Richard | 816 comments Just finished Gonji: Dark Ventures. What a great way to be introduced to Gonji!

With this title you get a retooling of a previous work, a new adventure featuring Gonji as a young man, a brief history of the publication of the series, and a glimpse at new forthcoming material.

Just wrapped up Peter Fugazzotto's Skin, a horror Sword & Sorcery short.

My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

It is just a short story (read in 1-2hrs), but it is inexpensive/free .... very timely for Halloween.

Thank you mightily for the high praise of "Gonji: DARK VENTURES," Richard! Yes, I was long overdue to write a book that would serve as a gateway into my series that began in the 1980s and has been re-issued in recent years. It's tough getting out the message that DV is the best place to start for new readers. But enthusiastic comments like yours really help.

Much obliged, my friend. I hope you continue into the series with pleasant results!

I finished The Blood Star and am stepping into the group reads with Selections from the Writings of Lord Dunsay (since it's a bit too soon for a reread of The King of Elfland's Daughter)

I love the original Foundation trilogy and will have to revisit them one of these years.

Richard | 816 comments Yeah, he had numerous pen names and wrote in quite a few genres.
Versatile, but once you read one Fox paperback, you've read them all. In that I mean you start so see patterns in his writing if you read enough of them. Some shine more than others. Too early to say with this one.

They are. Each book in the series builds on the larger story. Eager to see how it culminates.
