I think those types of books are interesting Michelle. Adds a little it to the story I think.

HAHA Corey I did not visit any place for books this week. I was good! But I also know that I have a ton of books coming from my sister this next month. I think next week I will buy another book case.

Jihan | 12 comments I just bought Tuesday with Morrie by Mitch Albom and Saturday by Ian McEwan. I've read Atonement before and it was really good. As for Mitch, this is my first book, if this one caught my interest I will continue reading his other book.

message 2669: by Kim (new)

Kim Too many to mention! I have been on a buying frenzy this past month, and I need to put myself on a buying ban. I did buy a few to catch up on series though. Like XO by Jefferey Deaver, The Angel of Darkness by Caleb Carr, and Top Secret Twenty-One by Janet Evanovich.

message 2670: by Victor (new)

Victor I bought Joyride by Jack Ketchum on my kindle. Stephen King has a thing on the cover saying don't start this book unless you intend to finish it in the same night. I also heard someone on YouTube say that when King wants to be scared he reads Jack Ketchum.

Kelly (and the Book Boar) Finally had some free time (cat not included)

Kelly (and the Book Boar) It's been on my list forever, Corey, so I was really thrilled to see it at the junk shop.

Booker T. Washington says thanks for the compliment. I'm pretty sure he knows how handsome he is, but he never lets it show ; )

So I just bought A soft copy of Eona: The Last Dragoneye, by Allison Goodman to match my copy of Eon: Dragoneye Reborn. And also I got Just Listen, by Sarah Dessen. I also decided I wanted to try a new horror writer so I pick up Face and Berserk by Tim Lebbon. So I am hoping those will both be good.

Ok so we got a new thrift store in Denton called Thrift Giant and the store is huge. So since they do have a book section, over the last week I got books 2, 5, and 7 of the Harry Potter series. I got those for $10 and then 2 days ago I went again and got Revelation, I have been collecting that series, and also got Forever Amber.

message 2692: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amandainpa) | 19 comments So I completely broke my book buying ban but we went into a little bookstore in my town that I've never been to and I found some great deals!

I got Black House, Sharp Objects, and Perfect Nightmare. After getting home I realized that Black House is a sequel and doesn't have great reviews (so now I have to find The Talisman)...

Then at the Dollar Tree I picked up Safekeeping which sounds really good. (Sometimes I find great books there)

And then I ordered Duma Key and It online.

Amanda Black House can totally be read stand alone. I did not like it at all. The talisman is great though. I loved Duma Key! One of my favorites.

message 2694: by Victor (new)

Victor What do BH and Talisman have in common Janie?

message 2695: by Janie, Group Owner & Book Addict (last edited Jul 09, 2014 07:18AM) (new)

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
Not really all that much imo Victor. I feel like they are just 2 totally different ideas for books. I have it in my head that King wrote most of The Talisman and Straub wrote most of Black House. Whether that is true or I have no idea, but it sure does feel that way.

message 2696: by Alissa (new)

Alissa Patrick (apatrick12211) Are The Regulators and Desperation the same kind of idea? Which one is supposed to be read first?

message 2697: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amandainpa) | 19 comments Good to know Janie, I'm going to give Black House a shot, hopefully I'll like it.

message 2698: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments Daniel D. sent me some books (thanks again Daniel!!!) that he got pretty cheap from his library. This is what I got:

The Likeness
Crusader's Cross
Long Lost
The Alibi Man
Down the Darkest Road
The Sixth Man
The Whole Truth
The Narrows
The Closers
Private Eyes

message 2699: by Victor (new)

Victor Alissa- The characters from Desperation have different roles in Regulators. It's kind of like a different universe. Desperation was published first, but I don't see why you can't read Regulators before Desperation.
