What time is it and what are you doing?
Thanks, Chris. We met in 2001, married 4 months later, so it was 11 years this year. 12:20 p.m. EST Just doing touchups on this manuscript...

That's great Katy. My wife and I have been a couple for 11 years this past May, but we will have been married 8 of those years this October.
Katy, sounds similar to Mark and me. We met in February 2009, he asked me to marry him in October, then we married in March 2010. When I told my grandpa, I was nervous he would think it was too quick, but he said, "What took him so long?!" Haha!!

He was up at a training seminar for 3 weeks. By the end of the time, I put in my notice at work, filed for divorce, and starting selling everything I could find. I moved down here another 3 weeks later - from Minnesota to Georgia after 3 weeks physical acquaintance and another 3 weeks on-line. By Xmas we had decided to marry, but he was waiting on his Green Card and we didn't want anyone saying I just married him for his green card, plus I needed my divorce finalized, which came in late January. He also heard he was about to receive his GC, so we went ahead and married. Only to find out that now he had to start all OVER... LOL Anyway, yeah, it was literally 4 months after we met, almost to the day, when we finally married. It was really a whirlwind... :-)

I'm ecstatic to be a husband and father, but it isn't for everyone.
As long as you are happy with you I say rock on.
We don't have kids, yet. But, being married is a blessing. Mark really has helped me through some rough times and we've created a lot of great memories together. I've even helped him through the stress his family puts him under. I actually never wanted to get married because of my parents disaster of a divorce. Then, I met Mark and he made me realize not every marriage ends up like my parents' marriage. Lol.
No chilluns for us, Sean. We have fur babies and that's IT. I had my tubes tied when I was 28, 'cause I just didn't want to worry about it anymore. I know kids are great... for other people. But I almost had a nervous breakdown with a PUPPY. Imagine how i'd be with a CHILD! Hahaha! If we ever just absolutely MUST have a child, we'll adopt.
6:57 p.m. and once again I am crying over the fact that there are not enough hours in a day. Have not taken the time to cook nor eat any food for dinner. Have to leave to pick up a friend in about 10 minutes. Got a little reading done today and plan to read a bit more later when I get home. Hope everyone is having a great day!
1800 CST. It's been a great day, thanks Cindy! Mores signed books arrived today and right now I'm wrapping a present for my nephew's 7th birthday party...in about an hour. When Hell's Kitchen is on.Oh well...
8:54 p.m. EDT Sad because I think firefly season is over. I don't see a one out there tonight. *sigh* Too short a season...
8:00 PM. Had another awesome workout earlier. Dinner is still cooking...oops. Going to watch Hell's Kitchen, then read.
2000 CST. Bowed out early from the party. I had to catch the last 20 minutes of HK (they're at the black jacket stage now)! Still recovering from the sugar-bomb frosted chocolate SpongeBob pirate cake and having worn an eye patch for an hour (the older you get the more you miss depth perception). (view spoiler)
10:53 p.m. and I'm going to update my reads and go to bed. Goodnight everyone.
7:42 a.m. EDT Good night's sleep! Hah. Dmitry woke me this morning with the exciting news that George Takei will be at Dragon*Con! wOOt!! And James Marsters, who is bringing his band, will be performing! YES!! This will be EPIC!!
1:37pm got sent home from placement at about 11, got back into bed and slept for a while now I'll make a drink and relax for the rest of the day so I'm better for Monday
Yeah. I haven't felt too good for the last couple of days but now I've got a migraine a burning temperature and my whole body is aching and shaking, thanks Katy!
Jordan, hope you feel better!
Chris, I think it's awesome that you cook with your son. When my 2 boys were young I had them help me in the kitchen all the time. They loved it, and now as adults they are both great cooks. As kids they also used to love to watch Julia Child with me.
9:31am EDT. Having a leisurely morning, drinking coffee and hanging out on GR. Reading 2 great books which I'll get to later. Feeling really great mentally and physically today. What a treat!
Since you all were trading courting stories yesterday, here's mine: My husband and I met at my sister's wedding. He was best man and I was maid of honor. (How hokey is that??) I was determined not to like him because I thought the guy my sister was marrying was a jerk, besides which she was only 17 and had no business getting married at that age. I was living in Chicago at the time, and my future husband Larry was living in Cincinnati. (The wedding was in Columbus.) I had a boyfriend in Chicago that I was in the process of breaking up with. Larry and I hit it off, and after the wedding was over he had to rush back to Cincinnati because his rock & roll band had a gig. He invited me to go with him, and that was the beginning of it all. I spent that whole week in Cincinnati going with him to band jobs in the evenings. When I went back to Chicago, my boyfriend there freaked out and kicked my door down and threatened me. Since I didn't feel safe, I returned to Columbus to live with my parents for a couple weeks. (I was an RN and so could get a job anywhere at that time.) I ended up moving to Cincinnati, and Larry and I were married a year later. Since then we have enjoyed 36 years of (mostly) wedded bliss. I can truly say our love has deepened and grown as we faced both good and bad times together. He's definitely the only man for me. He has been a huge support through my illnesses and ultimate disability.
Have a great day all my GR friends!

Have a great day all my GR friends!
9:45AM Good Morning my GR friends! I trust everyone had a good nights rest. Wow I discovered I have not posted here since yesterday morning. Guess I was side tracked trying to get through my current read. LOL Anyway...
Will be taking the day out today with my family. I love days out helps break up the monotony of cabin fever, LOL. I am not sure how much I will get read today. LOL Maybe this evening. Randy decided to go to work for 6 hours today for some double time, which is awesome, and always helpful. Will help getting our fill dirt for the yard and then we can get the the pool up as well for the 4th! WOOT!
I have actually at one point or another had all my kids helping in the kitchen. I think Amy, my oldest has enjoyed it the most and so far as put it to good use in her own home.
I have to say I like reading everyone's stories, They are awesome. So for me and Randy, been married 14 years now, met online if you can believe that. Through AOL even. This is my 2nd go around, my first, well that is for another time.

1002 CST. I'm under attack!!! I repeat, I'm under attack!!! Thanks goodness the camera flash works for a momentary respite...
owwie....
that hurt...
Cute dog, Squire!
2:14 p.m EDT The above is sort of how I felt when I suddenly realized that one of the characters from the first book, and carried over into the second book, was named General Moteurs. General Moteurs. I did NOT catch that. Not until we met Corporal Puneschment... Suddenly I realized DI Phillip Softone might not be exactly what I thought, either...
I can be really, really clueless sometimes...
BTW, what is a kirby grip? Is it like a bobby pin?
Katy, a Kirby grip and bobby pin are the same thing:)8:23pm I am so tired, I'm going to go for a nap then read some more
2:57 p.m. Hoping that today will be a good start to my new work plan; keeping my fingers crossed. Also hoping I get paid today......would like a new book! :-)
6:23 p.m. and I'm currently crying like a baby. This will be SEVEN weeks in a row of overtime. Don't get me wrong - I am truly grateful to have a job and the OT money is nice, but I am getting pretty tired. Need to be somewhere in about an hour. Gonna make an attempt to read for about 30 minutes and then get dressed. Hope everyone is having a great day!
Thanks, Jordan - I thought that might be the case, but .... Ah, Cindy, I really know how that feels. That "I'm at the end of my bleedin' rope and need a BREAK already" depression... *hugs*
6:38 p.m. EDT I was just logging in to do some stuff and my computer randomly shut itself down with no warning. I was pretty annoyed. We're at 70 percent change of thunderstorms tonight, and based on the wind and thunder, I think we're in for one. I'll be going to sleep soon, though - my cousin is supposed to pick me up at 11:30 in the morning to go have hair and makeup done for the wedding, back home to dress, and to the church by 4 p.m. for piccies, so it'll be a long day. Talk to you later!
6:54pm ET. It is about to rain AGAIN in the central piedmont (NC). My flowers are loving the rain and this is perfect weather for much needed reading. ... Now where is the chocolate??
6:12 PM. I have actually not done any reading today. I think I needed a break from Black House for a bit. I did some cleaning, folded socks, and watched some Roseanne DVDs I have. Then, I got in my last workout for the week, and it was fantastic. Mark is taking a nap, and suddenly I feel little compelled to read BH. I will read until he gets up. So happy it's Friday!!!Cindy, I really hope you get some relief soon. Though the money is nice, I'm sure a break would be, too. Will be thinking of you. *hugs*
Alondra, wish we were getting rain, but what is rain? I have almost forgotten what it is again. Lol! Glad to see you post, book-sister! :)
Janie, hope you had a great day with your family! Even though I missed your posts today, I know what you mean about cabin fever.

Texas is fantastic and i loved it; but good grief, rain was so non-existent. :O
Oh, Alondra, I just received the BEST chocolate... it is some sort of custom-made fudge with agave sugar or something. REALLY good. You can give/receive it as a Facebook gift, it's in the $10 range. Mmmmm.
Oh yeah!! Thanks for reminding me! I love when it rains, so living in Texas and having sparse rain makes every rain shower even better. :)
7:30 p.m. EDT I'll probably take a nap soon, I hope. Was feeling a little sleepy, but some idiot commenting on my review of Thus Spake Zarathustra to tell me my small-minded, culturally unaware Judeo-Christian mindset has blinded me to the obvious: that Nietzsche was secretly all about Zoroastrianism. Whut??? What little I know about Nietzsche is that he was decidedly Atheistic, and certainly not prove to furthering mankind by presenting himself as an actual god. I took away from the book that he was being satirical in the presentation, and that the ideals he was espousing were essentially the same as Hitler's Nazis party... *snort* Judeo-Christian... me!! HAHAHAHAHAHA. People do NOT bother to check into things before they open their idiot traps...
8:25 pm hubby and daughter visiting family in Martha's Vineyard for the weekend. Can't remember when I've had a me weekend to myself! Ahhhhh....silence!
10:56pm- just checking into gr- went out to dinner and ate outside- really nice night.Cindy-sending you hugs- hope you get a much deserved rest soon
hope you feel better Jordan!
Kathryn- you can have some of our rain- we've had some beautiful days but it's been a very rainy month here
Oh, Sean, I receive several noticed EVERY SINGLE DAY about winning THOUSANDS. I'm sure they'll start coming through ANY DAY NOW!!6:34 a.m. EDT Had really hoped to sleep longer, but ... *sigh* Anyway, need to make hubby sleep so he can take me to the salon later and then he can go shopping for an outfit while they're working on me... :-)

5:16pm making curry for d..."
Kind of like the Olympics for kids? We had something like that when I was in grade school. We called it field day. Hope dinner is great. I'm not a fan of Curry, but I hear a lot of people like it. :-)
