Hi Everyone...!!

I read a book 12 years back. Got it from my local library, actually. I read it and liked it and like a good citizen returned it back. I want to read it again, but I can't remember the name, however hard I try. It's driving me crazy to think how I forgot the title of a book I liked so much!

I remember the story. The hero is very much like Sherlock Holmes. You can say the author (Intentionally) took Holmes, renamed him and created the story around him. He uses detective reasoning, plays the violin and is even addicted to cocaine!
The story revolves around the hero trying to stop a group of people of the occult trying to bring the devil himself to earth through para normal means. The story also ends very much like Sherlock Holmes, where the hero goes down fighting his arch nemesis. And the last few lines is like one of the main characters leaning into her baby carriage and calling the baby "Adolf". It's implied that they do succeed in some later date and the evil is brought to earth in the form of Hitler..!!!

Have anyone else read this book..?? Please, Oh, Please help me remember it's title...!!!
