Nothing really exciting except my textbooks and man is one of them heavy!
Had a great meet up with Susan and got many books, but right now I am just too lazy to post them. LOL
I went to my local library book sale this weekend. This is what I got: Me Before You, Monument 14, Paranormalcy, A Monster Calls, To All the Boys I've Loved Before, Fragments, Death du Jour, Monday Mourning, Déjà Dead, Miracle Cure, Frog Music, and First Love.

Here is my latest book haul. I will show you instead of typing them all in, that takes to long. LOL

I bought The Lady In The Van mainly because it came with a free double pass to see the movie - score!

Gave myself 20000 Leagues Under the Sea... it was cheap.Janie wrote: "Swan Song is a great story Gavin! I hope you enjoy it!"
Yes, I'm looking forward to reading it.
I picked up Wreckage, Abandon, and The Girl In The Ice on my Kindle. I picked up The Fire Sermon and a really cute edition of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn at Ollies. I also got Salt to the Sea for my birthday last week.
Two reference books on The Dark Tower series that go through the comics and The Wind Through the Keyhole:
While I find Vincent's reviews of King's books too pandering and uniformative, he's got some sharp insights into the DT series that hadn't occurred to me. Furth's book is really in-depth and invaluable.
Bought Flamecaster (Shattered Realms #1) by Cinda Williams Chima a few hours ago. I've been looking forward to this book since I finished the Seven Realms series by her, which was years before this spin-off was even announced! ;)
I have picked up a few books in the last few weeks. They are: The Dragon Factory, Asylum, The Wicked Will Rise, The 100 Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared, The Goose Girl, The Bone Season, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, and I Still Dream About You.
Was recently given True Colors, Firefly Lane, and Fly Away; All by Kristen Hannah. Lavender Morning and Scarlet Nights by Jude Deveraux and The Bartered Bride by Mary Jo Putney. All are out of my comfort zone, but let's see if they will also become my comfort zone :-)
Bought these a couple of days ago:The Canterbury Tales
World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War
Rayuela
Just bought Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Janie, my Aunt opened a new package as she was giving the books and she had Winter Garden in her package. Maybe she will pass it on to me when she is finished.
Illustrated 'Salem's Lot by Stephen King, volume two of Cemetery Dance's "Stephen King: The Doubleday Years" series.
Illustated by David Palumbo. Includes 50 pages of deleted material (as a supplement, not inserted into the story), The stories "Jerusalem's Lot" and "One for the Road," and a new essay by Clive Barker.
And a couple of omnibus editions to commemorate my Epic Shannara Quest of 2016.
I got a lot of goodies today. The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchet, City of Ashes & City of Glass by Cassandra Clare, A Michael Crichton bind up that consists of: Congo, Sphere and Eaters of the Dead; along with a paperback of Micro. I got my daughter a Wreck my Journal and a novelization of Disney's The Decendants. Totaling $3!
I love the Princess Bride, it's one of my favorites! But I have brought recently:
The Book of Harlan
Day Shift
A Court of Mist and FuryThe Count of Monte Cristo
I'm waiting for my
(The Complete Works of William Shakespeare) to arrive. It's nice to splurge on a beautiful book once in a while.
Good for you! I sometimes think I spend too much on books, but I have friends who will buy 100+ books for their ereaders in a 6 month period; but I can't read that fast, so the same amount of money spent on one nice HC book every 6 months doesn't bother me at all. After 30 years of that philosophy, I have a helluva library!
Bought these today:Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two
The Gods Themselves
Emma
Children of Dune
Delivered today: The Girl On the Train by Paula Hawkins, Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King, Rumble by Ellen Hopkins, Traffick by Ellen Hopkins, The Girl In the Spider's Web by David Lagercrantz, and First Comes Love by Emily Giffin.
This is the 1996 orginal of the book I'm reading now. It was rewritten by the author for its 20th anniversary, but I think she might have neutered her book (the only one she's written) by rewriting it. So I called around to 11 used bookshops in KCMO before I found a Halfprice Books 30 minutes away that had it. I'll read this one after I finish with the 2016 rewrite and see.
I went a little bananas at our library sale. I got:The Glass Castle, Pretty Baby, Sarah's Key, Bits & Pieces, Asunder, Infinite, The Widow, Shift, Dust, Hatchet, We Have Always Lived in the Castle, The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry, City of Glass, Suicide Squad, Vol. 1: Kicked in the Teeth, Suicide Squad, Vol. 2: Basilisk Rising, and a few others I can't seem to remember at this moment. All good condition and great prices.
