um I have *runs to the library* ok I have Brimstone, Still Life With Crows, and The Cabinet of Curiosities. Any specific order?
holly would probably know better than me but from what i can tell those are books 3 (cabinet), 4 (still life with crows)& 5 and can all be read as stand alones. looks like book 5 (brimstone) is the first book of one of the trilogies within the series.
Still Life and Cabinet can be read as stand alones, yes. Speaking of which, we should so do a buddy read for Still Life With Crows!! :-D

They are! It makes reading so much more exciting when you can share your thoughts with others. You guys think we should start a thread to see if anyone else might be interested.

Rachel I am sorry I totally did not see this post. I think we posted at the same time. Thanks also for the help on that.

Yea, I was happy! Didn't get the trade paperback Gunslinger that I was wanting, but it's alright, there's always next time. I was looking for a copy of The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, but the guy with the good deal didn't have it, and the people who did were wanting $4 for a beat-up paperback, so it'll have to wait too :)
I actually did spend $4 on my copy of The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, but it was in pretty good shape. So I was happy.
Lol for a nice copy it's a good deal, but this one was all creased on the spine and covers, pages dog-eared. I'd pay a quarter for that, but not much more.
Yea I can totally understand that Kit. Did ya look on Amazon? Some of the third party co that sell through Amazon have great used books for a penny. You can get new ones too though. I shop that way all the time, especially if our local UBS does not have what I am looking for. But then again you do have the shipping to contend with but the books are in better shape.

I really like lisa gardner and I've been wanting to try Karin slaughter's books for a while now-hope you enjoy them :)
Thanks Rachel. They are new for me as well. So I look forward to trying them out. The Other Daughter sounded really good. If I like these 2 the UBS had plenty of their stuff. At least for now they do.
I bought Bizenghast Volume 2, Bizenghast Volume 3, and Bizenghast Volume 4. I'm not usually a reader of graphic novels, but Bizenghast is a really cool fantasy series. I kinda stumbled across V1 at the library, and glad I did! :)
Holly wrote: "I just got 1984 by George Orwell."Ahh.... one of my favorite books of all time, Holly! A fantastic Dystopian novel. Classic!
I've heard nothing but food things about it Dustin! Even David said it was good, and you now that he doesn't read much!

So it has been a long time since I have bought a book but I did acquire some new ones recently. I actually won two books from the Goodreads giveaways and those are, Garment of Shadows, and Batman: Arkham Unhinged, Vol. 2. I also just got around to having dinner with my mom for my birthday (a week and a half later) and she gave me Joyland. I am really excited to get into these books. I think I will try to join the Stephen King group for their monthly read of Joyland coming up.
Glad to hear it, I have been itching to get this book but funds kept me from it. I can't wait to start.
within the past week... 172 Hours on the Moon, which was recommended by Victor :). I also got House of Leaves; Fire and Ash, which is the last book in the Rot & Ruin series; and ARC of My Mother's Secret: A Novel Based on a True Holocaust Story. I hope that ARC is good, or else....
Alondra I would just like to get Book 2 in the Rot and Ruin series. I guess a trip to B&N or Amazon to get Dust and Decay and Flesh and Bone. I really enjoyed the first one. And thanks so much for the link to Overrun, this has been a great Zombie Apocalypse read. I am totally enjoying it. And the best part, it was free.
