Rachel (rachelunabridged) Ordered House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. It has a solid 4.1 rating, and I've heard really good things about it. I'm so excited to get my hands on this one. 🙃

Hope you enjoy it Rachel. I never understood what the hype was all about. Sadly, I found it monotonous. It read like a textbook to me. Let me know what you think of it when you finish.

Loved Bird Box Rachel, that is a cool cover!

Rachel (rachelunabridged) Janie wrote: "Loved Bird Box Rachel, that is a cool cover!"

Right? I borrowed it from the library first because I wasn't sure I'd like it, but it was really good. Wish I had read it back when I first added it to my TBR before the Netflix hype tho', ha ha. :)

(Btw, just finished Haunted and liked it quite a bit. The format is interesting with it being a collection of short stories unified by an overarching story. It was way gross and uncomfortable to read though. In a lot of ways. But that's about what I expected from Chuck Palahniuk so I enjoyed it. 😂)

You know Rachel, I still have not read a book by Palahniuk. Which would you recommend to start with?

message 4146: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rachelunabridged) Janie wrote: "You know Rachel, I still have not read a book by Palahniuk. Which would you recommend to start with?"

Haunted was the first book of his I've read, so I really couldn't say. I enjoyed it though so I'd recommend it if body horror and uncomfortable content doesn't bother you. :)

message 4147: by Janie, Group Owner & Book Addict (new)

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
Doesn't bother me at all. I love horror.

message 4148: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rachelunabridged) Janie wrote: "Doesn't bother me at all. I love horror."

Then I'd say Haunted is worth the read. :)
I still haven't decided it I'm going to read more of Palahniuk's work. I've looked through some of his other stuff, but nothing is jumping out at my like Haunted did.

Also, found some books from my high priority TBR today! I've been looking for these forever, and this is the first time I've even seen copies of them somehow.

The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker Ghost Story by Peter Straub
