some how. Its been hurting for a few days. I think she laid wrong in bed or maybe the hand stands in the pool. Told her to take it easy for a few days. It is near her shoulders. I can feel she is a little knotty there. Her throat cleared up so that is good.

We went to visit hub's sister and family today. I made them some hummus and took it to them. Enjoying some coffee, and now gonna read some more. Katy the tattoo looks great.
