If you haven't read the series yet, you might want to get started :-) Prodigal Son is the first book

Jackie (thelastwolf) The TV movie done for the first book, that DK mentions in the article:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0397430/

I think a TV series is a better option. I would definitely watch it. And I better get to reading that last book of the series.

So...let's talk casting...any ideas? Definitely a Brit for Victor, I'll have to think about it. Maybe Terence Stamp, Colin Firth.
James Purefoy, Jared Padelecki for Deucalion.

Sandra (sandraspurlin) | 1 comments I am reading the first book now, but I'm a little confused... I keep getting Roy and Victor confused. Lol. Can someone explain who they are?

Syd Perry (sydperry) | 37 comments Good question. I wish Dean Koontz's books could get translated to movies and TV as quickly as Stephen King's. It seems like Dean wants to protect the essence of his work keeping the film representation of his story true to the original. Stephen doesn't seem to mind if his work provides inspiration for something similar yet in many ways altogether different. (Example: Under the Dome)

I believe you are right Syd. I read that he has turned down a few movie/tv contracts because of the disagreement on changes.

Meran I'm reading the Frankenstein books right now and finding them very good, simply written but easily read and full of nuance. I like them very well :D

In the books he notes that the show is not going to happen. Maybe a good thing. He said they liked it a lot, then decided to 'change some things'. Which he was not happy with. (Why option a book or series and then change it so much it's not even the same story any more? I don't blame him at all.)

I'm on the third book.

Tracy | 528 comments Koontz is very watchful of Hollywood when they want to put his books on screen. After reading different arrivals by Koontz I believe that is why most of his books aren't on film. He doesn't like them to change much at all.

Meran I've noticed there's too big a change-up from the third to the fourth book. Not sure how they'd handle that. I could see two seasons for each set, the 1-3, then 4&5.
