I have numerous books in my library that Goodreads has no Cover photo of. How do I add a scanned Cover of the books I own?

The easiest way is to upload the scanned images to your "other pictures" section on your profile, and then post here in the librarians group with the link to the book the cover is for. We can grab the image from your profile and get it fixed right up!

If you aren't a librarian:

(1) Upload scanned covers into your goodreads photos (go to your profile, then under your picture, click "more photos", then click add more photos on the right).

(2) Then, create a thread in this folder (Book Cover Help) with a link to the book (or at least an ISBN) and a link to the photo you uploaded, and a librarian will add it in a jiffy!

Let me know if that doesn't make sense.

I became a Liberian this week. I've read the Manual. I have not found how to do this "in a jiffy" ! ! ! Some of my books are very old and have no ISBN's.

Well, if you're a librarian, simply go to the book that has no cover, click 'edit' and in the upper right area of the page there's a place to upload your cover file.

As I've added books to Goodreads and noticed cover art not available, I've scanned the covers of my books. Now that I'm a librarian, with your help, I've been able to fill in the blanks, so to speak, using my scans. Thanks Jennifer and Sara ! ! !

I hope a librarian can help me. I changed book covers on my novel "The Writers' Conference" from a picture of a Tudor building to a black cover with a red laptop. The old Tudor cover still appears when my books are grouped together. Can this be fixed?

Book covers shouldn't be changed if the first cover is one that was actually published.

They probably shouldn't be changed, but the new cover will be on the paperback edition. Also, the new cover is on Amazon. At this point I'm committed to it. It's been a lesson.

As Scott says, we don't replace published covers. I see that there is an alternate cover edition with the new cover already set up. The cover image that shows first is the "most popular" as in "most shelved" if I have my facts straight and as the new cover becomes more widely used, it will "float to the top" and become the one that gets seen first.

Hello. I am interested in reading Say You're Sorry by Michael Robotham, and I noticed that the hardcover version on Goodreads has the wrong cover. The book was just released for the first time this month, so this is not a case of an alternate cover edition like in a second printing, merely the wrong cover. A hardcover version of the book does not exist with the picture shown on Goodreads.

While the picture now on the hardcover version actually belongs to the paperback copy, the hardcover version really has the same picture as the ebook version. Would it be possible to change the picture of the hardcover to match the ebook picture?

We can't use data from ebay, as they are a bookseller. Also, you need to provide the ISBN or a link to the book in order for us to add the cover to the correct edition.

Just out of curiosity, why is Ebay considered a bookseller since it's just a vehicle people use for selling their own stuff and it doesn't sell anything itself? (Unlike Amazon and B&N who also sell used books.)

Anyway, found a copy on a non-bookseller site. Snagged it and a description and added them to the entry.

Those people are booksellers. "eBay" is just a convenient way of referring to them.

Thanks...just one note, it looks like now there are two alternate editions of this book, which really isn't the case. Basically

Shadow of Wrath
should be the primary one. I just don't want readers to get confused?

L.W., since you originally published the book with the old cover, some readers still have that old cover,even though in the market there may only be one edition with the new cover. You also don't want readers with the original edition to be confused.
