Nice haul there Veronica. My mom loved the orient express book. She loved the character Hercule Poirot. I can remember she would always talk about Agatha Christie and her characters. What the other? Was there a Miss Marple too?

J.S. Bailey (jsbailey) | 30 comments The paperback version of my Christian suspense novel The Land Beyond the Portal by J.S. Bailey is currently on sale at Amazon for 22% off. Only 3 copies left...

message 365: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Kit I loved the Exorcist, it was way better than the movie and had a lot more story to it, if that makes any sense. I will have to do a reread on that one soon.

So I had a few bucks left of Amazon.com credit and I bought my wife and I Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops. We both worked in a Barnes and Noble for a few years so this was a must for us. She read it and laughed so hard she was crying, I can't wait to read this.

message 366: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 73 comments Just got back from my favourite UBS. I picked up a nice first edition of The Tommyknockers, a paperback copy of Midwives, and The Child Thief by Brom. I'm so excited about the Brom book, I've been wanting to read it for years.

Janie- you're so right, this makes me VERY happy! Thank you so much for telling me! If you wanted to, you technically could start with Black, and go from there, since Green is the last book (it's my favorite of the series, BTW.)

I think all of our "to-read" shelves are constantly growing. I know mine is. What can I say, when I see a book that sounds promising or utterly amazing, I must add them. Otherwise, I'm apt to forget about countless books that have the potential to be great.. you know?

Dustin so true. I figure if I add them I will revisit my shelf and see all those books that marked tbr. It really helps.

Dan Mine too. I sold a completel shelf of books rthat I no longer wanted only to refill again in a matter of minutes.

message 397: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments There are a few books I have had on my to-read shelf for a year or too and I recently removed them because my interest has changed. I do like to add stuff that I have every intention of reading, but sometimes my taste just changes.

I haven't officially bought this yet, but I pre-ordered The Kill Room. I can't wait to read this, I have been waiting for a new Lincoln Rhyme novel for 2 years. This way it will arrive the day it is released and I can get a first edition Hardback for Mr. Deaver to sign when he comes to town.

You see...I could never sell a book. Not even my copy of Twilight. LMAO!!

message 400: by GeneralTHC (last edited Jan 25, 2013 07:50PM) (new)

GeneralTHC Most of the book on TBR is probably stuff I'll never get around to reading. I just add it as a 'maybe' pretty much when I'm looking for books. I should probably start looking through that shelf for reads rather than using the recommendations link.
