Just pre-ordered PS Publishing's 30th Anniversary edition of Skeleton Crew.
Expensive, but ultimately worth it (for me).
Skeleton Crew 30th Anniversary edition
Thanks, Janie. I watched your birthday haul the other day and am looking forward to your thoughts on some of those books.
Oh awesome Squire thanks for watching. There are several that I want to get read as soon as I can.
I've been buying a lot of books from work lately. They're only a dollar; can't go wrong there....am I right?!
I picked up a few books today:Audiobooks:
Hunted
Finders Keepers (pre-order)
Stone of Tymora: Forgotten Realms
And, at the library, used books are $1.00 and I got The Island of Eternal Love.
Janie, I couldn't resist the Stephen King books. All brand new books. Revival is a hardback. They were $2.99 each.
I bought King and Maxwell by David Baldacci and three Victoria Holt books which I got at a flea market. They had a sale, buy 3 books for only $2.50 for all three books. I haven't read any Victoria Holt books in awhile and I really like her!
Stephanie I've heard that Bird Box is really good! I'd like to know how you like it!Janelle I have the audiobook on Outlander
I haven't started it yet but need to. I'm just afraid that its a romance. I like time travel and historical fiction, so if its more than a romance I'll like it. I can read a book with romance in it, but it just can't be solid romance. I'll be reading it soon.
I understand. I don't like a too much romance with the story. I hope it's a great adventure. Amazon does offer the audio for 3.99, so maybe I'll grab that too :^)
Andrea wrote: "Yesterday I bought a brand new copy of Doctor Sleep for $2.99."Wow Andrea, can't beat that! I hear Doctor Sleep was a good one, I still have yet to read it.
Stephanie wrote: "There is another sale on Amazon today (no Bird box) that has some good ones. I picked up: Plum Island, The Panther, and 2 others... (losing my mind, can't remember wi..."Stephanie, Plum Island was a good one, my first book by Nelson DeMille.
Stephanie I love Nelson Demille! My Dad read The Panther and told me that I had to read it! I read The Lion but haven't read The Panther yet! The Lion was very good. I think Plum Island was my first Deville also Corey! That was years ago but I think I want to read this series, and start at Plum Island. I read The Lion about a year ago. This is a series but the books are stand alones!
Yes Stephanie! I picked up the first 3 books in the "In Death" series. I have been waiting for the the first book to go on sale for a long time. :^)
Mary wrote: "Stephanie I love Nelson Demille! My Dad read The Panther and told me that I had to read it! I read The Lion but haven't read The Panther yet! The Lion was very good. I think Plum Island was my firs..."The only books I have yet to read are The Panther, and Radiant Angel.
Stephanie wrote: "Corey, The Panther is $1.99 today only on Amazon -- if you have a Kindle... :D"I do but I prefer the feel of a book, I'm old school, LOL!
I am the same way! I would rather have the book! I love my books! I will listen to an audiobook though and that's only when I need a book quickly and don't want to wait for it to come in from the library. I only get them on YouTube! I usually get my books from flea markets, library book sales, and garage sales. Every once in awhile I go to Barnes and Noble's. I bought King and Maxwell at Meijers and it was on sale.
I bought The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl who played with fire, the girl who kicked the hornets nest, schindlers list, the davinci code, and at dawn we slept for 4.90 at a thrift store.
Had a great meet up with Susan on Saturday and I got some books. They are:
Rules of Prey
Killing Time
The Search
Eve
Every Day
Pandora
Don't Go
Devil's Corner
Book of the Dead
The Mystery Woman

I need to stop buying and increase my reading speed! I picked up one of SYNC's free offering this week, Lord of the Flies. I know I read it in school but I have no memory of it other than there are a bunch of kids stranded on an island.Audible has a $4.95 sale this weekend and I got Lock In and Lolita.
Janice, I have been borrowing a lot from the library for 2 months and haven't read what is on my tbr bookshelves. So bad lol.

I moved into the city 3 years ago and joined the library again. I use it sporadically though because I have so many books on my TBR. Yet, I can't seem to break that habit of just going out and buying the books I want. I think it's called addiction.
Went out to my local bookstore today and bought some more books, couldn't resist, LOL! Here's what I brought home,

.
They were high when I lived in the country because I wasn't part of the municipality. Here the municipalities fund the libraries. So I had to pay the full shot. Now that I live in the city, my fee is $7.50 a year which is very low.
I didn't realize that libraries charged fees. I have 2 local libraries and I am in the country. They are free libraries. I guess I wouldn't use them if they charged a fee.
Here if I live within Denton city limits there are no fees, but since I live in the country I believe it is $50/year. We have a library in our small town but it is tiny and they don't offer much.
Shelleen it does not matter if you live in the country as long as you are still a part of that town where the library is located you wont have the fees. I live in a different town, one town over from where the library is, if I were in the country but still a Denton address then I could use the library at no fees. I think they should do it by counties, that would work for me.

Once you belong to your local library then you can use about 30 libraries in the region for free. Plus I can ask for books from other libraries in that region and they have a van that picks up books and drops off to the libraries so what my library doesn't carry I can get from another library in the region and it gets dropped off to my library. They do that twice a week. That is free but I would pay a small fee as that uses gas and wear and tear on the van. I guess I am very lucky and assumed that all libraries had a program like that.
Shelleen my library works the same way yours does. I never knew libraries charged fees. All you have to pay is for the library card which the last time I had only had to pay 25 cents.
Every region and country is different as to how libraries are administered. It all depends on how it is funded, I would imagine. One way or another, you probably pay for it in your taxes. My library membership gives me access to a province-wide ebook and audiobook consortium and I can download as many as 10 titles using Overdrive. My library is affiliated with all the public libraries across the province and I can borrow titles from another library if it's not available at mine. I order it online through my library's website and I pick it up there when it arrives.
