Cindy, so sorry for your predicament. Try to take care of yourself the best you can. *hugs*

Katy, I bet you'll look awesome for the wedding! Enjoy!

9:53am EDT. Having a leisurely morning drinking coffee, cuddling with the puppy, and checking out GR. Hub is sleeping in which is a good thing. Plan a major library haul today--I'm ready for some new stuff to read! Kind of a gray day, may have some rain later. Happy weekend all my friends on GR!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments I actually do have a very nice outfit that my cousin was kind enough to buy for me, so I think I'll look okay for a change... LOL I'll be sure to share a picture once I have one.

10:17 a.m. EDT about time to wake hubby up. My hair isn't near dry, but I guess they can always finish it at the salon! Time to set up my next book. Had planned to read MT McGuire's shorts, but since I'll be in and out all day, it'd be too hard to review them and keep up...

Watched SAVAGES by Oliver Stone.
started watching THE SHIELD Season 3
Going to watch the Stones on telly tonight live from Glastonbury, I used to go every year but it's been completely ruined due to commercialism. But Heaven used to be a field in Somerset.

It does. I loved living there, and had to garden accordingly. I do miss it. :)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 10:07 p.m. EDT OMG I am so tired I can't see straight and I hurt EVERYWHERE, but what a wonderful day! It'll be worth the days of pain to follow... :-) Lots of great pics, not sure when they'll be posted. I be sure to share the one of me in a sombrero and my husband in a tiny hat and a pink feather boa (to match my cardigan)... LOL Sadly, no drag queens in the ceremony, but at least 3 at the reception, who were all very encouraging when I stumbled over trying to make a toast... The bride was gorgeous, and my cousin looked most dashing in her tux... All in all a terrific day and a beautiful couple.

10:22 p.m. and we just got home from a night out. I am stuffed! There is this mom and pop pizza parlor that has been in business for 42 years locally. We love to eat there. Now, I'm just gonna need to get the energy up to read for a bit.

message 5259: by Rachel (new)

Rachel 10:14 pm- had a "meh" day

katy- sounds like a fun time :D- be sure to post pics when you can.

message 5260: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Ah, Rachel, it was just lovely. I was blubbering through the whole ceremony, along with my cousin's sister next to me and the big, hunky black guy sitting in front of me. So I didn't feel so badly about it... :-) I wish I'd had the strength and energy enough to stay longer at the reception - I'd really wanted to do karaoke - but I was just wiped out and had to come home and rest. I'll definitely be paying for this, but it was great. Sorry your day was 'meh'; I guess I must've stolen some of your sunshine... hopefully tomorrow will be better. :-) *hugs*

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:03 a.m. EDT I ... remembered the dog. Needed to go out. Hubby out cold. Cat cuddled up (Tiger. He's the least catish, so when he wants reassurance, he comes and asks for it. Erasmus, on the other hand, is finding strategic places to pee and studiously ignoring me... *rolls eyes*). Almost asleep. then *bam* Oh, crap. I'm all but I wanna SLEEEEEP but who knows when one of us would wake, so ... CRAWLED out, staggered in here, put him out. *sigh*

Hopefully I'll have the chance to try that sleeping thing again soon... Although I think I might be too tired to sleep...

9:45 a.m. and I'm off and running again! Wish I could get paid for all the running I do, LOL. Have about an hour to read and I am so happy Jeff is still in bed. I absolutely cannot get any reading done when he is awake. Love him to death, but he talks to me constantly. I do understand. I'm never home, so he wants my attention when I am. Anyway, I plan to take advantage of my hour of quiet :)

Alondra Miller 10:29am ET. Finished my short-ass review of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. I liked it, but halfway through it went off in another direction. Meh.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Okay, THAT was annoying... the whole browser just crashed, and I was almost done with a really long post... *sigh*

CINDY, go check out my blog, I posted a video early this morning that will make you laugh (I hope).

2:56 p.m. EST Took me awhile to sleep, between one thing and another. Dog needed put out. Dmitry fighting trolls in his dreams. The cats. I finally locked the cats out. Anyway, Erasmus was angry with me being gone yesterday and ... befouled the wallet in which my Dragon*Con tickets were. They survived, but ... *sigh* They're not going to smell so good. Bad damn cat. His howling woke me up about 1:30 this afternoon, but I feel almost human again. I did just check, but no pictures have been posted to my cousins' pages yet. Hopefully I'll have some to share soon. I took a picture of Dmitry, but that was for his mom. He took a few pictures with his iPhone, but we didn't want to be intrusive, and they were taking a lot of pictures, so I expect they'll be sharing them extensively. But I did think of y'all and check before I posted! LOL I will be finishing up Zeus Inc today, and then go back and read the M T McGuire shorts. Hope everyone is having a good day! I'm still overflowing with joyful tears and warm fuzzies from yesterday...

But hey if it makes her happy ill let her get on with it, having cuddles with my kitten and I'm just about to read a little

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 7:54 a.m. EDT I crapped out last night and went to sleep, and slept all night. I did pop on for awhile in the middle of the night when I remembered I needed to do bills, but it was dark in here and I didn't even want to try to type much. Still can't really see clearly, which commonly happens when I'm tired. Anyway, I'm editing Nick Wastnage's sequel to Playing Harry this week, which should be a joy as usual, and once I clear out my e-mail I'll be starting that! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend, and may all the warm fuzzies I felt on Saturday multiply and come among you...

8:52AM Good morning to all my GR friends. I have been having a marvelous time with my Sister and nieces from Indiana. It was a fantastic surprise! They try to come as often as possible to see us, but it was not gonna be this year, so you can understand why it was such an awesome gift. My oldest Daughter Amy was the one that set the whole thing up to surprise her mama. Well she succeeded! We have been mostly vegging so far. Today we will be going to Eureka Park and then Amy wants to treat us for dinner. What a great week I am gonna have.

Randy also worked on Friday for double time, so now we will get the load of dirt we need to fill in the area for the pool, and hopefully it will go up on Wednesday in time for the 4th.

Cindy I hope you are able to get more me time. I totally understand loving the quiet while our other half is sleeping or away. Makes for great reading time. Take care of yourself!

Katy glad the wedding was awesome!

Jordan I hope you have a fabulous birthday! Its always well spent when you are with your family!

Sean sorry about your problem with the spyware. Have you tried Microsoft Security essentials? Well as long as you have PC with windows. It is a great program for free.

Have a great day everyone!

Dude, if you don't want to reinstall your OS then just download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and run that--it will take hours but it will fix you up. I've seen many antivirus companies recommend it when things get too out of hand for their product. Then install Microsoft Security Essentials to keep it from happening in the future and you should be good to go.

message 5274: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 9:17 p.m. EDT Wow. After last week's fiasco of an editing gig, it was such a pleasure to work on another of Nick Wastnage's cool crime thrillers that I just sat here working all day long and finished it. Assassination Continuum, book 2 in the Harry Fingle Collection, coming soon!

Pictures from my cousin's honeymoon in San Francisco have been coming in periodically. They visited Alcatraz today. Sounds like they're having fun, and Keli's really blowing a wad on the trip, but she did wait a very long time to find that special someone, so I'm sure she's saved plenty :-) I imagine Shannon is being spoiled rotten, which she deserves. She's such a sweet lady!

Now to read for awhile, and try to make amends to Erasmus for all the neglect... hopefully then he'll stop peeing all over everything... LOL

1:00PM Just kinda vegging back today with my family. Finished Black House, so glad that is over. I have a new buddy read with Veronica if that one is still on and still reading Four Past Midnight, well have not really been reading it the past week because of Black House. I have not been getting here too often lol. Have a great day everyone!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:08 p.m. EDT After crashing for 10 hours I feel mostly human again! Erasmus is purring on the pillow by me, so I guess he's mostly forgiven me, even if I did lock him out again last night... Need to send the hubby off to work, and have some editing to do today for Daniel Black (but his name isn't coming up in a search... WTF?? I've added it with HTML), the next in the Magic series of really fun books! It's a long'un, so I'll be busy the rest of the week, but will try to pop in now and again!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 3:10 a.m. EDT Crawled out of bed about 11, ate a burger Dmitry brought home for me, crawled back INTO bed... LOL Up and ready to edit for awhile; Dmitry has to be at work at 11 in the morning, so once he's off, I'll probably sleep for awhile longer. He has Thursday off, so while he has to work on Friday, which blows any chance for going out on my birthday, maybe we can do something Thursday instead... Hope everyone here has a great day!

I appear to have fixed my PC have not got a clue how I did it, I just deleted everything that seemed suspect. The only site I could'nt access was Goodreads so that really pissed me off, every time I accessed the site instead of adverts for books I was getting either Russian Brides or penis enlargement treatments!!!

Watched TITAN A.E. SF animated feature(I bet no one's seen that one).

Watched REINDEER GAMES starring Ben Affleck

8:48AM Good Morning my dear GR friends! Have a busy day today with family. It will be a full day out I am sure. Also going to get the sand for our pool since we could not get anyone to go pick up dirt for us. What is most irritating about the dirt is this. They charge ONLY $23/per yard, we would get 1 or 2 yards just to level the pool, it would be $46 plus tax, BUT if we have it delivered they would charge $213 for 2 yards :O um that is an awful lot for gas, dontcha think? UGH So we are just gonna get a few bags of sand for now. We will of course be heading to the book store today yay! EXCITING!

Hope you have a decent birthday Katy!

Just had an interesting message from a 'good looking' girl from Senegal, who want's to send me pix and has a SPECIAL reason for getting to know me! Is an offer of marriage on the cards?

message 5285: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Actually, yes, Sean, I HAVE seen Titan A.E.; I also have the soundtrack... :-P Sorry to hear about the computer problems, but glad it seems to be cleared up!

And thanks, Janie. I'll probably just be sitting around here doing nothing, like usual, but one can never tell... :-)

10:36 a.m. EDT Oh, there were some scenes with a cat in this book I'm editing that just broke my heart. I've spent half the morning crying, it seems. I am working on waking up Dmitry to send him to work, and then I'm taking a nap I think. I have three weeks to do two manuscripts, and while they're both over 100k words, that really should be sufficient time, I think... so I'm not going to push, and will take the time to go out tomorrow, maybe, if Dmitry wants to. Hope everyone has a great day!

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 9:24AM and I'm working. Everyone else is off today, but I am not. Usually I don't mind working the 4th but Lately I am really hating my job. It is such a struggle to continue to come to this soul sucking hole. I try to keep telling myself at least I have a job, but that at times isn't a comforting mantra. I'm tired of applying for 6-10 jobs a week and never getting an interview.

Forgive my venting, I'm cranky this week.Part of the reason I haven't been around GR much. Well hope everyone has a great 4th if you celebrate it, and if you don't, Happy Thursday.

9:32AM Gonna finish up here and then get ready to set the pool up! Can I get a YAY!!!! LOL After that is done then we will start our cook out and then go see fireworks this evening. Another full day and no time to read. But I LOVE IT! I love my family being here! It has been a great week!

message 5290: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments I know the feeling, Chris. Sometimes it's better to not have a job at all than to continue in a place that saps your will to live. Hang in there!

Sounds awesome, Janie! I'd love to see the fireworks, but we tried that the first year I was here and it's just too crazy out there... you have to park 3 miles away and hoof it to find a decent spot...

10:56 a.m. EDT We had hoped to hit the pub today, but they're closed... boo. I dunno, I'm about to wake up Dmitry and see if he wants to try something else. I wanted to try the microbrewery, but they don't open until 2 and I am really hungry right now, so ... *sigh* I guess we'll see what happens. Wish me luck!
