You can still post on the nail polish thread and be sports mad. You lot just don't talk about the right sports, now if it was Cricket, Rugby, AFL, NBL, you might talk my language.

No you don't have to eat my nits. I was imagining myself in more of a bird self-preening mode, anyhoo.

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments good, i am not good at nit-picking

yeah, i was riding down the curvy road with my feet up on the highway pegs and fished my phone out of my right front pocket with my left hand and opened up my camera app and took this pic while riding. you can see now why i have so many scars and skinned up places. i live like an everyday stunt man

I met Jodi Foster during the filming of that. Remember the scene with the marching band, where mom is already in the daughter's body & keeps messing up? That was my junior high school band. We spent the day filming, and I met her during lunch. Of course I had no idea that she would turn out to be such a big deal.

janine | 7709 comments my new roommate's father is painting her room so now the entire house smells like different shades of paint and middle-aged smoking guy. i also saw the guy carrying around four chihuahua's in his denim jacket again. he looked exactly the same and i saw him in the exact same spot i saw him before. it's one of the more interesting intersections in town. take a left or right turn for prostitutes, go straight ahead for the halal butcher, or take a few steps back to visit the synagogue.

message 4170: by [deleted user] (new)

So, which way did you go?

message 4171: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments straight ahead, past the halal butcher and the sex store, to the university.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Right now I'm clockwatching and pissed off at Sprint because they keep making me change my password for my online account, so I never know what it actually is... and then I can't access it to get the pics that I've taken with my phone (so the pics of my large purse and small book will have to wait, Bun... sorry!).

Also, I'm enjoying TWO new CDs from Robert & Mary Gillihan - they were childhood favorites... played mostly traditional tunes - shapenote musicians (mountain/folk music), autoharp, bass, mandolin, pickin bow, spoons, harmony - the good stuff! :)

Mary sent them to me in the mail, and I got them in today... so THAT part is very, very good. In fact, I'd say it's put me in a much better mood than I was in this morning (because some jackass set the thermostat on our floor at 89 and I got sick!!!).

Also, I changed my toenail polish. Now it's sort of a nude peachy pink color. I forget the name of it, but rest assured it's an OPI color. :)

Félix (habitseven) Right now I'm in the terminal at Tucson airport watching jet fighters take off. I have an hour and 50 minutes until I leave for Phoenix (a 20 minute flight) and change there for Omaha.

It's very hot in Tucson this week. No big surprises there.

Right now I am waiting patiently to see if Australia has a new Prime Minister... A female Julia Gillard... Any minute now we will know.

message 4184: by [deleted user] (new)

The girls are kicking butt. Julia Gillard is our new Prime Minister. Our first female Prime Minister.

Right now I am doing hand stands, and cartwheels.

message 4185: by [deleted user] (new)

You really should have put clothes on first Gail :-)

message 4186: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, and congratulations to the new Prime Minister.

message 4187: by [deleted user] (new)

Nahhhh. It's a lot freer & easier without them. :D

Continuing doing hand stands & cartwheels totally starkers.

A little late, but my apologies. You are absolutely correct! Mostly, I just don't bother with nail polish because it would last about 5 minutes in my job. My daughter is a total sports nut like me and a princess that loves shoes, purses, and make-up so I should know better!

message 4197: by Youndyc (new)

Youndyc | 1255 comments Right now I'm feeling really bad for the Florida Panhandle. And all the rest of the coastal areas affected by the spill, but they happen to be broadcasting from an empty gorgeous beach in Pensacola right now. Florida and Louisiana are getting totally F#$ed by all this - Alabama and Mississippi less so (far less coast).

message 4198: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) Youndye,
I just heard a travel agent on the radio saying that most of the beaches are oil free and gorgeous. I think they are trying to keep people traveling and supporting those businesses along the Gulf. Have you been out to the Gulf yourself and seen the reality? What does your local news show? Sometimes I feel like the news shows us what they want us to see......

message 4199: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments i have running water again! apparently i share a main valve with my neighbours and they shut it off. they also have their own main valve, which they shut off now, instead of the shared one.

message 4200: by Youndyc (new)

Youndyc | 1255 comments From what I've been hearing and what they are showing on the local news, there are waves of oil clumps landing in various places, then they get them cleaned up and the top layer will be pristine, but underneath that top layer there may or may not be dirty (i.e., oily) clumps. I haven't been to the beach, but I'm contemplating looking for a late summer cottage or condo rental on the Panhandle, because the prices are going to be amazing, and if you don't spend a lot of tiem on the sand anyway it could be perfect. It's just really hard to say what's going to happen ultimately. I think Florida has it a bit easier in terms of clean up - to clean up the beaches is way easier than cleaning up the marshy areas of the Louisiana coast.

Frankly, it's all pretty depressing.
