Kimberly Bakker (kimberly2309) I just ordered:

- The fault in our stars

Looking forward to receiving them! (:

Very nice Kimberly. I saw the movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower, but I have not read the book. My oldest daughter read it and she loved it.

You're most welcome! I keep hearing wonderful things about Maberry's Rot & Ruin series, (mostly from Alondra!)

Courtney | 73 comments I have Killing Floor, Blockade Billy, and The Hellbound Heart coming from BookMooch.

message 671: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments I read The Hellbound Heart last year. It was pretty good. It's a nice short read if you need a short one. Hope you like it!

message 672: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I've been itching to buy a new book and were I wish it was a real book, a Kindle book is almost as good. I just bought Bones Are Forever. It is a monthly deal on Amazon. Regularly 12.99 I think and I got this for 2.99$. So very excited. Need to get a few books that came before this but I couldn't pass up this price.

Awesome on the sale of that book Chris! It's so nice to find deals like that!

message 675: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I thought so. I love the Kathy Reichs books and since I'm a few books behind I was really glad to get this one so cheap. They are great mysteries if you guys are ever looking for something along those lines.

I love the Hellraiser movies, and I love Clive Barker's writing, so I'm looking forward to it :)

message 679: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Rachel it is a very good series. Each book is a stand alone but there are character relationships that develop so if you don't read them in order you might be a little lost on that aspect, but otherwise they are great books. I also love the TV show Bones, based off of these books. I hope you and Janie get a chance to try it out someday. I think you guys might like it.

Chris I also enjoyed the Show Bones when I was able to see them. I saw quite a few but that seems so long ago. I will have to check into these thanks Chris!

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
Ok so I added them all to my TBR list. All I had to do was read the synopsis on the first one to decide that this would be an author for me. Thanks for the tip on them Chris. I also have added them to my Color note on my phone so I can start looking for them at the UBS. I have no doubts that they will have some. And hopefully at least the first 4.

message 682: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I really think you will like them Janie. I have found a lot of the hard covers at B&N in the Bargain section, but since I have had to cut back on buying HC I decided to get the ones I'm missing for Kindle instead. Now I'm still looking every chance I get but I only collect two authors in HC for my collection now. Those are Deaver and King, my two favorites have to have HC first editions. I know I'm weird, but I have a book addiction like everyone else here ;-) and they look really nice on my shelves.

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
Nah does not make you weird Chris, just shows you have a love for books! Nothing wrong with that. Have you tried any Greg Iles. He is also very good. I have read, I think 4 of his books so far. Right now I started his Penn cage series starting with The Quiet Game. I am loving it.

message 684: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I haven't Janie, I remember seeing his name when I worked at B&N years ago, but never tried him. Would you recommend starting with the quiet game, or is there a better one I should start with?

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
The Quiet Game is awesome, but a very large book with over 500 pages. I would hate for you to start it and not like it and feel obligated to finish it. One of my other favorites is called Dead Sleep, much more manageable and also very good. When I first started reading Iles I was worried that they were gonna be much too political for me but it turns out they have not been that way at all. So that makes me happy. I also wanna try True Evil, it sounds very good as well. I hope you decide to try him he is awesome.

message 686: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Thanks Janie, I added Sleep no more to my to-read list and found both that and quiet game at the library in audio, so if I like Sleep no more I will move onto that and with audio it is easier to keep going if I don't care for it if need be.

I don't know if you noticed Chris but I had to edit, I meant to say Dead Sleep, not Sleep No more, LOL I do however own Sleep No More, I just have not read it yet. Perhaps we can do a buddy read on that one some time. I also added True Evil which sounds amazing!

message 688: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Oh well glad you said something because I didn't notice. I will check the library and see what they have. If I am not reading to much when you want to do a buddy read and I like Dead sleep I will gladly do a buddy read with you. Just let me know.

message 689: by Janie, Group Owner & Book Addict (new)

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
Awesome, just let me know what you think of Dead Sleep and we will go from there. A buddy read would be awesome! Thanks Chris!

message 690: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I notice that Dead sleep is book 3 in a series, do I need to have read the other two or is it stand alone enough I should be fine?

message 691: by Janie, Group Owner & Book Addict (new)

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
I read it as a standalone and it did not have a series feel to me. May be part of a series simply from the main character point of view, where they are working on another case.

message 692: by Janie, Group Owner & Book Addict (new)

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
Ok Chris I went back and looked and the book 24 hours I also read and yea they are completely separate and only connected by area. Hope that helps.

message 693: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments It does, thank you very much. I look forward to getting to them. Thanks for the recommendation. I do appreciate your thoughts.

message 694: by Dustin (last edited Apr 17, 2013 01:09PM) (new)

Dustin | 797 comments Yay, I am ecstatic! Last night, Tanya and I went out for her birthday (which is actually today,) and she wanted to go to Target, so that's what we did! And in the book section, what did I find? The last HC copy of A Dance With Dragons, offered at 30% off!!! Now I really cannot wait to re-read books I-IV, in preparation for Dragons!!!:)

message 695: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Great find Dustin, I usually find great deals on books at Target, but sadly I have already bought them elsewhere because I am inpatient and have to have my favorites right when they come out if I can.

message 696: by Dustin (new)

Dustin | 797 comments Thank you, Chris. I'd actually been wanting a copy since it came out, almost two years ago, and when I saw that it had been significantly discounted, with one copy to spare, I simply HAD to pick it up!!

message 697: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments I just bought a hardback of Pet Sematary for six dollars and Duma Key for three dollars at the used bookstore. Completing my King hardback collection one book at a time. :)

message 698: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Get out of here Kathryn!!! That is amazing. I would have jumped all over that too. I got Under the Dome for Kindle when it was a daily deal for 2$ but Pet semetary isn't on ebook, or audio it seems. I was going to buy the Paperback but I would much rather have the HC if I was going to buy it.

Amazing find and I am so jealous. Didn't you also find a copy of IT in hardback really cheap? I apparently need to visit Texas so I can hit the UBS. You always find great stuff it seems.

message 699: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Haha yeah my hardback of IT was two dollars. I just always keep my eyes peeled as they say! My husband is the one who got me collecting the hardbacks because he thinks they look better in the shelves. Little does he know, but I am definite not getting rid of my paperbacks!!! Haha! :)

message 700: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I agree with your husband, I think the hardbacks look better on a shelf. I am even more particular and I try to find first editions for the HB that I want. So far all of the Dark Tower books I have bought in HB are first editions of the illustrated editions. I still own all the paperbacks and I keep them for when my son gets old enough to read them. If he wants to read them, then I don't have to give him my HB. One day I will get a hold of all of King's books in HB. I almost have all of Jeffery Deaver's in HB and most of what I have is signed.
